Spoiler free article: A short description that's just a bit longer than normal synopsis to give you rough idea what to expect from this anime. Conclusion for TL;DR at the end of the articles.
Review:
With a whole different take compared to the first season, this season Megalo Box carry a lot heavier atmosphere and even more focus to the story than the boxing on the ring itself. Each characters get fleshed out even more in this series, no characters left out. The introduction of few new characters also feels just right, and they neither overwhelmed or underwhelmed the "old" characters. The slow pacing suit just right
...
with this kind of story, although some people might find it a bit too slow.
The arts are just as good as the first one, with it's amazing both character detailing and the background of the city. Unfortunately though, that the resolution of the background pictures can't keep up with the character as a lot of them looks grainy due to the very low resolution, and it's all of them, I mean, I know background is there as a support and not the main star, but the quality differences can't be that much...
The music are not everyone's cup of tea for sure, but it did capture the whole atmosphere of this season, with no vocals at all, you can listen to the guitar's strum to your heart content. The whole OST successfully sculpted the atmosphere to allow the viewer to get absorbed while watching. The seiyuu also able to convey the emotion of each characters perfectly, it even transcends the language barrier. If that's not an astounding performance, I don't know what is.
Reasons to watch:
-A superb continuation of Joe's story (or should I say Nomad..)
Reasons NOT to watch:
-You're looking for fast paced boxing action anime
-You haven't watched the first season

Review:
The story starts promising, looks like it will be on par with the first season of the anime. But it flopped in many ways 30 minutes in, cliched story line, totally altered goal of the anime, it's like a different scriptwriter suddenly takeover the project then change what the message they wanted to convey to the viewer, this is exactly that. For 140 minutes movie, this is a solid story wise, but
...
for the 2nd season of Violet Evergarden, it couldn't be worse than this. They made Violet regress to the first Violet we've met in the first episode of first season.
Visual wise, it's KyoAni quality, characters that's drawn beautifully, beautiful landscape here and there. Unfortunately the stability of the storyline didn't transfer over to this department, some landscape did get drawn beautifully, but some didn't get the same treatment, even worse it's on the important scenes, so somehow I miraculously get pulled out from my immersion, in KyoAni anime, something that I never expected to happen.
The songs are good, but that's about it, they either reused some of the song from the first one, or just made something resembling the first OST. I get the idea of "don't fix something that's not broken", but anime of this class should be brave to explore new things instead of using the same thing over and over again, because it will be a bit "boring".
Reasons to watch:
-A beautiful anime, surely will please you eyes throughout the movie
-Great songs to accompany it
Reasons NOT to watch:
-A let down compared to the previous installment story wise

Review:
The story might seem to start slow, but it's within reason, since there's so many information needed explanation, it will be just another information dump if it's paced like normal action anime. So some people might find it too slow and boring and just quit right there. This show burns slowly, and have a decent story, not flawless, but the flaws it have, it's negligible. For example, the problem with the
...
race discrimination, it's only there for the premise of the story, they don't dive too deep into the problem, so some people might dislike it to be "too shallow" and "not enough research" with said topic. My stance about it would be, it's for the best, this anime is already "heavy" on the story, it's won't be good if it's too heavy on one aspect (story in this case), since it will overweight the other aspect like graphic and sounds, etc.
The arts mixing of both 2D and 3D now feels so natural not like before, proved by this anime, with the mecha and the city with 3D and the rest with 2D. The vivid color palette and sharp lines for the mecha, while some soft line for the other, all in all a pleasant experiences for the eyes. The character designs are unique and easily memorized with their own distinct features. The mech designs are welcomed, since it's rare for some mecha anime to not feature a humanoid mecha. The landscape of the cities and ruins are great at first, but then later I found some to be reused again and again, which irked me tad bit. The battle however, is the meat of this department. It's so fluid, with some great effects employed, such as dust flying, rolling of rubbles, clash of metals, and many more, each have a same count of frame rates, so that it's not "stiff" in the movement aspects. The angles taken for the battles are much more dynamic compared to average mecha anime battles that might make some people dizzy looking at it though.
Do I need to start with the music? It's made by Sawano Hiroyuki, it's the best composer for this kind genre of anime, it will help to reinforce the grim feeling of the death one, the adrenaline rush during the battle, and the epic moment of victory, the music made us viewer as if we're one of the 86. The music truly play an integral part to make this anime unforgettable. The VAs made of both big and small names, but their performance are top notches, you'll get the feel for each character right away. The joy and sadness you can discover right away through their voices, no complain here.
Reasons to watch:
-A different take to mecha anime with a lot more emphasis to the story
-Great battle animation
-Sawano Hiroyuki's music to accompany the whole watching experience
-Great VA's acting
Reasons NOT to watch:
-Slow burn anime
-Few "gun blazing" scene, a lot more story focus than action scenes

