Gamers!

If you enjoyed the "gamer culture"-oriented references/dialogue of either Gamers! or Jaku-Chara, you'll probably enjoy the other. Our gamer MCs are not particularly happy with their station in life: their starting "stats" are, at least in their mind, woefully ineffectual. The MCs use their love of gaming to help contextualize and explain life, though Jaku-Chara's Tomozaki takes the idea to more of an extreme (this lessens a bit after the very on-the-nose dialogue of the first episode). Expect frequent references to gaming culture thanks to these very gaming-oriented MCs, as well as some scenes of straight-up gameplay. However, despite their appearances, both series are ultimately not about gaming, but about insecure and self-conscious individuals who are given a lucky opportunity to become more functional, sociable people when a socialite-by-day-and-gamer-by-night encounters them. The two series are at least partly comedy of errors, though that's more of a core of Gamers! and more of a partial description for Jaku-Chara. People have called Gamers! "Misunderstandings: The Anime" because of how much it is driven by misunderstandings, and I can definitely attest to that. Jaku-Chara's comedy is mostly driven by the awkwardness of the MC—and he really does behave/speak sometimes like he was exposed to sunlight for the first time, at least initially. You'll find a focus on a core of characters that give our struggling MC the necessary interactions to help them more become more personable people, though the focusing lens is a bit different. Gamers! mostly follows a love... polygon? network? Jackson Pollock painting? including the recluse + socialite gamer pair, while Jaku-chara mostly follows the recluse + socialite gamer pair with a somewhat more peripheral surrounding cast as the MC attempts to succeed at the game of life, though a few of these members get some focused arcs. One important distinction is that Gamers! is more slice-of-life, while Jaku-Chara has a more clearer direction, so keep that in mind. Because of that, Gamers! has more of a bouncy and carefree mood compared to Jaku-Chara, where the deeper themes about truthful and deceitful social interactions are evoked more clearly and more seriously. If you liked Jaku-Chara, check out Gamers! for more ditzy, somewhat gaming-oriented comedic exploits. If you liked Gamers!, check out Jaku-Chara for an occasionally comedic, but more importantly, a more focused and serious take on a gamer discovering the joys of life, with complementary deconstructions of social interaction. Both have similarities with the whole aspect of gaming, romance and just regular high school life. Tomozaki-Kun does everything you hoped from Gamers, except the romance part. Gamers is more romance based compared to Tomozaki-Kun which is more based on character development and the relationships with the mc and his friend group. Can some of the dialogue in Tomozaki-Kun be "cringe" with the constant gaming references? Yes, but that's part of what makes the show what it is tbh. Many dropped Tomozaki-Kun after the first episode during a stacked Winter season because the mc was "cringe" but it picks up after that and its definitely worth giving a shot. Tomozaki-Kun also has some of the best mc development i've seen for a 12 episode show, hoping for a season two! read more 

The show feels similar both have a female lead with a gaming theme. 

They are both fairly short slice of life shows in which an antisocial gamer boy and a popular girl, who just so happens to secretly enjoy video games, get closer and fall in love. They also both contain quite a lot of generic high school shenanigans that are over-dramatized for the sake of plot. If you enjoyed one of these shows, you'll surely enjoy the other as they're basically the same thing in a different font. 

Both deal with video games, school life, and how the mc will deal with the people around them. Plus, both shows are really epic to watch and full of fun adventures!! 

Both are romance series that involves game, it's not focused into the the main characters, but side characters are also given some attention 

- Both have a plot related with games; - Both are rom-com. - Both main-character have their relationship with other characters expanded because the games;  

Both animes about gaming with a bit of romance. 

Both are about gamers set in high school, same type of story but with a different execution. 

A Series on slice of life, comedy and about video games in particular. If you love playing video games and want to watch anime related to it...then, I recommend this series...  

These two have a same concept, MC character development or should I say more on their development to becoming a "normie." A definite recommendation if you enjoy Tomozaki! There is just little differences on the story approach specially when it comes to characters' romance and love interests. But Gamers! is enjoyable in this aspect because it'll give you good laugh on how messed up their imaginations and hunches LOL. 

Both animes have protagonists approaching life from this fictional gamers' POV. Both of them deal with high-school relationships. And both of them are absolutely hilarious too, altho Tomozaki is a bit more serious. Basically if you want the serious thing, then don't watch Gamers, otherwise, it's an absolute must-watch.

