Aki no Puzzle has A LOT of flashing lights and colours, so be warned. If you're high or drunk, you should absolutely watch these two back to back. Please watch your sanity levels if you're not one of those two. These are both creative masterpieces created by philosophers.

Both are works of the same author, of course, so, they both feature (at least apparently) random imagery. If you want to experience hallucinations in form of animation and you want to see the avant-garde among avant-garde, you are in the right place. Okay, but at least Good-by Elvis and USA has some sort of meaning.

Abstract. Where the art only lives on connotations. Past the irregularities, distortions, and unearthliness, both Puparia and Aki no Puzzle are abstract pieces of works that are so intrinsic, that they may or may not mean anything. But that is for you to decipher what you can. Take the two as a task or what is to know and is not to know.

Experimental shorts with too many flashing images in both. At least Haruko no Bouken despite the randomness has identifiable objects and people, which is an achievement compared to Aki no Puzzle.

Both are shorts that have literally nothing but flashing images. Not suitable if sensitive to flashing images.

Abstract. The art of not making any sense. Aki no Puzzle and This is Not Blue are both shorts that have no real intention of making logical sense, throwing random bits of art and animation together to make it something worthy of a "unique" watch. Flashing lights in both. Otherwise, enjoy what surreal behaviour they bring.

Misunderstood. From what I have seen, people look at both of these anime in the wrong way. Both Ai and Aki no Puzzle are actually more intricate than meets the eye, maybe nothing too alluding but enough to make it obvious that it is a different kind of visual experience. Both are good forms of art that take on something no one really tries to take. Creating one of a kind experiences.

Also a short film containing abstract flashing imagery

If you... "enjoyed" the Aki no Puzzle experience, you shouldn't miss the uncensored episode 38 of the Pokémon's original series, "Dennō Senshi Porygon". There's strong seizure in both. I hope you don't watch this seizure stuff, too.

If you like ugly shorts, ugly by nature yet engaging due to alien origin, Aki no Puzzle and Yoru no Okite offers some high-quality trips and experience quite like nothing traditional anime could provide.

Short film with trippy imagery