Review:
This is one of the few anime from back then that's so good but so few people know about it. It's a very compelling anime with the right amount of drama in a 60 minutes span, by itself it's a good anime that's able to evoke various emotions throughout the show, but if I compare it to similar anime, it's a rather underwhelming since the other similar anime
...
have 90 minutes or longer duration, so the plot feels more natural, while this anime's pace feel so rushed. I feel like they wasted a lot potential by not exploring the side character such as Ryu. There's a lot of things left unexplained so it feels like there's hole here and there, but since I still got the gist of what happened (and what they implied) I feel like it's okay, but some people might found it to be a very bad thing.
The arts are just lovely, it's on par with the visuals from 2020, it's so highly detailed with lots of colours spread through the show. Although the high details brought alive the city among many things, it also made some mistakes to be apparent, such as the unnatural way of explosion of the plane, among many. The thing that surprised me is that the animation during the later half of the show, because I didn't expect such a fluid animation in this kind of anime, which focused more on the dialogue between the characters instead of action scenes.
The songs are great, but that's the extent of it, because it failed to made me cry at the climax moment, and it failed to register in my memory a.k.a forgettable... The sound effects used along the show are just top tier, it felt so real that it even overweight the other aspects at some scenes. The seiyuus did a very well done job to convey the emotions of each character, I can feel the change of emotion, anger, feels of longing, regret and many more, it's one of the rare anime where all the seiyuus able to sink deep in their characters.
Conclusion:
Reasons to watch:
-A decent short drama anime with a bit twist at the end
-An eye candy visuals
Reasons NOT to watch:
-Rushed plot made it a bit underwhelming compared to other similar anime

I'm just so excited when I know that the movie have sequel, this movie didn't disappoint, and it's basically still in the same time line, it's just from different perspective (from the siblings perspective), which I like, because it won't confuse me with the back and forth stuff. While I found this to be good, I can see it's a bad thing for the viewer who haven't watched
...
the first movie. The story goes slow at first and then it's steadily getting faster towards the end, because it's constrained by the duration of a movie. The characters in this anime are mostly useless except the 2 main characters, because the supporting characters did not explored at all, only introduced once and done, even though they have some potential for their own story. There's no plot holes as far as I know, the only thing annoyed me is the fact that the story is so predictable that it's bound to get boring at some point.
The arts are beautiful it's so vibrant and just screams bittersweet love life of a teenager. The character designs, their clothing, the details of the rooms and buildings, it's of a high quality. The animation though, not so much, not like I expected much from this kind of genre, but I do hope they improve it a bit compared to the previous movie. It's still the same stuff with before, not that it's bad, it's just so average, that it's weird that it's paired with the amazing visuals.
The audio are simply superb, with a stable performance from the seiyuus, each characters got their own charms and life easily (even though they didn't explored beyond the introduction stuff). I don't think anyone can find fault with Honeyworks doing the OST for this genre of anime, since it's like their very brand, the lyrics, the melody, and the overall feels they conveyed are just right on point.
Conclusion:
Reasons to watch:
-Great continuation of the first movie
-Great songs from Honeyworks as usual
-Cute heartwarming romance story
Reasons NOT to watch:
-A bad standalone movie, need to watch the first one to get the feel
-An average visual

