School Days: Magical Heart Kokoro-chan

This is mostly for the second episode of Higurashi: Kira -- but if you like this one magical girl AU spinoff OVA of a gory and violent anime, perhaps you will like this other one. 

Official spoofs. Magical Heart Kokoro-chan was an April Fools' Day joke and is one big memefest making fun of everyone's least favorite harem, School Days, in a magical-girl-gone-wrong fashion. If you liked (or at least could tolerate) School Days, this is the official spoof you never asked for yet probably wanted. Ghost Stories was an anime that did so poorly in Japan that, in a desperate bid to not lose money, the producers let the American licensors do almost anything they wanted with the dub, and they chose to make the equivalent of an abridged series. Also technically a parody but don't worry, you don't have to watch the original Gakkou no Kaidan to get a laugh out of the English dub. read more 

Magical Girl parody. Nisekoi and School Days both follow the seemingly common magical girl parody, they do a good job at executing them as such following the general standards quite well in multiple plot devices. The original series are similar too, with both being harem anime. 

"Binan Koukou Chikyuu Bouei-bu LOVE!" / "Cute High Earth Defense Club LOVE!" and "School Days: Magical Heart Kokoro-chan" are both comedic parodies of the magical girl genre, where the protagonists fight against equally ridiculous villains in equally ridiculous premises under the name of justice and love. 

Magical Girls special! 

Both are magical girl spin-offs starring little sisters from eroge adaptations, with some mecha influences. The major difference lies in that Magical Heart Kokoro-chan is a parody OVA while Nanoha is an actual magical girl series. 

Similar sense of humor.Nonsense things happen in even more surreal genre, sentai movie parody. Different is Sunred has it own storyline while Kokoro-chan act as stress reliever after 12 episode of depressing anime. 

Both anime are set in alternate universes where the younger character is set to be the main character. Both are magical girls with an older male interest. Both anime have a lot of fanservice (most graphic is School Days).
