Similar concept/scenario of criminals working for government

Similar in making the 3 seperate cyber police stories like it had in some '80s '90s OVAs. Shocking cyberplots, sick villians and lots of dark traits and betrayal wich the future police has is hands full on. Recommended for sci-fi fans.

Two of the better classic cyberpunk OVA's that I've seen. Simply put if you like old, gritty, cyberpunk with adult themes, great action, etc, you'll enjoy both.

Very similiar. Like one and you'll like the other.

Both old school cyberpunk OVA. In addition, they are both part of Manga Entertainment's cyberpunk collection.

Similarly styled action-packed science fiction story revolving around characters that aren't exactly good nor bad.

The 3rd part of Cyber City Oedo is pretty much the same in art style and characters design. Plus they both have vampires, spaceships and cyberpunk atmosphere.

Both are set in a dark cyberpunk future where crimes involving technology became a really serious problem. They also have similar character designs. It's a little bit more violent than Cyber City Oedo though.

Both were directed by Yoshiaki Kawajiri, animated by Madhouse Studios, and come from the early 90's. Both are ultraviolent, have great action scenes, and interesting characters. They both may not be THAT much alike, but I do think they would apeal to the same type of people.

They both are full of cyberpunk, science-fiction entertainment with very appealing and exciting characters. They also have amazing animated scenes to strongly compliment their stunning futuristic settings, and storylines that will keep your eyes and mind glued. I'd recommend either of them to those who love cyberpunk entertainment. Even though Cyber City Oedo 808 is not nearly as known or gets the praise that GITS does, they both are must-see sci-fi classics in my opinion.

Both Cyber City Oedo 808 and Wild 7 are old school anime OVAs from the 1990's. Both anime deal with the government using outlaws to stop criminals. They are also both action-packed anime filled with violence and blood. Biggest difference between the two is that Cyber City Oedo 808 takes place in a cyberpunk setting while Wild 7 takes place in a modern-day world. If you like one, you will enjoy the other.

Both are cyberpunk themed stories that focus around criminals having to do jobs or else face execution.

Both are cyberpunk themed stories that focus on outsider criminal type characters and lots of action and violence in it as well too.

In both series, rough-edged inmates are made to fight by their imprisoners, with lethal collars placed around their necks.

Edgerunners can basically be considered the modern and more complete interpretation of many of the same ideas as in Oedo 808. The universes are a bit different but many of the topics explored are the same. Both also focus on a cast of deep, interesting characters who are criminals and both deliver on some awesome cybernetic action! Also, if you enjoyed Edgerunners, then you've noticed that the Cyberpunk universe already pulls heavily from the 80s aesthetic, as most works in the medium tend to do. Well, if you wanted to see an actual 80s anime with this aesthetic and with similar themes and vibe, Oedo 808  read more

Badass-cops in cyberpunk setting.

Both of these movies are directed by the brilliant Yoshiaki Kawajiri. Oedo has a dark city setting just like Wicked City. Wicked has, of course, way more sexual events, but their animation are very alike. If you like one you will enjoy the other.

Both Cyber City Oedo 808 and Riding Bean are old school OVAs from the same time period (late 1980's-early 1990's). Both anime deal with outlaws working with the law to take out criminals. They are also both action-packed anime filled with violence and blood. Biggest difference between the two is that Cyber City Oedo 808 takes place in a cyberpunk setting while Riding Bean takes place in a modern-day world. If you like one, you will enjoy the other.

Incredibly violent late 80's OVAs. The dubs are the best way to watch both, because characters swear every other line and carry tough Brooklyn accents, which really contributes to the overall mood.