Review:
The story are way improved compared to the first one, the way the story telling goes so crisp, each arcs are so enjoyable on it's own right that I feel like they should make it longer. I don't know how they can make it this short but it feels anything but short. The lines they chose this time reflect more of their real life work and personality compared
...
to the first season. Maybe the most apparent things is the character growth, it's normal, why is this a good thing? Well, most of the time, anime character got a sudden growth spree or just stuck like that the whole time, so a normal growth is rather rare, it felt so organic that it feels real, all characters mind you, so the supporting characters also in it.
The visuals are same but not same at the same time, it have the same art styles and same quality, but it's depicted way darker this time, since season 2 have a relatively darker storyline. The detailing of the city are also great, since they moved to a lot of other sides of Yokohama, we got to see more of this city, it's just like Google Map, but better. The battles aren't that great though, I mean, it's smooth, but not as smooth as the first one, that's why they added a lot more effects and transformations and what not to distract the viewers from the animation itself.
The musics are way as enjoyable if not better than the first season. I think Luck Life just might as well the face of Bungou Series OSTs, they're involved in all of the series so far, and all turned out to be great. The sound effects are crisps and on point, no unnecessary exaggeration with the explosion and what not. The seiyuus are even better, since they retained the same casts and sound director, the chemistry is just way better, they messed up very well, they're already acquainted very well with their respective characters.
Conclusion:
Reasons to watch:
-An amazing improvements compared to the first season
-More plot heavy than action, so it's truly enjoyable for someone who loves story
Reasons NOT to watch:
-Plot heavy might not be a good thing for the one who love action filled anime

Review:
The story are just basic shounen plot, but the execution can't be worse than this. I would complaint even at the basic story and pacing, but they did more than that, they butchered the whole things with a lot of skipping and missing lots of details and hope the viewers understand, the pacing also super fast and just unnatural. The easiest thing I can point out to give
...
example is that a shounen should have some kind of training arc, they did, but it's at the end of the series (Episode 11 out of 12 to be exact). Everything in this anime is so wrong with the plot armor and plot holes here and there, but the worst part is the MC, he's not only pathetic, but also inconsistent to the core. If you want to make a pathetic MC then it's fine, but don't make him suddenly become shounen protagonist for a couple minutes to be back to his pathetic self later, believe it or not, they did this for most part of the series. If I don't know better, I would assume that he have multiple personality disorder. I think they should add some fantasy tag to this series, because everything in this anime is just modeled to real world, but none adhere to it's rules, it's just like fantasy. Small notes also goes as to why they think gore brutal killings are okay but not curse words...
The visuals are okay, not the greatest, but it's decent to some degree, and it's able to at least hold that quality until the end. The battles are mostly using the blood technique, so there's hardly any movements, and if any, it's choppy, but the blood itself are decent if not for the unnatural way of the blood splash and the blood amount, but you can argue that it's controlled so by them, so it can't be bound by normal logic. The perspective of several buildings and rooms are weird, the size are inconsistent, and looks like the designer didn't research much to several things, many things are just defying physics, I think it's okay if it's some fantasy magical world, but it's not okay in this anime that took place in normal nowadays earth that supposedly have this blood control super power, because then the other thing should work just as normal as it were before (except the blood things).
The sound effects are just bad, let me put it out first, even some retro games have better sound effects in this one, it's so over the top, so exaggerated that even normal people can recognize it as fake, maybe it's supposed to give extra creepy effects, but it's working adversely to that. The voice actors are also something, when several have done okay job, the others did horrendously wrong, the quality between the seiyuus can't be this wide... The OST are mediocre at best, I didn't remember any of it, nor I feel it helps to build the atmosphere while watching this anime.
Conclusion:
Reasons to watch:
-You're looking for some gore bloody anime with a decent visuals
Reasons NOT to watch:
-Inconsistent characters build
-Overuse of plot armor
-Rushed pacing of the empty predictable plot
-Bad sound effects with some mediocre OSTs

Review:
This is a good example of anime that's able to balance battles, political intrigues and social (facade) life, every single one of those aspects are well presented. The story are well paced at the beginning, but it's steadily getting faster towards the end, so much that it's getting confusing because they skipped a lot of details. Plot armor are unfortunately plagued this anime badly, it's used over and
...
over, but thankfully there's close to none plot holes as far as I know. The overused nudity though... I know they have it in the manga, but it's essential for the story, but here? Not so much, they added much more nudity than needed in the name of "fan service", but it just make the anime feels so cheap in the end of the day.
The visuals surprised me a lot, for this kind of anime, from that year, the arts are sharp, vibrant and looks like it from 2020 already. The animation are pretty fluid, and the battles are enjoyable albeit lacking a bit in the choreography department. The model used for the building and vehicles are highly detailed, not the most precise one, but definitely above average compared to other anime. The quality are also consistent between the battles and non battles scenes, so a pretty good overall visuals.
The music are okay, it's able to support the atmosphere and story to some degree, but unfortunately it's just not memorable, because I already forgot the OSTs just a day after watching it. The sound effects are meh, the weird choices made some sound effects felt out of places, it's so random... The seiyuus are doing fine for most of the time, but sometimes they just lack the tension needed, but it's not much, so I can say it's a pretty good performance both for the voice actors and the sound director.
Conclusion:
Reasons to watch:
-A vampire anime that balance politics, battles and social aspects
-Great visuals
Reasons NOT to watch:
-A rushed plot that's rather confusing if you don't read the manga
-Surprisingly lack of battle scenes for the genre
-R18+, not suitable to watch with your kids

