Starting off with a full on blood bath, personally this set up is fun to me, since you're dropped into the start of the action and already know what you're getting yourself into, we are introduced to our main band of criminals about to be sentenced to death to retrieve an elixir to eternal life for some fat rich lord, their reward? a pardon for their crimes. The timeframe for most of these criminals are quickly cut short for those that don't take the center stage, we are given a short backstory for most of them to have us sympathise with the characters before they
...
are brutally destroyed. We learn about our main 2 characters, Gabimaru and Sagiri, getting a quick summary of what they struggle with and where they come from.
I took Gabimaru's entire character as a metaphor to no matter how strong someone is on the outside, there's always something deeper hidden under the surface, this goes in deeper depths throughout the show, having both Gabimaru and Sagiri struggle and overcome their weakness or learning to live in unity with what they would believe as "weak". Found it interesting harnessing your weaknesses to further push your strengths, but wasn't anything new.
Tone of the story is set with a mystery aspect to it as we later find out that the island is only but a religious monstrosity to experiment and control Tao, the power set in all living beings. Thought the story could have gone a deeper path than having it just be one big evil baddie and rather have it focus more on the mysterious island and power and how their 2 religions molded into one on the island and with it's inhabitants all that time ago. Missed opportunity in my opinion.
Animation is really well done and if you want to enjoy a high quality anime, then I would highly recommend Hell's paradise, looking forward to what season 2 brings and with a lot more questions to be answered, I can't wait to see where it takes the story and characters

(Mostly a negative critique, quick summary at the bottom)
Anti-gravity boots are at the center point theme, using special flying boots to get to school, Asuka our clumsy MC sees them for the first time (not really, as you find out she knew about them when she was little....) and wants to learn how to use them, later on she and her group of friends sees a girl at the beach challenging someone to a Flying Circus dual, learning about what the sport is, wants to challenge her, this leads to her scoring a point and sparking an interest for the sport.
Considering I watched this anime
...
dubbed, "That match was so exciting I almost peed my pants" sums up the dialog of this show, the characters were basic factory made to be liked, same copy-cat backstory for you to gain sympathy to every single side character, the main girl was basically the only one you should focus on, the rest of them are just a feeling of "wow they all knew each other as children and can't remember now, that's neat". These characters face a "harsh" backstory with the sport that left them unmotivated and having to leave it at an early age despite every single one having incredible talent for it.... oh how tragic.
Every match starts off with them going for the "floating buoys" and just ends up being a 1 on 1 battle of them tagging each other on the back, dodging and using special moves until one gains enough points to win, started off well having more strategy being put into everything, but ended up just being a brawl or "dogfight" between players the entire match, for me it just lost that "sport" aspect of it the longer the show went on.
The story message comes down to creating your own way of playing the sport and making it fun, that competition isn't everything and finishes strong with a cheesy heartwarming ending that "yeah, we are all just having fun at the end lol".
"Insert title here" was cute, can't stop myself from admitting that I actually enjoyed them duelling each other, overall it's 3 genres thrown into a bowl, barfing sugar into the mix and just stirring, about 15% Slice of life, 25% Sport and 60% Sci-Fi schoolgirl, the sport aspect is at the backend, where cute UwU magical girl sits front and center, it's nothing special, cool shoes, but rather watch something else.
If you enjoy magical girls, this is a lighthearted Sci-Fi that should come off as fun and enjoyable, if not, then it's not worth watching.

One of the more fun Isekai I've watched recently, doesn't take itself serious at all and just felt like a fun ride, story is pretty simple, otaku dies in his room alone, god gives him a second chance at life to realise what life has to offer, the exact opposite of what our MC wants, and so his quest begins to weasel his way out of all responsibility and ignore every duty that falls on his lap, with his little sister pushing him to be her hero and outside circumstances forcing him to intervene, we have a pretty fun show.
The more you watch the more
...
intriguing the story plot becomes, having to face his past as his birthmother becoming the main villain of this story, with the previous defeated demon lord being reincarnated as a student, it leaves a cool plot to look forward to, I doubt the anime will have a second season, but it sure was a fun ride, watching Haruto and his sister's antics fighting for JUSTICE, learning more about the backstory before our hero arrived in this world and seeing Haruto struggle to be a shut in Otaku, there's not much more to say than that it's a fun cozy anime with an interesting plot the further you watch. Jokes were cute and funny and personally would recommend it to someone as a fun anime to watch in-between of any major ones.
Although.... might be just my own bias for wolfgirls, but sure howdy did that first episode sell me on the anime ಠ‿ಠ

