Both are comedy about cute girls doing cute thing. In both, girl form a band/indol group. Both are music and slice of life.

Both deals with Idols (how they are formed, how they practice, what songs they come up with etc etc) only, Wake Up Girls is more realistic and they deal with really serious problems. The animation may not be on par with Love Live but its still worth watching because we get to know how idols really have it in the real world.

Love Live! and The iDOLM@STER both have idols with the purpose of reaching their goals, mostly becoming the #1 most famous idols in the entertainment business; have a lot of Slice Of Life elements with comedy and music sprinkled on top of them and have origin stories behind some (if not all) of the characters present in the animes. Only difference between The iDOLM@STER and Love Live! is the fact that the former is based on the namesake video game series only released in Japan, while the latter is a multimedia project with Sunrise and Lantis.

Both idol shows follow similar patterns with showcasing the drama behind each of the idol members, with the overall goal being to become the top idol

A group of girls are presented with a golden opportunity, and can have their wishes come true.

Group of young people with colored personalities do idol music. Uta no Prince-sama is quite close to being a gender-switched Love Live, with main difference being that while the girls of Love Live stand alone, the boys of Prince-sama flock around a girl self-insert character. Expect a lot of dancing scenes.

i choose Love Live 2 because this season was going to be focus on Love Live where all the idol club in Japan will be battling with each other to know who is the best of all, just like Kiniro no Corda: Blue Sky battling against different classical music club and become the best, and the only different is the character personality and the music genre...and i love the music of both :D