An adaptation of a well written webtoon couldn't be bad right? That's my thought before I started to watch this anime. My thought couldn't be more wrong than this, just right from the beginning they skipped a lot of things. I, as a reader are a bit confused because of the hole of details here and there, I can't imagine how much worse it get for the non
...
reader, and I see close to 0 improvement in this area until the end of the show. Honestly, the story is great if it's adapted properly, but with this poor adaptation, I can say it's anything but good.
The visuals are improvement compared to the first season of the webtoon, but the animation failed to follow up with it, the smooth animation present in the trailer or PV didn't exist outside of battles, the animation quality are appalling considering the promotions for this heavily slanted to this exact area. Can't say anything but the adaptation of the character designs are true to the source, the same goes for the tower, at least it didn't skimped in putting details for the background.
The musics are big misses for me. When I listen to it by itself, it's a good songs, but inserted into the anime, it just didn't fit at all, not only it failed to help me immersed in the anime, even worse it detract the immersion from it. Rarely have I met songs that contradict the anime so much like this. Mind you that Stray Kids is a good band, but their lack of experience in anime OST made it so clear, that you can't just make any good songs and it will fit with the anime. The voice acting are average, which surprised me due to the line up they chose, so most likely, once again, the fault lied on the director and/or sound director. The sound effects albeit a bit above average, sadly failed to help to give tremendous lift of quality for this anime.
Conclusion:
Reasons to watch:
-Fast lane to catch up with the webtoon (albeit lots of details will be lost)
Reasons NOT to watch:
-You can't bear you favorite webtoon to be butchered
-Underwhelming visuals
-Hard to follow or understand story for non-reader

Review:
The story premises are not something special or out of the place, but somehow I’m still enchanted, until the 3rd or 4th episode that is… because after that the characters didn’t get any kind of growth that they feel so bland. My main complaint is the MC, the MC didn’t get better but regressed to the most generic MC ever, how can a character didn’t grow but instead
...
regress… The jokes albeit funny at the beginning becomes boring after a couple episodes because it’s just the same jokes repeated over and over. The mystery tag should be removed in my opinion since the story (including the ending) are one of the most generic one a.k.a predictable. One thing I need to praise is the fact that the director still able to balance the plot and the comedy well resulting in a decently paced anime without glaring plot holes.
The visuals are nothing short or breathtaking, the choice of color palette with tendency of crimson color are ingenious. It’s able to visualize both serene romantic atmosphere but also the creepy dark atmosphere. The city although not explored are drawn pretty well from afar. The only place with details are the clubroom, the school itself mostly left unexplored. The character designs are okay, it’s definitely a good characters, but they didn’t have their own characters that made them unique compared to other characters. The animation are choppy by today’s standard but still enjoyable nonetheless.
The theme songs are outperforming everything else in this anime in my opinion, with a strong opening like CHOIR JAIL and ending like Calendrier, this is a strong OST line up, especially the ending, sung by 2 different persons, the original one, sung by Okui Aki gave this strong hateful vengeful feeling, while the other sung by Hara Yumi, gave this peaceful serene feeling, same song, same lyric, different singer different feels, thumbs up! The sound effects are also very supportive to give eerie creepy feels at some times, and soothing feels at the other, so no complaint here. The voice actors are also not left behind, it’s on point for every scenes, the fear is there, the serious tone is there, the jokes is there, every expression are acted perfectly by them.
Conclusion:
Reasons to watch:
-You’re looking for some horror comedy (similar to Hanako-kun) with romance involved
-Anime with great visuals
Reasons NOT to watch:
-Predictable ending with mystery tag…
-You’re looking for some pure horror anime
-You hate dense clueless oblivious MC having harem
