Both have the same elements: butlers , "bochan", bishonens, elegance, demons, contracts, fanservice with shonen ai background tones, even the fonts of the titles are almost alike, the same setting and feeling, with dark aura but with comedy very funny, the story in both are almost alike because of the contents. But I found Kuroshitsuji a little darker.

Both are supernatural fantasy anime with some comedy. Both anime have bishounens surrounding the lead character. However, Makai Ouji's protagonist is a male while Kamigami no Asobi's is a female.

- main character is protected by a lot of handsome and strong boys - set in a fancy school - both have demons and supernatural as the main theme of the story

Both animé involves demons and the supernatural. The main characters have powers and skills that are yet to be mastered. They have the same dark but also light atmosphere, in Makai Ouji's case and in Ao no Exorcist, that has characters that relieve the tension. Both has its funny moments as well. Although William Twining is an elite who is born to a prestigious family and possess above average intelligence, Rin Okumura is the opposite. Both have an interesting plot that I would watch again and again, so I would definitely recommend if you like the concept of demons.

Both are supernatural series with MCs who are reincarnations of important people with special powers, which consequently gets them dragged into a messy power struggle between good and evil. There are childhood friends who'll betray them, and unknown strangers who'll protect them - and in the end the MCs must choose whose side they want to be on. Additionally, both series have a cast full of cute bishounen guys with occasional shiptease if you're interested in that kind of thing - but at the same time, it's not too obnoxious.

Both have an English Noble family feeling to it. Power struggle in Hell. Light comedy. Although the story lines are very different, if you are looking for anime with a similar atmosphere and feel to it, try out the other one.

Makai Ouji and Natsume Yuujinchou are dissimilar in perhaps more ways than they are the same, but there is one striking similarity that I feel makes these two series connected. Differences: The vibes are completely different, as are the protagonists. Makai Ouji has a sort of ridiculous feeling to it, with characters so over the top as to seem unbelievable, as well as a protagonist who is centered around wholly unimportant things (such as his grades). Natsume however has very well rounded characters who in many ways lack the eccentricities of the characters in Makai, but are deep enough to seem real to the  read more

-The premise is quite similar - both have a human protagonist involved with demons - the ring of Solomon - the human is somehow special to the demons

Both have pretty guys as main characters. Both are colorful and pretty. Both are sarcastic and funny. I think you will enjoy watching them.

Animes with church themes, shonen-ai undertones and a stubborn, somehow childish, yet strong-willed protagonist. The comedy and drama blend is well done in both. Makai Ouji uses angels and demons while Hakkenden has youkai characters, but Christianism is present in some way. The stories are also similar in the sense that there's both a main story line ('Solomon's successor has born') and a main underlying motif, which would be Individuality and Death respectively for Makai Ouji and Hakkenden.

Strong willed protagonist from an aristocratic family denies the existence magic despite quite obvious involvement with demons/witches.

- Both have male leads - Shounen ai feeling - Male character protects other male character - Both of the male leads in No.6 are fighting against a government ( You can compare this to the angels in Devils and Realists)

Lots of bishonen and with a lot of shounen-ai hints in both of the anime.Besides, both also about demons and power with the main protagonists often being protected.

Lots of cute bishounen characters who are demons. All of them are brought together due to a certain event. The main character is linked to this event and must uncover the mystery behind it. There are yaoi like moments. Similar voice actors can be heard in both series.

Stories involving Solomon's descendants. They also follow an easy monster-of-the-week format.

This has nothing to do with demons but the style of animation is similar. One of the main characters goes to a prestigious school. The main cast from both series sing the opening and ending theme song too.

Similar vibe with demons/shadow monsters and a choosen one. In Makai Ouji, William is the descendant of Solomon and must choose his elector. One who will serve and protect him. Since in the Makai world, demons are trying to kill him and prevent Solomon's revivlal. In Monochrome Factor, Akira must become a "shin"- a creature of the shadow world- in order to help restore the balance. There are BL moments here and there.
