Creativity.
Using your creativity to unite your friends and to build things with them as well is the central themes of these two series. Both series also use a bright and upbeat color palet to show the light hearted nature between them.
The only major difference between the 2 series is the Urahara is a Magical Girl series and When Supernaturals Become Commonplace is more of a romantic/harem type of deal.
Also if you have read this far, then watch the English Dub for Urahara because the voice acting on that particular version is superb.
