Rance 01: Hikari wo Motomete The Animation

Very simple, characters are kinda similar although Rance is more tame. Rance 01 has less plot but it has more "plot" or action if you know what I mean. Both series are in a fantasy setting and the MC is obtaining his own Harem. 

Both are exaggerated power fantasies with male MC screwing around all day. 

the whole plot of redo of healer feels like a convoluted plot for a dark fantasy hentai, while rance 01 is a hentai with a plot made for an actual anime (minus the ecchi). 

Main character rapes people and don't give a fuck about them. The animation is fucking great and the main character is a lot times better than kaiyari. Rance 01 is a really good hentai with beautiful and sexy female characters. 

Both shows are very comedic. The main similarity is the protagonist, Kazuma in Konosuba and Rance in well Rance. It's eponymous. Rance's character is able to carry the franchise alone. Both protagonists are young men, Kazuma is about 16 whereas Rance is in his 20's. They live life on their own terms. The difference is that Rance is able to get away with it better. Both shows occur in a fantasy type world but the protagonist in Konosuba is transported from our world to the fantasy world, Rance is not. Both men's actions could both be described as "questionable". Rance is basically Kazuma's character taken to the extreme. Whereas Kazuma is pitifully weak Rance is not. Rance is very strong which compliments his character greatly, although it's unfortunate for everyone around him. Konosuba has several developed characters but Rance focuses primarily on Rance himself and few others except maybe Sill. I can't believe I'm saying this but Rance actually has more of an overarching story whereas Konosuba is more episodic. Both shows focus mostly on comedy and there are few emotional moments. If you like Rance you'll probably like Kazuma and vice-versa. I enjoyed both shows greatly and laughed throughout. They are both worth a watch and Rance is only four episodes so it won't take up much of your time. read more
