So here we go again with another Kubo Yuutarou's review of mine
This one is just a 30 seconds short
Nothing that special..just a figure moving along with the little beats of the music
but he follows the rhythm
Art and sound: I give it a 7.. It is still amazing because with a black background and a rough style he can still do a good job..it's drawn in pen with different colors used for different lines that intertwine and form our figure
The colors move away from that figure following the beats and then we have another little animation for the conclusion of the short
Enjoyment and Overall:
...
I give it a 7..I enjoyed this little piece of work...It's still incredible his style and how Kubo Yuutarou does things like this
Just watch it :D You won't waste those 30 seconds it's well done

So here we are again with another review of Kubo Yuutarou's works..I am a fan of his works of art and
This is the time for "Crazy for it"
So I rewatched this a couple of times and I think I got the meaning behind it..unlike 00:08 this was a bit harder to find
but In the end I give it an 8 and now you're going to find why:
Story and Art(Because like his other works the "story" is told with art, images and forms...or I must say in Yuutarou's case with over the limits and with extreme liberty of expression) I have to judge story and art together
...
and in this case I give those an 8.5
This is a short of 4 minutes telling the story of a man waking up every day and as he goes brushing his teeth we are suddenly transported in a very colored world with a very energetic music that follow our ride
The man every day as he wakes up he think about his limit in terms of creativity and he wants to pass then..he wants to fully express his art...he don't want any restriction in his daily routine
Yuutarou's works are all about creativity and themes surrounding it
and In this case it is stronger than ever..I must say that if in 00:08 we have a soft but yet progressive creativity till becoming insane and disturbing creativity that is troubling and "eating" the man every day bringing it to madness because he has to constantly put out ideas..fresh and great ideas because he has restricted times..here we have a different approach..we have our protagonist thinking about his creativity in a "light hearted way" and he wants to improve what he's drawing..what he's animating everyday and to test different methods of art..to be sperimental..why? Because he wants the best out of his art..and every day he pushes is to the limits..
Infact
we see a man running and constantly changing forms and colors..we have an interesting use of patterns and painting too..as we change background the techniques for drawing the running "stickman" are changing..and so does the camera shots.. those rotate everytime and the director tries to give us views from different places with different techniques
In a general way though the short like his other works are done with these characteristics: Rough drawings and style that wants to put out a lot of things..speedy and dynamic camera that expand and give views from different places..
In this case we have even changing backgrounds and a large use of colors..a wide amount of them..I just love those..we have like drawings done with blu pen or other pens..and that style it is awesome
What I love about this short is also the beginning with columns growing out of the ground..and Kubo's style in general to transform little things in bigger things
By little things you can reach bigger goals infact
The palette of colors is just so wide that I can't love this man
Plus Animations and Art + Music/Sound: I give it a 8/9 the music is energetic and it fits perfectly what this short tries to convey to the viewer..
as the man is every day putting out new and creative ideas..what I love about mixing the music and art in his style is that the art follows perfectly the rhythm and it deforms.
One thing to say about the art is the amount of things Yuutarou put in different frames..like the end part...he puts a big amount of different things..like planets..the moon...toys....and they alternate perfectly, they replace the original forms that delineate the drawing of the man
(this happens even in 00:08)
It is a very energetic rock music
SPOILER AND INTERPRETING/+ SUMMARY
So our man everyday is constantly putting out new and fresh ideas and he pushes them to its limits..thinking about improving everyday..till he becomes crazy about his passion and keeps sperimenting..in his daily routine
It all started a day when suddenly an impulse appeared and you start to make your creativity explode
The man that pushes to the limit can be interpreted in this way because he's not running in a normal way..his legs are pushed a lot forward
In a certain point we have a use of patterns inside the stickman that he's running and not a normal stickman anymore because compared to the beginning of the short he isn't that thin..this represent the fact that he's improving and constantly trying to that..
The only part that isn't convincing me for now is the one with the drawings of the girl..but anyway..everything is deforming a lot and I love it
Enjoyment: I'm a huge fan of his works..and If you read all of this you probably already watched the short..but I should say that I enjoyed a lot this short..I give a 8/9 for that
Be sure to check out his other works..in particular 00:08
Overall: I give it an 8 maybe 8.5...I love this approach to creativity..but I think I prefer the one in 00:08 because he has a bit more to offer
So if you want a very energetic short with pumped up music go for this and if you're willing to interprete it..go for it you want regret it
Thanks all of you that you are still reading this review..and please bear with me my inaccurate english..See you next review

So in this couple of weeks I have been watching a lot of shorts..in particular degenerated shorts...and Today I surfed the internet on Mal dementia genre and It immediately jumped in my eyes this...