Real disappointment from what I was expecting, looking at the title and artwork for the anime, one might expect it to be about desserts, cakes and cookies..... in the end, it's plot is lost on itself. (if you rather skip the blabber, read the last paragraph, it's a 3/10 :P )
We're introduced to our main accruing characters, Pastry, our protagonist and his father Casserole (also a type of pastry, names are a bit odd, but cute, another character is named Brioche, another pastry dish), being reincarnated after suffering a fatal death by candy sculpture, Pastry is born into a low ranked noble house with a
...
dream of building a world filled with sweets and yummy food. After his father notices his talents after seeing Pastry's vast knowledge to grow more wealth for their family he is brought to the church, a bit early for his age, all suited up and ready to know how strong his magic is in this new world.
Replicate!
This new found power granted to our MC through the trial will soon become a stable throughout the show, a way for them to make more money for the house and bring more plot swings to drive us away from the more interesting aspects of what the show could have been, I felt drained halfway through, from the bandit attack against the village to the kidnapping of a noble girl, it ends up with our protagonist having smirky conversations with nobles trying to outwit them to gain money for his house, honestly wanted to just drop the anime halfway through seeing it swung to being about politics and Pastry just being witty with adults because his from another world and is smorter hehe....... also there's a bad guy bandit named Strudel.... enough said
I don't know where this story went, it's all over the place and it just lost my interest in every way, some character designs were cute, especially the mom and daughter, other than that it's nothing much, was expecting a fun anime about food, instead I was fed more medieval politics mixed with a little magic. It's nothing new and not worth the time to watch.

Really interesting anime, from a realistic viewpoint into economy and how modern concepts would fit in a dark age set world full of magic and finding ways to make them fit together well was cute. Felt like I was getting a fun lecture on the basics of economy, trade and how foreign affairs in a pre-industrial world would look like.
Finishing season 1 felt satisfying, left me wondering more about what would happen and where our MC was taking the kingdom, after starting off almost being sold to another kingdom by a bankrupt king and ending up fixing the starvation and money issues he gets crowned
...
king and gains a hesitant fiancée on his arm the story slowly progresses of him dealing with finances and trade in their own territory, growing tention and rebellion from the land's 3 general armies, a war is broken out and he fights them all through what I would say was an interesting and effective way of dealing with the conflict that sparked my interest even more.
The relationship between the king and his future queen was interesting, felt more realistic than just him gaining a harem and the girls falling madly in-love with them, her feelings of not really wanting to share her beloved, but having to accept it through tradition and duty.
Season 2 fell a bit off for me, again interesting season, from dealing with slavery (which took up 1 episode, but had a slight build up to it) to how disease is dealt with in a magical world, the season just quickly built up his harem, which we all saw coming and was a bit predictable, all characters so far though has been likable and interesting, which I would say is a plus for the show, other than the big wind generator (blowing-fan) at the start, the season was alright, not as interesting as season 1.
Conclusion, it's a good show, not something mind-blowing, but unique and interesting, would recommend as a comfy show to enjoy.

It's somewhat an oddball to a romcom, watching it felt like a Romeo and Juliet story, two sides fighting against each other creating a tention between their feelings, although the plot was interesting, I think they should have dropped the entire "war" element to it, the more they explained the conflict it just felt like tention was building up towards something bigger.
The characters on the other-hand was delightful, from Lily hiding her shame under domination to Yuuma being your average goofball protagonist with a slight teasing nature, i found the rest of the cast cute.... their charm is quickly hindered by their one dimensional characters,
...
the comedy on the other side was.... in a bad way, quirky to say the least, every single moment that any love was building up between the 2 main characters some washed out joke would come between them, this just shutters the feeling of romance for me throughout the show.
I do for one thing enjoyed the story towards the end, it set up an interesting plot to everything even though the feelings they had for one another didn't go farther than realising their love and a secret kiss from Lily at the end.
I would have rated this a bit higher if the plot wat a bit more refined and the comedy wasn't so in your face, but other than that, i somewhat enjoyed it