The same romcom where it involves guy getting involve with a gaiming otaku girl, except in Gamers the guy's girl is a hot otaku gamer, while in HSG the guy is involved with an odd girl that doesn't even speaks.  

Both animes have problems with romance. A main part of the plot is gaming for both animes as well. They both include some sort of issue to do with relationships.

The romance between gamers in these two series are quite similar. Despite Gamers! taking a much more shorter approach pre-love relationship compared to High Score Girl, they both delve into how friendship could turn into love between acquaintances in gaming. These two series also feature a love triangle, with the main characters as very knowledgeable in their games. In High Score Girl, the era is set in the 90s, specifically the "golden age of arcade video games" (so expect many retro game references), while Gamers! is set in the present time. To add, both series like to exaggerate and emphasize on situations throughout the story, which makes scenes quite melodramatic - that may or may not influence one's enjoyment in the series. High Score Girl especially makes creative use of video characters as a way to express emotions. Also, expect the animation of High Score Girl to be mainly done with CGI. Though it does it fine, so for those who have experienced CGI anime should be somewhat comfortable with this. read more 

Both have the same school , cyber punk and comedy, romance, it also involves guy having a on-line relationship that he even hasn't met in real life, it also involves the guy getting recruited to a club for gamers.

The couples are gamers. Cute and funny moments of romance. A heartwarming story.  

Basically, the similarity between the two shows is gamer's trying surviving in real life.Both have lots of romance too.  

Both are romance series focused around a group of high school gamers and their mutual interest, however Netoge no Yome focuses more on the group's dynamic within the club and helping Ako distinguish the game from reality, while Gamers is more focused on the misunderstandings that arise from the group not knowing how to communicate. While both are comedic, Netoge uses fanservice for humor at times, while Gamers is more tame 

Very similar characters, styles and genres, both shows use games as main "shtick". 

Both shows have similar tone in their comedy. Very good soundtracks and sound design + visual that really sell the comedy in a way that uses the medium of anime well. 

Gamers! has a environment like Konobi. Besides than they are in a club, it has characters with similar "vibes" and the comedy goes the same way as Konobi. 

These two slice of life shows involve an after school club of students who share a similar passion toward a certain hobby. While "Gamers!" shares the story of gaming enthusiasts, Konobi shares the story of art hobbyists. 

Both shows are pretty similar, except instead of a group of gamers it's an art club. The characters are fantastic, there should be at least one character that you could relate to on some level. The stories both have a similar feel to them. And although there's no ridiculously complicated love pentagon, there is a really adorable romance between two of the main characters. 

The setting revolves around a school club, the girl is obsessed with the guy, and there's a lot of misunderstanding based humor. 

Romance between characters who likes to play games and hobbies. Fun, enjoyable to watch and lots of funny moments. They interact in playing games and in real world alike. Highly recommended. 

Both are can be described as "Nerds who have relationships" 

It tell us about the life of a gamer/otaku and both are pretty good rom-com's. 

they have alot of otaku culture and are both very easy anime to spend the day with 

With games club background and romance and comedy part, its made this anime looks similar to D Frag. 

Similar tone of characters who's known to be gamers in a club, where a guy gets dragged or later on get recruited by a such overly maniac random geek in an accident. 

Both are about gaming clubs and gaming stuff Both have bishoujos in them😂

Both include gaming/romance/misunderstandings (Gamers! has a lot more though) 

Both tackles in the premise of the life of gamers. Net-juu is the grown-up version of Gamers!. Both have a likable romance going on (Well, Net-juu takes on romance is goddamn slow but still it takes it nonetheless). If Gamers! is all about a misunderstanding, then Net-juu is all about a coincidence.  

Both series have MCs that the couples are gamers. The romance is similar as well as characters. The comedy is funny and hilarious. They also socialize in games and the real world. 

Gameing is the centre and the plot revolve around it , both of them are rom-com anime, between poler opposite characters . 

The main character in both 3D Kanojo and Gamers is a nerdy and somewhat socially awkward loner, interested in anime (3D Kanojo) and games (in Gamers) and attracts the eye of the hottest girl in school due to them being unique, kind and a bit oblivious. I thoroughly enjoyed Gamers and I think 3D Kanojo is very similar. 

Honestly, they’re very similar but end pretty differently. Both romances, both about people who love games and otaku stuff. Plus they’re both great ;) 

Both are cringe romance stories about some dumb couple so if you like romance and desprate to watch an anime Gamers is a good choice Gamers - About a dumb struck boy not knowing this girl loves him 3D Kanojo: Real Girl - Girl messing with guy about love but then falls in love with him  

A lot of misunderstanding like in Gamers 

Main character is liked by everyone 

Both involve casts of characters involved in complex love/relationship webs, and series of misunderstandings, leading to hilarious comedy situations. Gamers is the closest thing to School Rumble in a long time.  