00:08 A short that at first glance I wasn't sure about infact..a name like this seemed dumb and uninteresting.. but hey I was dumb and uninteresting for thinking this..infact then I read "an 8 second animation repeated in loop or it is all there?" This "summary" caught my attention so..
Thanks to my curiosity I started watching it and that thought I had just 1 minute before starting it dissapeared in an instant
I
...
voted it 9 after all
Why? I'm going to tell you why right now:
Story and character: I give both an 8.5(Animation are included to because the story is told with them :D)
We are introduced to a man(obviously main character infact is the only character here) who's apparently just drinking a Cup of coffee in an 8 fast paced animation..but then you'll find out that the same animation constantly repeat and you can see that something is strange... something is changing little by little adding new animation to the first one...alternating reality with fiction infact
As the animation constantly repeat we'll going deep into our protagonist mind and colors, fast and fluid animation, and even forms and geometric forms will go crazy as the short is proceding to its end
But why? Why? You're probably asking? The answer is that our protagonist is a worker and the repeating session of the same animation that it is mutating and changing and evolving and degenerating every time lets our viewer think that this man is extremely stressed by overworking(a common issue in modern Japan, especially in the animation sector)... I arrived at this conclusion because coffee isn't just a random drink put in the short because that's it..but it is usually drinked by workers to stay up the entire night and continue their work(this is common also not only to animators in general but even to game producers and animators and producers who work in a small studio and in a restricted amount of time for finding new ideas and build them to complete their project)
But that's not only it isn't it...infact the constantly repeating animation with added forms and parts espressed in a very free and not limited way..lets us think that as the 8 second of animation constantly repeat so does the worker day repeat again and again and again..he wakes up everyday and as he drink a cup of coffee to calm his anxieties and get rid of his daily stress
But not only they're repeating..it's because they're repeating that it all the days becomes monotonous and the man becomes tired and maybe even bored of his job.
But then at the end the degenerated and distorted..or even crazy animation stop in an instant...because one day he realised that all was pointless...that It was pointless to become crazy and so stressed at that point for what he loves to do...he loves his jobs and so those animation prove that this short was made out with great intentions
Infact the worker stops all the thinking...He doesn't drink his cup of coffee after that..he leaves it on the table because at the end he understand his mistake..he has to go to sleep to regain energy to start to work again and do what he loves to do..
Stressing himself to do what he has to do infact of course is not the way to live properly your life and to be creative(as this one short is..with literally life forms..geometric forms..colors changings..beautiful added scenes ecc...) as an animator and inventor and even if he has responsabilities health is the first thing to keep in mind.
Plus Animations and Art + Music/Sound:I Give it a 9 I absolutely love that style and I think It was great mixed well with genious use of music
What I must say about this short is that the animations and its pacing(yes its pacing) his managed stunningly infact..the music (that is perfect anyway) it build up tension and it can make you feel the pain and stress of the protagonist..it starts up with a normal and varied rhythm..infact sometimes it almost stops and so does the animation..they follow the music and its rhythm..even the form they distort perfectly and freely..and as the short was going I could really feel that.. every animation was in sync with the music and speaking of music this helped their continuous changing and evolving to become even better
For example lines that turn into a house that turns into a face all distorted through music
The use of colors..every one of them is different and they are varied as the forms transformed in other things in this little yet great short
SPOILER AND INTERPRETING:
Anyway the monotonous aspect of the days of the worker it is not a theory because it was proven by some scenes that shows you more than one version of the man picking the cup of coffee..also I know that he's a worker from a frame where you can see a man with a gray/black suit that literally means he's going to work and other figures around him.
