Shingeki no Kyojin

Centuries ago, mankind was slaughtered to near extinction by monstrous humanoid creatures called Titans, forcing humans to hide in fear behind enormous concentric walls. What makes these giants truly terrifying is that their taste for human flesh is not born out of hunger but what appears to be out of pleasure. To ensure their survival, the remnants of humanity began living within defensive barriers, resulting in one hundred years without a single titan encounter. However, that fragile calm is soon shattered when a colossal Titan manages to breach the supposedly impregnable outer wall, reigniting the fight for survival against the man-eating abominations.

After witnessing a horrific personal loss at the hands of the invading creatures, Eren Yeager dedicates his life to their eradication by enlisting into the Survey Corps, an elite military unit that combats the merciless humanoids outside the protection of the walls. Eren, his adopted sister Mikasa Ackerman, and his childhood friend Armin Arlert join the brutal war against the Titans and race to discover a way of defeating them before the last walls are breached.

Attack on Titan stands out as one of the most captivating and thought-provoking anime ever created. With its intense plot, memorable characters, and stunning animation, it’s easy to see why it resonates so strongly with audiences, making it a prime candidate for being the best anime for me.

From the very first episode, Attack on Titan hooks you with its unique world-building and high stakes. Humanity is on the brink of extinction, trapped behind massive walls to protect themselves from giant humanoid creatures called Titans. The mystery surrounding these Titans, their origins, and the secrets of the world keeps you constantly engaged. The pacing is perfectly ... balanced, with action-packed sequences and heart-wrenching emotional moments that make you want to watch more and more.

Thats why i think this the best tv show/anime ever created for me.

Mixed Feelings

I liked the storyline. The atmosphere of fear and horror from battles with titanic creatures was conveyed well. But I do not recommend binge-watching. Here, the introduction takes almost 4-7 minutes, which includes a repeat of the events of the previous part and the opening - this is too much and simply not necessary! Each episode contains a few events and a lot of action, so it is difficult to forget what happened in the previous episode. This creates the feeling that the animators intentionally fill the series with filler inserts. Another bad thing about it is the cliffhangers. This is annoying in an anime ... about action. It feels like stumbling on stones.

Attack on Titan, where to start? After all the hype, I thought I was about to witness the greatest thing since sliced bread. Instead, what I got was a show that feels like it’s trying to be deep but ends up just being… complicated for the sake of being complicated.

The story is basically "humans vs. titans," but after a while, I started wondering if it was “humans vs. common sense.” Plot twists are thrown at you like confetti, and while some are cool, many just make you scratch your head and ask, “Why are we doing this again?”

The characters? Well, let’s just say if I ... had to choose between saving them or the giant potatoes in the background, I might just go for the potatoes. Character development is so inconsistent that I almost expected some of them to start randomly switching sides just to keep things interesting. And don't get me started on the endless, never-ending monologues about freedom. I get it, freedom is great, but at some point, it's like being trapped in a lecture hall where no one’s listening to each other.

Yes, the animation is top-notch, and the action scenes are intense, but after a while, the titans started feeling less like enemies and more like exaggerated plot devices. The show tries really hard to be profound, but sometimes it just feels like it’s trying to win an Oscar in “Best Overcomplicated Story.”

So, in the end, Attack on Titan is a bit like eating a 5-course meal where half of it is undercooked. It looks good, but you're left feeling more confused than satisfied. Skip it if you don’t want your brain to implode while trying to decipher it.
