To be exact, there is only one similarity that I can think of.
At first, both clubs had many members, but due to reasons, a lot of the club member left and both clubs had minimal members.
- Bamboo Blade: a member was a sadist that scared all of the members away and the seniors were studying for their exams
- Whistle!: Mizuno Tatsuya and Kazamatsuri Sho made a deal with the team captain that whoever won the match would be captain, but because the team captain loss and couldn't deal with Mizuno being captain, many members left
