Both shows follow a singular "ace" that progresses through tournaments and becomes increasingly better at soccer. Whistle is a little more on the realistic side (and also more childish), whereas Wild Striker has a few "super" moves, but is also more fun and for a slightly older audience. Young kids = Whistle, Older crowd = wild striker.

Both are about soccer and both are similar.

Both deal with MC's that dream of becoming professional football players who work on improving these skills through sheer determination.

To be exact, there is only one similarity that I can think of. At first, both clubs had many members, but due to reasons, a lot of the club member left and both clubs had minimal members. - Bamboo Blade: a member was a sadist that scared all of the members away and the seniors were studying for their exams - Whistle!: Mizuno Tatsuya and Kazamatsuri Sho made a deal with the team captain that whoever won the match would be captain, but because the team captain loss and couldn't deal with Mizuno being captain, many members left Somehow, both clubs manages to maintain enough members to compete and  read more

Both are sport anime where main character is short and because of that looked down upon. Also both series are filled with positivity that makes you want to rewatch the show at least twice in your life. Whistle! is however quite old anime so you must really like sport anime to watch it.

Whistle and Hikaru no go aren't really the same but I know some people like me look for similiar characters. The two mains personalities arent the same but they both find a activity that they like and are determined to play/win. They both at first suck but then they keep practicing and eventually get good (although i think hikaru has more natural talent). Hikaru is a little better than whistle in terms of keeping you interested (i think).

Younger kids playing soccer, aiming to be the best they'll be. Both main teams start out without a coach, lose (obviously) and then get a coach that makes their teams even better. Main characters are very similar, also both shows have good girl characters.

Both of these anime revolve around sports, (Major is baseball, Whistle is soccer), but both of these anime also have that amazing quality where they have so much more to offer than just sports. There's a lot of amazing character growth and development in each anime, and I found Gorou and Shou to be kind of similar in their motivation and in their histories.

Whistle! is also about Football! But more realistic than Inazuma Eleven! Though the enjoyment is a little less! XD

Main character small, black hair, with a very familiar hard worker mentality. It's all about the love of the game and growing stronger a step at a time. Unlike boxing it's a team sport but the tournaments are still there and everyone's aiming for the top. it has many of the same sports morals, training, wins and losses. When the main character Kimitsuri(I can't spell it without looking it up.) gets the ball it's a very similar feeling. The crowd tends to roar everyone gets pumped up and he scores goals any way he possibly can using sheer stubbornness and  read more

Both animes deal with athletes with potential who end up leaving one school system to join another because they feel like their not good enough to stay and their journey to build their confidence and hone their skills in a new environment. Whistle is about middle school soccer and Oofuri is high school baseball, but their elements of team play, effort vs. talent, etc. in both.

Both of them are about football in school. So if you like Whistle you will be more impressed with Aoki Densetsu Shoot! ADS is more interesting and has a bit of romance in it

This anime kinda has the same storyline and its about soccer for those soccer fans. Although the main character isn't a genius like the main character here but its really interesting to watch and you can learn about the hardships of soccer or any other kind of sports that you are interested in.
