Short stories about dealing with death, involving a shinigami that appears before people that are close to their death and that only the main character can see. Usually that person is some close to the protagonist, and the episode then focuses on their relationship and unresolved conflicts.

Both are psychological anime about shinigami (death gods) that only selected can see. While in Death Note the main character is trying to kill people, In Kuro no Sumika he´s trying to save them.

"Kuro no Sumika: Chronus" and "Your Lie in April" / "Shigatsu wa Kimi no Uso" each revolve around a unique secondary school student who has had bad experiences throughout his life. The death of someone close to him has been an issue that has traumatized the respective protagonists for years, in which both must overcome.

"Another: The Other - Inga" and "Kuro no Sumika: Chronus" are works that revolve around the theme of death, where the protagonist possesses special eyes that allow for identifying people close to death. Both anime have similar themes like death and emotions. Kuro no Sumika is about shinigami, Kamisama about "gravekeeper "
