its Parent story to Toaru Kagaku no Railgun, its mostly same, but Toaru Kagaku no Railgun i about a girl who is one of secondary mane char's in this anime, but Toaru Kagaku no Railgun she is main protagonist, most of the story takes place before Toaru Majutsu no Index story begins. Some people have powers, some people don't. Toaru Majutsu no Index is more action-oriented, both shows are as much about relationships and people as anything else, this anime also has religion in it, mane char girl named Index some others chars then English Anglican Church & Rome Church, ton't want to spoil so i  read more

The setting is similar, Girl has a power, that power makes life super hard, makes friends, deals, tries to be a normal person. Kotoura-san is better though. Muuuuch better, but that's okay.

(This recommendation includes Mission-E as part of Code-E.) In both Code-E and Elfen Lied, secret organizations collect girls with special powers and perform brutal experiments (more implicit in Code-E). Some people in both fear a new kind of human and the resulting possibility of extinction, which lets both shows examine human relationships through the lens of differing humanity. They also examine human character and flaws, though Code-E's outlook on humanity is considerably less grim than Elfen Lied's.

Both shows explore relationships between people. In both shows, the main character must learn to deal with being different from those around her. Both characters have trouble with controlling emotion that creates an element of comedy (though in Ebihara's case, the output of her ability is directly connected to her emotional state).

It's funny how Code-E reminded me of Read or Die straight from the Opening. The art style, the feeling... it's really hard to explain how they relate. Supernatural abilities; being controlling paper or emitting electricity from your body... that's the most logical part of what both shows have in common. If you're watching Code-E and like the 'feeling' of it, R.O.D. is a must for you! If you're watching R.O.D, you might have some interest in Code-E (but I must warn you, it's a step down from R.O.D!)

Both have the theme of the main female character having the natural ability to control elements.

Although these two are different by reality and fantasy they both include the misadventures of friends and are both quite enjoyable. Both stories are centered around two girls of both which the guy falls for.

It's about high school girls. And they are set in a not too distant future with advanced technology in school and throughout their lives.
