freaky, psychedelic, a journey filled with random happenings, surreal visual style, Yuasa Masaakis segment "happy machine" on Genius party is somewhat reminiscent of his work on Cat soup

Same principle of short movies by several different directors.

Collections of short animated movies produced and created by various people and directors from Japan's animation industry. Each short is pretty different from the other episodes.

Both are anime shorts, which give you a glimpse of several different worlds. A variety and mix of everything. Both are worth a watch just to see the huge range of things animation can take us.

Masaaki Yuasa's segment in Genius Party is similar to Kaiba.

The "Baby Blue" episode reminded me of this movie.

Same studio. Amazing shorts that tell a full story in a short amount of time.

There is similarities in these OVA's/movies... They are both in parts with similar arts and stories about possible future, therefore I highly recommend it if u like anime that deal with possible future destruction, if u search to watch different arts in one anime or if u are fan of Matrix (this counts for Animatrix).

Collections of short animations by different directors/artists. Shinji Kimura Deathtic 4 somewhat reminded me of the third segment in Memories (cannon fodder).

Thanks goes to Studio 4C for the animation work, in both cases. The first part of the Genius Party is the most similar to Haru wa Kuru. In both parts we follow a strange being that is just wandering around the world. Around this journey some strange things happen that is for the audience to interpret.

both projects are made by several directors.

A collection of shorts by different people. Robot Carnival's theme is, self-evidently, 'Robots', while genius party does not follow a particular theme as such.

Both are artistic shorts from young individuals telling stories with meaning, something to learn from.
