Fumikiri Jikan

There isn't much to say, it's a short anime that doesn't want to give an awesome story or something, it does what it says, it entertains you for about 2 minutes and 30 seconds per episode. The stories are pleasant, maybe they won't make you laugh out loud but, sometimes, they can make you giggle, and the animations don't suck, they're good. The music is okay, it isn't great in my opinion. Would I recommend it? Yeah, it's a little entertainment, actually it would be great to watch it while you wait in front of a rail crossing lol

So, do you want to chill out ... at night under the blankets? It's recommended as much as a slice of life anime, but don't expect a masterpiece, it does its job, and it does it well.

I love shorts, I love the concept itself – interactions between people on a railway crossing is a very fine setting for such comedic slice-of-life pieces. More than that, Crossing Time opens with pretty much the perfect execution of the idea – witty and well-timed romcom skit between two girls. Whether you like yuri or not, it's just cute, wholesome and decently funny.

Sadly, the rest of the series is extremely hit-and-miss. There are some really nice skits, like the text-message bickering between two siblings, and extremely bad ones, like a guy just creeping on a girl he considers sexy, with no punchline to it. If ... the producers did a better job at choosing which scenes from the manga to adapt, it could've been rather excellent for a short-form anime, as the production quality is pretty ok for what it is and like I've said before, the concept itself is absolutely fine. As it is now, I can only half-recommend it – just watch the good parts and skip the episodes that sound creepy or got bad ratings from people. When it's nice it's really, really nice, but when it's not, it's also REALLY not.

Opinion & Informal

Art: 5/10 Standard. Nothing impressive or noteworthy. Anatomy was believable.

Animation: 5/10 Standard. Nothing impressive or noteworthy. Movements were believable. No fluidity or anything impactful.

Characters: 5/10 Can't really say much in terms of character development. At least some personalities weren't boring or typical. Interactions were amusing.

Plot: 5/10 Each mini story had scraps of a plot and some even had really interesting setups that I would have really liked to see more of and develop.

Development: 4/10 Stupid. Some of the mini stories had really interesting setups that I wanted to see more of but this stupid show ended up just leaving them at the starting line. The development in this show was stupid and left a bad taste in my mouth. There is nothing wrong with 3-minute episodes, but don't try to create any sort of setup if it's just going to be ignored. Creating open-ended development in this case didn't work and ended up hurting it in my eyes.

Music: 4/10 Wait, there was music? It was more like mood appropriate jingles. Nothing noteworthy here.

Overall: 4/10 The show had interesting setups and some were really cute too, but it only teased you with just that. Developed nothing afterwards. Stupid. Left a bad taste in my mouth.
