While HisoMaso is obviously more fantastical than Rescue Wings, it is probably the next best depiction of life and characters within the JSDF.

-both(Hisone And Erin) have friendship with flying monsters and have similar character deveploment. -Heartwarming slice of life series. -Excelent rhythm and soundtrack.

A group of girls and women entering a field deemed to be "men-only" The characters each have their own problems prior to the events of the anime which they overcome with help of their team and the bonds they forge throughout the episodes The partners assigned to the characters have minds of their own A socially awkward protagonist The main focus is the girls and their relationships with the titular activity coming second place If you like what you saw in Dragon Pilot, give Between the Sky and Sea a watch and vice versa!

While the two are significantly different in the character department, both have a similar atmosphere with their general lack of serious drama. That might be an advantage or disadvantage depending on personal preference. HisoMaso tells a slightly more serious story, though, where characters have to cope with their self-esteem issues through piloting, while Dragon Maid is more focused on daily dragon hijinks. Oh yeah, and both have moe dragons. If that's your thing, go watch both.

Both are military slice of life anime at their core, So Ra No Wo To is generally more serious in tone though. Both focus on a character that is severely under-prepared for military life, but So Ra No Wo To doesn't put so much focus on one main character. Regardless of minor differences, you should enjoy both if you're one to like military anime.

!Spoiler warning! Similarities: - MC gets swallowed up by dragon/machine - MC becomes the only one that can ride/control it - MC is forced to join a government team to help them use the dragon/machine - MC tries to quit at least once - later in the series, more similar dragon/machines appear - real purpose/origin of the dragons/machines is discovered at the end of course there are a lot of differences but the overall vibes of the shows are also similar :))

Hisone to Maso-tan and Ryuu no Haisha, for starters, both focus on humans and dragons coexisting with each other and what that dynamic entails in their respective stories. While both shows have a healthy dose of action elements, if you like anime with a chill atmosphere, they both have it in ample sums as well. Moreover, if you enjoyed the candid, "daily routine" elements either one established, the other could be up your alley.

Well they both have these half-mech half-living beings that they control from the inside, a tsundere character with a Napoleon complex who feels outdone by the protagonist and a protagonist with personal issues which (s)he will resolve by being a pilot.

WAIT WAIT BEFORE YOU RUN UP ON ME. I don't care about your opinion on Franxx because at this point, It's very hard to not notice similarities. -Both shows has the underlining theme of finding strength with the people around you -Both shows have light sexual harassment. -Both shows use "love" or romantic relationships impossible to occur due to the main characters profession. -Not to mention the staffs of both shows being involved in Neon Genesis Evangelion In my opinion, I think Hismaso is far better than Franxx due to it's writing and more likable characters.

They share the Shinto imagery of a ritual or a being which must be appeased through a form of sacrifice. Each show has a team of girls who are to be loyal only to their respective jobs. Yuuki Yuuna is a take on the dark magical girl genre, while HisoMaso has a more light hearted take where girls are joined by dragons.

Main characters both have similar go get em personality. Both are pretty feel good.

Both casts create a welcoming, "laid back" atmosphere. Instead of working with Patlabors, it's dragons.

Both shows are about quite odd combinations of fighter anime, cute girls, and relationship-focused stories. Hisone to Maso-tan is more moe/SoL though.

Both shows have a cast of characters that have broken or dysfunctional traits who are sucked into a program that intends to give them a purpose or goal. Both series also share the same director and script writer.