SUMMARY:
So we can say that our "protagonist" wants to be creative and as the animations and music go insane his works do..he'll put out a lot of ideas everyday and he's overworking himself but at the end he realises that he don't have to stress himself because he loves his job and he should think about his health first and go to sleep..because at the end he, and every creator in general, aren't machines, the worker runs out of ideas..as it all stops and he decide to not stay up anymore.(he doesn't drink the cup of coffee and he puts it on the table)
Enjoyment: I give it a 9; 5 minutes passed like 1 minute..what I'm saying like 30 seconds because I really appreciated this work and I think it became one of my favourite so far
This is also pure creativity..from one thing to another..one thing represented in the next frame with other forms in the visuals..TRULY AMAZING STYLE
Overall: I give it a 9/9.5; Kubo, Yuutarou this is the name of the artist and director and if you're going to like his style and shorts be sure to watch some of his other works too as I will do...("Crazy for it" might be for you!)
This is trully a great piece of animation that as to be remembered..and for what it has to offer I advise you to go and watch it right now..in 5 minutes you want regret this ride..you want forget this messages!
Thanks for all those who are still reading this and I hope you endured my inaccurate English .. sorry for that..I'll try to improve myself ;)
P.s.: You know what? I'm thinking about this short for days..and you can interprete it in a LOT a LOT of ways..I love this..I give it a 10 and I don't regret it

Iblard Jikan is a 30 minutes short anime film produced by Studio Ghibli, but less like anime and more I guess I should say like an art exposition...now I explain why..
Story: There's no story so there's no vote -.- basically there's a girl passing through different scenarious and kinda "futustic" and "dream worlds"..but there's technically nothing and not a single development
Art: I give it a 9, Iblard Jikan is to be seen when you want to relax(maybe in that moment of the day when you're really tired..so at the evening/night returned back home from work)and If you see it in that moment it can really
...
fulfill his task and exceed your expectations for that reasons
because it can offer you a wide variety of amazing, brightly colored and an infinite and amazing palette of those..but the art style fits not only the day shots but also the night shots because of its palette of varied color used from the purple to the yellow/green/lime.....
If you see it for relaxing, when you're tired also this anime can offer you a wide variety of amazing visuals and fantastic settings giving you an amazing travel along with thousand of colors and amazing techniques often different one from another.
Between this settings probably there are some of the best that I have seen just by a design, colour and structural level
These are imaginary worlds, of a futuristic nature or anyway they are some of those worlds that we dream will become reality..in this travel without story, characters and dialogues we're going to explore them together with an amazing soundtrack..that fits perfectly the atmosphere of each setting and personally I didn't even notice those 30 minutes of "short movie"..as they pass pretty fast
The various painting made by Naohisa Inoue are destined to different collection that are presented in different sections of the short film..each one of the section presents a different biome(or almost) and the transition from one side to the other is done along with the ost
Music: infact I give to the music an 8
Animation: They are the big flaws of Iblard Jikan..they are basically never present and used..except for simple vehicles movements and background characters..infact these settings and well drawn background are shown to the viewer with only still frames(or almost)
A part that I hated is like a 30 second's part where a giant flying insect is done with a terrible looking cgi that doesn't go well with the background and doesn't fit at all
Also the vehicles are done with the same technique but they are not as bad as that insect
Character://
Enjoyment: I give it a 7..It was able to relax me a little bit
Overall: I give it a 7.. In spite of everything..I give Iblard Jikan a "Give it a shot..relax mode" recommendation..you absolutely have to watch only for that purpose..maybe the evening when you're lying on your bed and you're going to fall asleep :D
P.S: Sorry for my bad english anyway thanks for reading till here

Dimension Loop is a Studio 4°C production also known for very sperimental shorts anime! Well this is directed by Kouji Morimoto the same that directed the animation in Mind Game
Story: I give it a 3/4 It is not a great story, but at least it is well paced and when they show the girl change sequence it's done well
Art: I give it a 6 I liked some part of it..I actually enjoy this art and this animation..the part with distortions are done decently and I actually liked how they started with reality and then went to "anime reality" in the very beginning
The best shots
...
