These series take place in a dystopian setting where nobody knows what horrific direction technology will end up taking, but both series live up to the dystopian genre with the dark mood permeating everything.

Both are set in a dark cyberpunk future where crimes involving technology became a really serious problem. They also have similar character designs. It's a little bit more violent than Cyber City Oedo though.

Although not in the same quality at all as any Ghost in the Shell property, AD Police Files does cover similar ground with respect to cyborg/robot ethics and the definition of humanity in a increasingly mechanical world.

another cop drama with good action.

Dark dystopian futures ruled by fear of the "other", Psycho-Pass likely found inspiration in the AD Police series, what with the next generation of animators having grown up on the previous series. What AD Police brought to the table, Psycho-Pass gives a nice twist to.

A rather unorthodox suggestion, as Active Raid is more lighthearted while AD Police is darker, but both anime are police procedurals focusing on advanced police units who's job is to deal with technological threats. Both have a futuristic setting and are quite action-packed, although as I mentioned, AD Police is the more mature of the two.

Both the OVAs of AD Police and those of Burn Up! W are spin-offs of their respective original works (Burn Up! Of 1990 and Bubblegum Crisis of 1987 respectively), they share more or less similar police plots and also both franchises were also from the AIC studio. The difference would be that Burn Up! W managed to be superior to the original OVA and AD Police stayed well below what could have been.

Action-packed, buddy cop anime set in futuristic, cyberpunk worlds. They have a similar style and atmosphere, being great examples of a similar era of Japanese animation. Therefore, if you liked one, chances are you might like the other.

Similar cyberpunk setting with plots revolving around machines and humanity. They share much of the same overall feel.

Both of these Anime are from the 90's and has the nice gritty feel that doesn't occur in the newer Anime. Both series are violent and extreme when it comes to the plot line, not to mention quite tragic in the way they end. Both series include flashbacks to help build up the characters backgrounds and there is a high level of angst to the plots, not to mention the advanced weapons that the main characters fight with, as well as the over all damage each take.

Stories are about cops, but this is more of cyberpunk. If you like Wild 7, you will definetly like AD Police Files.

Both anime are OVAs from the early 1990's with similar animation and a similar vibe. Both anime center on people coexisting with machines, and the main protagonist in both anime must combat evil powerful robots. Both are violent and bloody anime. If you liked one, you'll like the other.

Very similiar in animation style. Story is a little bit alike.

Both are hardcore police anime, where violence, gore, and nudity are shown as bloody hell!!! These anime are only for the older audience with titanium stomaches and anime veterans!
