The universe is a fucking big thing. Our Planet is a tiny little sphere in a tiny little corner of a mid-seized galaxy. And on this planet there are billions of people. People, each with a ghost and a mind of their own. Some of them are as tiny as our little planet. Others are bigger than our galaxy.
Kind of a hard knock in your face to begin with, hm? Catch your breathe, this was only "um die Spreu vom Weizen zu trennen" (german for sorting out the good wheat from the rubbish).
Mind Game is a move about life and imagination and as one can
...
see when this anime is rated with 7.something not everyone gets that. But if you weren`t knocked away from this review by that little punch above... I'm sure you will get it.
This Movie is about a young man who frees himself from the chains of fear that keep his actions in his head and hinders him from doing anything he really wants.
Then he dies and meets god. You should see this. Honestly.
And then the ride begins.
I think it`s around 90 mins of avantgarde animation so wild you could think you are on drugs.
But you don`t need to and if you will your brain surely won't be able to get along with the subtle and at the same time fast-paced story telling. Trust me. I tried.
Mind Game is another Masterpiece 4°C studio. They do all kind of artsy short movies collected in different packages like Genius Party or Animatrix but Mind Game is my all time favourite.
Here you get the typicall diversity of 4°C all packed in a big philosophical statement about life, about fantasy and about love. It`s so beautifull and disturbing. Just like life is.
I watched this movie 10times plus and I still get new ideas from it, for my own art and for my own thoughts.
This movie is so fucking special. One of my roomates suffers from minor social phobia and the depression that comes hand in hand with it. Last time when she was awake for 2 days and still couldn`t sleep I watched this movie together with her. She laughed and loved it. And she was so inspired by the main characters will to fight. Then we went both to bed and she is still fighting.
I stop this review here. I'm crying T.T.
Thank you universe... for this movie!

You realy hear a lot about Sword Art Online. It is in the top 10 of each anime site out there, most of the times.
And this is what makes me angry.
Because Sword Art isn't as good as the people make you think.
It is only watched so often, because so many of us have played online games themselfes or are still playing.
But even that isn't so big of a deal, because there are plenty of other fish out there swimming the same flow.
Boy gets transferred into MMORPG, levels up, kills guys. Girls on his way fall in love for his passion.
How unexpected...NOT!
...
Sword Art Online is just a highly budget mainstream shounen with a flat storyfiller. The animation is rendered, many might like this sharp style but I don't.
One good thing about Sword Art Online, is that it only has 2 seasons right now.
So you don't get trapped into the 400 episodes shounen black hole, if you already started.
If you didn`t, just look for another anime.

One question I ask myself quite often is:
"Why didn't you watch Tekkon Kinkret?" And I don't ask it to myself. I ask it to you reading this.
First of all Tekkon Kinkreet is made by Studio 4°C . The same guys that did Animatrix, Mind Game and Genius Party. If you watched any of these movies you won't need this review, because you already know that you should take a look at this movie. If you're fast, you may have opened the tab already.
In case that you don't know any of these movies... write them down. And watch them. They are one of the best
...
studios out there. And certainly one of the most excentric.
Now that you continue reading, let`s start with the review.
Tekkon Kinkreet is a tale so universal, it may be told forever. Or it may have been told since the begining.
The everlasting fight of dark versus light. Good versus evil, if you speak in human terms.
It is a tale about the fight that continues within us all.
The setting is an adventurous town somewhere in the near future. The main characters are two little kids. One of them forged by the streets and willing to destroy everything that comes into their way. The other one is a dreamer, so bright and so innocent, you just have to admire.
The adventure is fast and slow, deep and at the same time only scrathing the surface. It is a story about life.
Whatever you may have read about the art style, picture it yourself. 4°C Studios never went with the common way of drawing. They give their artists freedom and the possibility to express their own taste. In Tekkom Kinkreet you have a handdrawn and warm world, which may occur hastly and unfinished, but in reality is so alive and full of details.
Seriously guys and girls. I'm drunk. Very drunk. And I love this anime. I could continue this forever. Just do us both a favour and watch this move.

Japanese sense of beaty is a sakura(cherry blossom)-leave on the crumbling surface of a calm mountain sea. It is the soft and inspiring silk of a kimono so perfected that you stare endlessly onto it's pattern.
And Mononoke is japanese beauty at it's finest.
If an art professor would tell me that anime is stupid and childish, overexaggurated and that the same motives are repeated again and again, I would screm:
"NO! Here watch this and see..." and hand him one copy of Mononoke.
Because it is art and something unlike anything you have seen before.
The animation is untouched. The whole style of the anime is inspired by old
...
japanese paintings and classic japanese paper theater, while the story covers traditional ghost tales and the concept as a whole is so fitting. With the sounds of Kabuki added, you get a psychedelic adventure where nearly every still is breathankingly beautiful
.
Oh and the main character is so freaking cool. I'm talking about overpowered seinen coolness here and his style. His style, his voice, his actions. It all screams: "GODLIKE!"
I finished Mononoke yesterday night. 24 hours after starting it. And I'm gonna start again now with episode 1. Because this was the greatest anime I have ever seen.