are the change between one dimension to another..the animation and the parts done in black & white(gived me psycho pass opening vibes but they don't reach that level at all)
Sound: I give it a 6/7, It fits perfectly for me the tone of this short..also the volume goes up and down in some moment to give you that dark atmosphere vibe..the music also stops when it has to stop
Characters: There are basically 2 characters just an "alien" that invades the reality of a girl trapped in her reality..that girl also travels through dimension/time and space but the girl shown in the shot is for the most part just the spiritual copy of her(that machine on her head makes you understand it)
I guess the meaning here is probably the escape from reality.. but in this case there's something evil that tries to free you and that tries to put you back in reality(not that in anime or in a machine)
In this case this thinking is amplified with the fact that the short starts off with real footage but my understanding of the short maybe it's not the true meaning behind it..if it was intended to have it..this...because It is not that clear to understand..and the themes are not treated well..and not that simple to find those
Enjoyment:I give it a 6..although It is a disappointing short
Its 5/6 minutes just flow well and they didn't feel like 5 minutes at all..I was captured by the music and scenes that lead me to finish it
Overall: I give it a 5.5..it is ameh :D..but for 5/6 if you want some fast paced short than give this a shot(or a short in this case..get it?Or maybe I'm just cringy ;D)
So Overall it's a Watch it but remember it's still a meh for me -.-
P.S: sorry for my english and thanks for reading all of my speech

This is a short of 1:29 seconds long(around that time) made by Makoto Shinkai in the late 90's(1999)..probably one of the works done by just himself alone..thinking about things and relationships
First of all, I must say that the introduction with the airplain is good(surrounded by a rectangle and a light that gives you really 90's vibes)along with the birds that will be a continuos presence in this short.
Then with the train we got introduced to another theme that later on will be a main theme of Makoto Shinkai's works..such as distance relationships and love and all the
consequences and the effects it can bring.
The train
...
make us understand the pain of the distance also because of how it is done the art...infact the art done in a rough way and with a lot of chiaroscuro that give you such 90's vibes I talked about..the camera angles also and the change between scenes are done well with interesting and good shots that can give at least some thinking to the watcher.
The music are the best parts of it..I loved it with the piano fits the tone of this short pretty well(8 for me)and they mix well with the train departure and its travel
During the travel on the train, Shinkai often shows us(and also at the very beginning) the birds which means freedom and they make us understand the joy and the need to find your other self needed for you..and to be together with the other person..to be free to stay in a relationship.
Shinkai so tries to tell us that it is good to be attached to it although it can bring pain
Overall I give it a 6,It depends of the person you are but this can make you feel good or bad about yourself and positive in life..but for me it can't really last that long..not memorable enough...and I find it not strong enough to move a person
It is good short anyway..so give it a try

Onkyo Seimeitai Noiseman is a "Short Movie" of around 15 minutes.
It was produced by Studio 4°C an inventive and creative studio that I must say is composed of a capable and interesting staff.
Plot: In short it is about Noiseman a synthetic life-form that erased music and sounds from the airwaves
Story:
I give it a 7..Overall it's good infact it presents in a span of 15 minutes a really interesting story and setting revolving around the power of society and words, this is how I interpreted it. but in a strange way, the ending song helped me to think in that way , although It's good it is
...
like a short movie because with a lot of scenes Noisen can change tone and pretty quickly but not giving you a perfect explanation of what it's doing, you have to interpret it by yourself..although it is not complete at all..in a 15 minute time they did a great job
I call it a movie(short movie) because It is really fast paced infact in 15 minutes it change scenes from beginning to flashback to normal to development to end in a way that gave me some incredible vibes
Art:
I give it an 8... It is probably the best part of this short along with the music and effects and it fits the tone and atmosphere of the anime, I love the shots too..how they pass to a scene with a dramatical tone and one with a "pumped up" tone, I just love Masaaki Yuasa direction in art too and it fits perfectly what I was thinking about this short..It certainly add some good vibes to it
The character design is perfect too
The best parts are when the visuals are on drugs..just because Masaaki Yuasa's ability to deform forms is incredible and so, in situations where there are a lot of strange things going on his works are the best for that parts
Sound and Music:
I give it a 9, why? Because I loved it and because of Yoko Kanno outstanding music in general(So I give it a plus just because of him, listen to Yoko Kanno - The creation to give you an idea of what this man is capable of)..the ending theme made me think about some things that helped me reach a conclusion, the music along with the story change tone every time :D, it even stops out of nowhere to follow what is going on in the different situations(And that is the best thing about this movie along with music of very different genres)
Character:
They didn't explore much the characters but it's interesing Noiseman and his seach of the crystals, they don't have the time to shine and because of that I give it a 6(or almost 6)
Enjoyment:
I give it a 7 because I surely enjoyed a bit..the music, the plot the fast pacing and the art(which I love) are enough to pass a good quarter of hour
Overall: I give Onkyo Seimeitai Noiseman a solid 7/7.5 and I advise you to check out this interesting work..it takes you just 15 minutes and they're worth for me
