Both are whacky, surreal comedies that involve female, human-like creatures who never get explained.
The humor in the shows is similar. They both have seemingly innocent premises, but have a bizarre, perverse feeling to them.

Both shows feature a magic heroine of unexplained nature. They share a common recipe of moe innocence x SoL x smart slapstick comedy of anarchic, double-layered jokes with deadpan delivery and pitch perfect timing. Neither has a real story, but also has too much development to be merely episodic.
The creative anarchy, visual gags and surreal situations ring a similar string in me, and in both this results in laugh out loud reactions. If you like the humor of one of the shows, you'll like the other.
