Watching Generator Gawl felt like I was watching a secondary story in the Guyver universe. There are a lot of similar idea's and themes, interesting plot twists in both that are pretty cool, some characters are pretty similar (especially Guyver's Mizuki and Gawl's Masami), and of course bio-mecha action with characters that transform. If you like any of the Guyver shows, definitely check out Generator Gawl.

Both of these two anime have a main character that can transform into a superhuman being and uses his power to fight against evil. They also have groups of people with superpowers trying to project humanity while hunting down other monsters.

A dark atmosphere, characters full of secrets, a reality constructed for the wishes of someone, interesting theories about time and people who want to escape of their own life. Probably, if you like rare thematics, these two are good options.

Both main characters have genetic transformation powers.

Both Baoh and Generator Gawl have protagonists that have superpowers and are capable of turning into monstrous beings. They both feature an organization which experiments on humans that gives them superhuman abilities. They are also both quite action-packed as well. If you like one, you will enjoy the other.

Both anime are produced by Tatsunoko Productions, and just like how Gawl transforms into a generator, Kyosuke can transform into the SoulTaker.

When you have an organization after you and you have a power that you aren't aware where it is from, but you fight for your life. Both anime's start from this plot, and if you like Guyver's tragic development into a powerful weapon then you will enjoy Generator Gawl for sure.

Both story's move right along; not one of those types where the publishers double or triple the number of episodes in the series to make more money. In both cases, replay value helps you pick up details you may have written off as plot holes the first time. Great opening and ending themes, both.