Honestly thought the show was cute, despite the lack of anything new to show for it, I enjoyed most of the episodes. As your classic trash Isekai go, this one filled the comfy style more, with a cute artstyle to it mixed with an overbearing amount of cute to go around, it's a show worth watching (If you don't have anything better to watch).
My main complaint would be the lack of story, Cain Von Silford, our main man... or child hero gets reincarnated after saving 2 girls from a knife stabbing (which he later finds out the guy would have tripped before trying to kill
...
them and he died for no reason - this point/joke would be pointless later on) as a child of a high ranked noble, being blessed by every single god of their world resulting in him being maxed out in all his stats, he starts off his journey one shotting a group of orcs and gaining +2 lolis for his harem, this would result in a continues cycle, kill monsters = reward, kill more monsters = gain his own land to rule over.
Halfway through this "exciting" story, the author seems to realise this story needed a plot..... so we end up finding out there was a reason he came to this new world and that he was the chosen one to fight and defeat this overwhelming evil god set on destroying humanity, he finds out that his parents came to this world before and died to save it, causing this evil to be locked away, now, ready to be unleashed upon this world yet again, our hero will gain an infinite amount of power and a handful of wives to defeat it.
So.... it's comfy, cute style, but nothing new to show for it, story is bland and only kicks in halfway through the anime, overall, i liked it, good trash Isekai for those cozy days you just wanna switch your brain off.

Dropped into another world, we don't get much explanation of how our hero arrive other than presuming he died in his other life as Isekai usually go, finding out he has received a quite unusual ability being able to purchase food from his home world through a online shopping interface, knowing that he needs to GO and DEFEAT the demon lord or whatever... he quits, because who wants to risk your life after being gifted a second chance.
Our MC, trying to reach the city hires an adventurer group to escort him along the way, using his skill, he cooks food for them on their travel
...
using a newly discovered and foreign food... Monster meat. The amazing taste and smell lures in a Legendary monster, the all but lovable and mighty Fenrir or Fel as our MC named him after they link a bond, creating a familiar contract with the monster.
This anime takes you through an adventure of food, playful and fun fights and creates a very lighthearted fun story where you couldn't know where the plot was going, but your enjoying the ride either way, if it's learning a new powerful skill or cooking up a mouth watering dish, this is as fun as it gets, my only complaint would be the main MC, even tho his lazyness and wanting the "chill" life is made thoroughly clear throughout the show, it gets annoying later-on, even after receiving elemental blessing from the gods (which he wanted but have no intention of using to fight), later our MC and Fel meets a small cute slime named Sui which joins their group on their adventures.... having skills that resembles another anime I saw before this "The Weakest Tamer Began a Journey to Pick Up Trash", with a fun group of friends and a few new cooking tips, what's there not to enjoy!
A more deeper dive into the characters, every character outside of our main group is treated as side and you don't learn much about them other than how they help and interact with out main characters, Fel is lovable and fiers as you might expect from a "Demi-god" wolf, Sui our adorable slime cleans up and eats any leftovers from the food our MC makes to feed Fel during their adventures, honestly enjoyed every episode, it's not your common jam packed anime with death defying fights and a mystery plot point, but if it's relaxing on the couch with a bowl of popcorn and some coke, it's a well recommended show.
Also I might be a little biased to wolf characters, so there's that :P

Lighthearted Isekai, Disappointing Execution
Even when I finished the show, it still didn't feel like a true Isekai. The otherworldly "reborn into another world" plot was introduced at the beginning with a secret the protagonist, Ivy, was told to keep. There was also a mention of a deeper dive into this plot while recalling a bedtime story from her early childhood, but this thread was quickly dropped and only came up briefly with no real impact on the story. Essentially, if it weren't for the initial mention of being from another world, the story would play out the same. I'm guessing this aspect is explored further
...
in the manga.
The main character, Ivy, has a tragic backstory. By the age of 5, she was expelled from her village after being branded cursed by the gods due to her 0-star taming skill. Hunted and wanted dead by the town leader, we later discover this leader was responsible for killing her friend and "teacher" and pinning the blame on Ivy.
I really enjoyed Ivy's story and following her growth throughout the series, from her unique design to how she deals with challenges.
However, the plot had some issues. Despite interesting characters, the focus seemed to be more on the journey to the capital than on character development. There was also a child trafficking ring crime mystery twist introduced in the town near the capital, which felt like a detour and dragged on for too long.
Another interesting mechanic was Sora, the slime, who could heal injuries by consuming potions and gain stats from them. This ability started out promising but wasn't explored further. Notably, the healing ability was overshadowed by Sora's "truth ability," which allowed it to detect if someone was good or bad. This plot point, used to identify watchmen involved in the trafficking ring, felt repetitive.
The story ends on a positive note with the town saved and Ivy and Sora continuing their journey. They've gained acceptance for who they are, and Ivy has found new friendships. However, the series concludes with a reminder of the cat monster she tamed at the beginning, a character who remained completely useless and only appeared sporadically. This reinforces the feeling of a story with interesting elements that weren't fully developed, creating a sense of wasted potential. Finally, if you watch the dub, be warned: the cat's voice acting is particularly grating.
