excellent animation and sound effects without any particular story line and dialogues.

Both are animated videos by Studio Ghibli (Producer of: Spirited Away, Princess Mononoke, My Neighbor Totoro, etc). Iblard Jikan: A moving paint with sound and music hung at your house showing you a beautiful world from another dimension - give a calm feeling. On your Mark: A short animated story between 2 policemen and a winged angel. Theme Song is "On Your Mark", a song by the Japanese rock duo Chage & Aska.

Both are made up with the help of paintings and thus are extremely artistic and symbolic. 1001 Nights is perhaps more surrealistic as it touches the world of unconscious... anyway, both are just stunning in the way the best masterpieces should be.

Both are created in an extremely artistic style and resemble an animated picture gallery more than just a cartoon.

I dont know if its a coincidence, but the world of iblard jikan makes me remember the world of Shizuku's story, in whisper of the heart.

Plot-wise they are not similar, but the colourful artwork in Iblard Jikan is reminiscent of the beautiful backgrounds from Casshern Sins and I'd say the overall mood is the same. Both feature great background music which creates a wonderful atmosphere. I'd say if you really ENJOYED Iblard Jikan, Casshern Sins may be your cup of tea.

Both are simply stunning in terms of their visuals, however Iblard Jikan doesn't really have much of a story to it.

Like Kujira no Chouyaku (Glassy Ocean), Iblard Jikan is another short animation (Ghibli) with a marvelous OST set in a beautiful world of magic and colour. The art and animation styles are very different for each, which is a nice contrast. Kujira no Chouyaku is a world of bright, bold blocks of colour (usually mono-colours), with emphasis on line and shadows (I recommend it to fans of graphic novels and comics), while Iblard Jikan is set in the style of a Sureal-Impressionist painting due to the amazing style of artist, Naohisa Inoue who created the paintings used for the animations. I think those who love colour,  read more

Iblard Jikan is a triumphant wonder with a marvelous OST (composed by Kiyonori Matsuo) and set in a beautiful world of magic, wonder, and colour envisioned by the imaginations of Sureal-Impressionist painter, Inoue Naohisa who also created the paintings used for the animation. Hoshi wo Katta Hi is the second short animation to be lovingly crafted and by Inoue and was directed by Miyazaki Hayao. The music is composed by Yuriko Nakamura & Norihiro Tsuru and it is lovely! The art style is very different from Iblard Jikan and takes on the usual Miyazaki style. This is somewhat regrettable (how rare to hear one say such  read more

Although they are both very different, I got a very similar vibe off both of them. Maybe the odd landscapes or something. Enough said.
