Urahara

Similar art style. Very "artsy" shows with a bit of a mahou shoujo flair. Bright, colorful creatures and characters. Unique, one of a kind storylines, for better or for worse. If you like one, try out the other. 

Stylistically very similar in both color design and approach to narrative. Similar effects and even cast.  

If you have enjoyed and sat threw "Little Witch Academia" than I highly recommend you to watch Urahara! A lot of the style in regards to composition as well as execution of the shows in general show correlation with each other and although the plot can be seen as dull, simple, as well as even boring to some people its very satisfying to see that the shows have a type of understanding of what they are, as they are both simple shows at heart and the main appeal of both of them aren't held up by the plot but in the creative use of color, as well as the amazingly animated scenes in which are satisfying to look at. 1. A slight part of Japan is invaded/infected by mysterious existence that causes it to lose its culture and creativity (and cuteness too). 2. People lose their minds/memories. 3. Cute girls are there to fight the mysterious existence and return their hometown and people back to normal. The peaceful life of people and their beautiful culture are at cute girls' hands! 

Both shows are about ordinary anime girls gaining magical powers to protect the Earth from otherworldly villains. 

Cute anime girls battle evil in surreal, artistic worlds. The protagonists fall into despair later in both series, but eventually overcome it and achieve their happy endings. 

Both are surreal psychological magical girl series that appear light at first, but become darker when the protagonists find out the twisted truth behind their powers. However, they fight back against their cruel fates. 

Both are magical girl anime that contain multiple references to Japanese culture. 

Urahara and Happy Sugar Life are very similar in art style, using candy in the backgrounds with pastel color schemes. The two are very different in tone and plot structure, with Happy Sugar Life being a very dark and violent plot-heavy show while Urahara is a lighter and more action-oriented magical girl show. Characters in Urahara are also presented in a far more positive light than the commonly evil characters of Happy Sugar Life.  

Both are about anime girls who gain magical powers that are not what they seem, and the villains of both series are shockingly similar. 

Creativity. Using your creativity to unite your friends and to build things with them as well is the central themes of these two series. Both series also use a bright and upbeat color palet to show the light hearted nature between them. The only major difference between the 2 series is the Urahara is a Magical Girl series and When Supernaturals Become Commonplace is more of a romantic/harem type of deal. Also if you have read this far, then watch the English Dub for Urahara because the voice acting on that particular version is superb.  

Cute girls killing cute monsters. Bright, colorful characters and color palette. Lots of pastels everywhere, it's a visual feast. If you like one you should at least try out the other. 

- Magical girl anime where the MCs fight against aliens - MCs have animal-like characteristics (characters with ears and tails) - Tokyo Mew Mew features a romantic dynamic while Urahara is more centered on their friendship/self - Really vibrant colors and transformations 

Low-key shows with unique visuals that focus on a group of girls in Harajuku and emphasize its culture and aesthetics. 

Urahara is pretty much Akiba's Trip but in Harajuku instead of Akihibara. Where Akiba's Strip focuses around otaku culture, Urahara focuses on fashion. 

Both have the same plot, but Mao-chan is more ironic and actually make you laugh like a creep. 

Both feature vibrant colours and a mixture of slice-of-life and magical girl tropes. Both utilise external threats to drive the story and set the stage but are predominately focused on the friendships and internal conflicts within the main cast. Yuuki Yuuna is a much heavier show emotionally whereas Urahara is a lot more upbeat and artsy, but both have their fair share of drama.  

No matter how you find weird clashing type of messy routines with pack of undeniably flashy zany type of animation. Less MAGNUM OPUS filled with wacky graffiti satire scenarios
