Potemayo

Slice of life awesomeness although one of the two is completely underrated. 

Many parallels could be drawn between these 2 series: -Based on 4 panel strips. -The art styles, while not identical, remind me very much of each other. -Both school/slice of life, obviously. -Extensive cast of supporting characters. Nearly every character no matter how minor, has a set of personal quirks and traits that add significantly to the humor and overall feel of the show. -Lead character (Konata/Sunao) lives with their single father, mother deceased. Potemayo lacks the constant barrage of pop-culture references seen in Lucky Star, but ignoring that the style of humor is very similar. Potemayo's cast, in terms of gender ratio is more balanced; it has some moe females in it, but they aren't the overwhelming majority. Lastly, Potemayo has a definite strange/bizzare/LOLWTF factor that is absent in Lucky Star. All in all, if you liked the humor and visual presentation of Lucky Star, Potemayo is seriously worth a look. read more 

The humor in the shows is similar. They both have seemingly innocent premises, but have a bizarre, perverse feeling to them.  

Both shows feature a magic heroine of unexplained nature. They share a common recipe of moe innocence x SoL x smart slapstick comedy of anarchic, double-layered jokes with deadpan delivery and pitch perfect timing. Neither has a real story, but also has too much development to be merely episodic. The creative anarchy, visual gags and surreal situations ring a similar string in me, and in both this results in laugh out loud reactions. If you like the humor of one of the shows, you'll like the other. 

Funny, cute and above all, uplifting. More inventive with their comedy than you might expect. I expected these shows to be nice watches without being anything spectacular, but I enjoyed both series more than I assumed I would. 

Potemayo features the chibis Potemayo and Guchukou. Dejiko is a little like Guchukou when it comes to random eye beams. Puchiko is more like Potemayo in certain ways. Both shows feature cute main characters and the individual episodes don't really have a plot, but are just fun to watch. And Potemayo has 20 min long episodes, wich is a pro in my opinion.