Zetsuboshita! People giving reviews on the internet not knowig what they do, has given me despair(zetsubou)!!!
Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei deserves a proper review. All these guys below me didn't do a proper job. because you can't rate Zetsubuou-Sensei as a normal anime.
If you do, you give it a 6 or maybe a 7. It has no story at all, only introductions and the episodes always have one theme they go about.
There is no fights, no love story, no ecchi and the lolli they could have done isn't touched at all.
All the 7 remaining points might be given for the animations, because they are art in it's
...
finest way. All with that japanese sense for calmness and perfection and so many drawing styles. It has infinite.
But Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei has one thing above them all.
"Vegeta, what does the scouter say about this shows humour rating?"
"It's over NINETHOOOOOOOOUSAAAAAAAAAAAND!!!"
Sayonara makes fun of society and the people living in.
Imagine a classroom with a suicidal teacher so pissed by every inch of humanity that he tries suicide 90% of the time.
But the pupils in the class are all girls, and all stereotypes. There is one girl so normal and so happy it hurts. There is a girl showing her panties all the time while sueing everybody who looks and many many more. Together they explore japanese culture and modern life, while trying to keep their teacher from dying.
The show is firework of gags, running and one-timers.
It is a finger into societys face screaming:
"Look how stupid and ignorant you are!"
Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei is a boldheaded old man with sunglasses turning his head where a normal show would have his censorship.
Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei is the anime I would take on a lonely island with me.
And in my 15 years of otakubeing I have never ever seen a subtitle translation so perfected. They translated each joke and every written thing and explained a lot of the japanese language gags to the western reader.
There are more seasons of SZS and they get crazier with each one.
Give your best and see how far you can climb on this ladder of insanity!

Do you know that feeling you have sometimes while watching anime?
A feeling where everything is good in your soul... I get it most of the times by perfect animated backgrounds and the sound of japanese crickets in the summer.
Noragami gave me that feeling with every episode.
It's the heartlighted happiness that the main character Yato chose, besides his struggling of keeping alive as a god without any followers, that catched my heart. And while the anime continues you get to know what absolute coolness lies within this slackish behaviour, because boy has he some background...
He slays phantoms, dark and sinister beings that turn humans into
...
vessels of their negative emotions and cleans toilets and all for the ammount of Five freaking Yen.
The only thing that makes Noragami not a diamond so perfect that it blinds might be the story part. The side characters are left a bit flat, but that's more or less part of the comedy.
But everytime I put on an episode I screamed "JOSH, YATO!!!" or "YATO-CLUB!" with the victory sign on my hand.

If you love animes that have a meaning (and I'm talking about a philosophical one o at least an advancement of your own experiences) and you are not a girl (because I think a lot of shoujo animes ar like this but yeah for girls only) and you like crying, laughing, hoping and fearing at the same time AND you like japanese culture AND you are not mainstream, THEN Welcome to the NHK is your wet dream and a ressemblance of your life!
This anime is something special is a sentence you can find underneath each and every anime that is out there. Because, yes it's
...
something special and it different then other animes. But under this anime you will read the sentence:
Not for everyone!
And thats right. NHK is only for people that are or have been isolated because of the shackles of ones mind. NHK is for people that have lost their hope in humanity and NHK is for conspiracy theorists. NHK is for NEETs and NHK is for otakus. NHK is for hentais and NHK is for hikkikomoris.
Now you might think: "OMG! This might be so depressing and shit lulz. Kill yourself you litte emo c*nt."
No NHK is NOT for emos.
Because NHK is an antidote against all the things that I have listed above.
It's a story about Love and Losing with a male protagonist who exiled himself inside of his own four walls. And then comes a girl. So far so often seen.
But then there is Internet Porn and conspiracies, made up or not and the Japanese Broadcasting Company NHK and a lot of psychedelic encounters of talking imaginations.
But all in such a delightful and subtile way told.
NHK is so freaking great that I stoped at episode 23 because I didn't want it to be over.
I had to wait for a year and gather all my strength to finish this episode.
NHK is not for everyone.
NHK is for you! (Now that you fully read this text, besides its oddity and the japanese words for strange people. have fun ;))
IMPO-DES!
