Suki ni Naru Sono Shunkan wo. Kokuhaku Jikkou Iinkai

Following Natsuki Enomoto's confession rehearsals with Yuu Setoguchi, their younger siblings Kotarou and Hina struggle to confess their own love. Despite a disastrous first meeting in middle school with her upperclassman Koyuki Ayase, Hina’s heart is captured by his warm smile. Initially confused by these newfound feelings, Hina soon realizes that she has fallen in love for the very first time.

Chasing after her brother Yuu and her crush Koyuki, Hina also enrolls in Sakuragaoka High School; but the threads of love are far-reaching, and they entangle Hina and her friends. Boisterous but sensitive, Hina hopes to confess her feelings to the tender-hearted Koyuki. Meanwhile, Kotarou, oblivious to his own feelings for her, is determined to always keep Hina smiling.

Suki ni Naru Sono Shunkan wo.: Kokuhaku Jikkou linkai follows Hina, Kotarou, and Koyuki in high school. Their youthful love forges new relationships, but also threatens to break others.

I didn't plan to write a review for this since it's so short, same as the other movie from this series which I didn't write a review for even though it was enjoyable. However this side story is so interesting that it changed my mind.

Being part of the Kokuhaku Yokou Renshuu series, just as "Our love has always been 10 centimeters apart" and "I've Always Liked You", it's a somewhat generic teenage romance anime. However this side story has a different angle on how usually these animes go. The ending is not predictable, it's realistic when it comes to procrastination and waiting until it's too ... late. It's unforgiving to most of the characters involved, but in a bittersweet way.

The best comparison would be Makeine, that had a different take on romance animes focusing more on what happens to the losers of these stories rather than the winners. Same thing there, the storyitself is not original, but the angle is.

Easily the best part of the entire series, if you've seen either the short series or the other movie this is a must watch. A very refreshing watch in the realms of the predictable and recycled romance animes. However, it's best to stick to the release order to get the most out of this movie.

Mixed Feelings

Review:
I'm just so excited when I know that the movie have sequel, this movie didn't disappoint, and it's basically still in the same time line, it's just from different perspective (from the siblings perspective), which I like, because it won't confuse me with the back and forth stuff. While I found this to be good, I can see it's a bad thing for the viewer who haven't watched ... the first movie. The story goes slow at first and then it's steadily getting faster towards the end, because it's constrained by the duration of a movie. The characters in this anime are mostly useless except the 2 main characters, because the supporting characters did not explored at all, only introduced once and done, even though they have some potential for their own story. There's no plot holes as far as I know, the only thing annoyed me is the fact that the story is so predictable that it's bound to get boring at some point.

The arts are beautiful it's so vibrant and just screams bittersweet love life of a teenager. The character designs, their clothing, the details of the rooms and buildings, it's of a high quality. The animation though, not so much, not like I expected much from this kind of genre, but I do hope they improve it a bit compared to the previous movie. It's still the same stuff with before, not that it's bad, it's just so average, that it's weird that it's paired with the amazing visuals.

The audio are simply superb, with a stable performance from the seiyuus, each characters got their own charms and life easily (even though they didn't explored beyond the introduction stuff). I don't think anyone can find fault with Honeyworks doing the OST for this genre of anime, since it's like their very brand, the lyrics, the melody, and the overall feels they conveyed are just right on point.

Reasons to watch:
-Great continuation of the first movie
-Great songs from Honeyworks as usual
-Cute heartwarming romance story

Reasons NOT to watch:
-A bad standalone movie, need to watch the first one to get the feel
-An average visual

The first thing that popped into my head when I finished watching this anime was "wait, what? Is that it? Is this the ending? Will they end this anime with this disappointing ending?

Then after I thought about it for a few minutes, and couldn't find a way out, disappointment came over me

The one hour duration of this anime doesn't have a story that matters. What's in this anime is just nonsense

This anime only tells about a cowardly men and women because they don't dare to express their love for the person they like because they are afraid that their relationship with the person they like ... will be awkward if their love confession is rejected.

I mean that kind of thing is a risk you have to take if you want to confess your love to someone. If you are not ready to accept the risk then you must be determined to forget your love and don't feel pain. Seeing something annoying like this from the beginning to the end of the story makes me very disappointed

Another thing that confuses me is why the love story of Setoguchi Yuu (Setoguchi Hina's older brother) and Enomoto Natsuki (Enomoto Kotarou's older sister) who are side characters can dominate more than the main character's love story.

The role of the two of them as side characters and as an older brother and sister should be to help the main character (their younger brother and sister) to get what they want. But in fact they are happier and these two side characters dominate the story more than the main character

The only good thing about this anime is the animation and songs by chico with honeyworks. Only those two things that I can enjoy in this anime.

Overall I feel disappointed with this anime. I know that this anime is an adaptation of a song by Chico with Honeyworks. But I think the song by Chico with Honeworks should be used to fill the soundtrack from another anime that is better than this anime.