Romcoms with humor stemming from misunderstandings snowballing out of control. School Rumble has a separate set of misunderstanding that resolves themselves each episode while Gamers! has an overarching plot that gets more out of control as it continues. 

Good laughs. In Gamers!, the couple are obviously gamers while Gekkan couple is: the boy is manga artist and the girl is his fan. Crazy love crushes. Unexpected funny moments. 

Not similarity in setting or anything, but both are romance comedy (heavy focus on comedy). Gekkan Shoujo focuses more on manga, Gamers on gaming. Gekkan Shoujo hints on dating (but doesn't come close to it), Gamers comes to it. 

This recommendation is for the Dub of Hajimete no Gal. Both are comical and orientate around romance. You might think that this has been done a thousand times before, and you're correct. What makes these special is how they know they are cliche's. If you are just wanting to watch a light hearted comedy, then both Gamers! and the Hajimete No Gal dub will do brilliantly. 

I can appreciate both series due to the references they make. In Hajimete no Gal, there are some references like to Charlie Brown. In Gamers, there are references to the ps4, probably because sony has to do something with the creation and the main character, amano, likes a visual novel for this console in this anime universe, the pz4, not ps4. It's called golden memories and framed after the mc's crush.  

As a HUGE fan of this anime,i would highly recommend others to check out gamers. Why? 1.They are both similar genres 2.They are both about a group of friends(and a club,kinda) 3.It has similar characters 4.The animation is great,just like Boku wa Tomodachi ga Sukunai Next I guess that's it,there is nothing more to be said,than to check out Gamers 

I've been thinking about it for a while, but this anime reminds me a lot of Kaguya-sama Love is War, it's as if the thoughts of each character have the same sarcastic tone as the narrator of Love is War and a very similar approach is incredible, it makes me want to imagine How would a general narrator for "Gamers!". I'm pretty sure a narrator would work quite well in Gamers!, with all the misunderstandings that the characters cause in their own minds since they don't face each other to communicate like any real friendship type. 

Gamers and Boku wa Tomodachi have a lot in common: [*] Romcom hinges on misunderstandings [*] all the girls are inexplicably drawn to MC [*] MC is typical clueless coward [*] Gaming/club themes as a thinly veiled premise [*] Occasional fanservice/filler episodes [*] school setting Neither show is new or unique, but if you're looking for a similar generic misunderstanding romcom, these shows are very similar 

Both shows have a love polygon filled with misunderstandings and the comedy revolving around it is top notch. While the comedy is good, the another both shows have going for them is that they also leave room for some serious character development 

New Game! is a slice of life anime about a girl who just graduated high school and went to work on a video games company as a designer, in order to achieve her dreams and goals she'll have to overcome many challenges on the way. This anime has a very simple plot but that is what makes it unique and great, you can feel this show was made with love from the beggining till the very end as it's filled with details and a lot of things that really make a difference. For slice of life fans or gamers overall (specially jrpg fans) I definitely recommend watching New Game! read more 

Both shows have that slice of life highschool romance comedy theme that works pretty well and they both use a similar way to express them even though both shows have their own different stories. 

Both shows have a similar feel and progression. Both narratives may seem familiar and predictable, but they nevertheless keep you guessing. Not to mention there are similar character interactions and tropes at play. 

Although not the same plot, but as soon as I started to watching this show, I instantly thought of this show. Both of the shows have the weird misunderstandings, and the mc being a weirdo. The cringe that is radiated, is pretty on par with Gamers as well!  

Many people recommended many animes like d-frag and blah blah it has similar genre and settings and stuff but will you get the same enjoyment as gamers! anime? in eromanga-sensei you can get the same vibe and enjoyment just like gamers! anime even though it's not similar in genre or settings it doesn't has any misunderstand oriented comedy. 

Gamers is the sequel to Seitokai no Ichizon in terms of timeline and universe but both stories don't have any significance to each other.  

Both focus on otaku culture clubs and how young adults who are in it relate to it.  

If you're looking for a good bit of romance just like Toradora! then your in luck although the first few episodes don't focus too much on the romance aspect of the show as much as they do character development the later episodes really bring it back in terms of being classed as a "romance" anime.
