This is the counterpart to a manga that i reviewed some time ago, so here we go again.

This manga and the counterpart Prayers manga are some of the memest things i have ever read in my life. They are about one of the 3 aligments representatives isabeau gets none, ofc, but who cares about her anyways. So the manga follows one of the 3 characters you can side with in smt 4, but no worries you don't need have played the game, so what the fuck is the manga about then.

So an alternative timeline or rather the main character has completed the ... game too many times and now he has control over it or smth, i don't get it either. Anyways walter our main character has now a childhood who is 100% lawfag friend (a woman, not Jonathan) and together they join the samurais and things go south from there, since walter can't control himself and now he is part demon.

Like the prayers manga this manga premise is quite pointless since they try to make a counter to walter personality, guess who is still on the manga, YEAH MOTHERFUCKING JONATHAN who does nothing. So there is literally no need in this or the prayers manga to make a new character, because they could just use the characters from the game who are just fine and need no build up.

If you wanted to see a manga about walter get ready because half of the screen time gets eaten up but the rest is fine. Most of the story is fucking idiotic, but this is literally peak chad walter, the probably only life of walter were he does something relevant that doesn't involve lucifer or genocides. I think the rest is fine, they have to put angels somewhere without involving Jonathan, and they have to sometimes show the rest of the samurai gang so the story is quite convoluted.

Overall 6/10 a memastic 1 night read full of the only weat dream i can imagine, walter vs the minotaur.

soooooooo, someone made a manga about jonathan and another about walter from smt 4, but in an alternative universe were (i'm guessing...) law ending has alredy happened.

I usually work out the review a little more but this is 16 chapters long and somehow has very little actual content in it. The game is really heavy in its core and its an experience of its own, this however is just the dankest shit i have ever read in my life.

So the story follows Jonathan and his friends (including Navarre) from smt 4 plus one extra character that in all intends and purposes could be ... Walter, this new character was kinda hollow specially since Walter is A CHARACTER IN THE MANGA and it feels so unnecesary to have em both in an story. This random character made the experience kinda meh, because the man is so boring i get it, is a spin off or something and they wanted to do something different but jesus this guy just feels like a generic edgelord. And the antagonist is a mixture of Jonthan and Walter that did not need to be created, again if they wanted to make a extra story or something to Jonthan why not use Walter? i just don't get it.

Aside from the characters the story is fine, just fine. It was very random, and very dank. Jonathan was TOTALLY OUT OF CHARACTER, the ending was dank, flynn mistical bullshit was totally out of whack, and this is Jonathan side story so you know BY THE POWER OF JESUS CHRIST and friendship. My favorite piece of dialogue is when Walter says something about how terrible the genocide is going to be, and yeah Jonathan is the one who stops said genocide *chef kiss*

Should you read this? Probably not. Was it fun? Maybe, sometimes, smol Jonathan was really cute tho, big jonathan was equally as cute.

As someone who has yet to play the games but knows a lot of the smt franchise, and about the plot of the raidou kuzunoha my review might be a little off somewhere, but this manga was fully readeable even without playing the Devil summoner games.

First the devil summoner games are part of the Shin megami tensei franchise, The 2 games we are concerned about are the Raidou Kuzunoha games, each of the games follows Raidou Kuzunoha doing devil summoner stuff and protect the capital, just like this manga. The 3 stories are somewhat disconnected and as far as i know they are fully ... understandable without knowing the other 2 parts, in the timeline i think this manga would be the third in order following a neutral ending in the games, which also connect with The if game and the Persona series. How does this affect the plot of the manga, im pretty sure it doesn't, but its a thing.

Anyways to the plot of the manga, its really simple, there is this really cool guy who catches demon pokemon style and uses them to fight other demons and devil summoners, and protect the tokyo of the 30s. Japan in the 30s is the coolest setting i've seen in a manga in quite a while, The events leading up to the WWII are not mention, and even tho raidou looks like a militar thats just his HS uniform, so everything cool. In this setting you can see the clahses between modern imperial japan and older traditional japan. I also recommend you get a good translation of this thing as it has elements of folklore and traditional japan.

Raidou himself is a realy cool character, he is the silent kind, that does cool things. I mean he has demons, a gun and a magical katana, cooler than that is hard to get. He is shown to have a kind heart and moments of weaknesses.

Another cool thing abou the manga is the art, its really neat, its not glorious but its better than the average, and some of the demons look just perfect. But its also really bland sometimes IDK i just feel its missing something to be perfect.

Now onto the plot itself, its really meh i wasn't exactly biting my nails about it, but it wasn't boring, has some interesting moments. But the story doesn't really play itself smart in anyway. In my modest opionion this would probably have suited a game better than a manga in some parts of the plot. Its supposed to be a mistery, but the mistery is mostly a guy telling raidou what happened

Moving on, the rest of the cast is really meh, some really get on my nerves, (og morgana wtf). Im giving a free pass to the detective guy since i haven't played the games and it seems he could play a major rol in those. Most of the girls are fine with me they can start annoying but get good with time, Gouto is MUCH MUCH MUCH better than morgana(not hard ngl) and the rest of the cast is just okay, well rounded characters i guess.

The probably best thing of the manga is how much fun this was, like the plot might be meh, but i had genuine fun with it, i just had A LOT OF FUN with it. Its a manga about hunting demons down, and all the demons are part of mitology and aren't your average nine tails fox, or your sexy sexy greeko-roman mitolgy. SO if you are interested in that give it a go.

Overall, really fun manga, Will play the games, recomended read if you like persona or smt

OKAY so this is a review combining every danganronpa 3 anime and i will avoid major spoilers in every one of them except hope arc (will have its own section dw) wich is the tecnical ending of this bullshit, and im not going to hide it, this anime is BAD. (Still major spoilers if you haven't played the games before)

Art and animation

its very bad, somehow i've seen other animes of this studio and they are never this bad. The overall drawings are bad, the animation is clumsy and even the lipsync is terrible AND I DON'T KNOW HOW CAN IT BE THIS BAD. Sometimes ... the anime will stop like 5 seconds or more in a terrible drawn frame and you who are staring at your monitor will feel even akward for staring at it, sometimes the 3 lips forms they have for each scene will match so badly with the sound you might as well be watching a low quality dub. The animation is almost the worst thing this anime has spawn and i don't understand how it got this bad with so much budget.

Story

in general BAD, specially future, you see danganronpa is about people solving problems talking, in wich right mind decided to make future about running away from the superpoweful guy while kirigiri did her own things. Future is the worst of this cluster of anime and it is because how it develope the plot, unlike the games you won't get the chance to solve the mistery first you will not get to see the clues until everything is alredy solved which is lame, and most of the time they will be just fighting so it's not like the mistery matters for the creators.
the way the plot develops is very problematic as you realise how stupid is everyone of the new original characters, this roaster of new characters does nothing but disturb the plot development and im serious with this , they will develop stupid plot twist because they are new and they can do whatever they want without being subject to the general rules of danganronpa, so their plot develops in such a way they get into the middle of important details.
In the end if you are like me and prefer the open end of the games don't watch this series ( unless you really really really like chiaki and want to see her humanself) , the reasons behind this are most of the plot are things we either know from the games, so its just expading from there or is a weird nonsense of the new characters which not gonna lie are pretty bad. Really the plot is all over the place is really random.

charcaters
I DID NOT LIKE THE NEW CHARACTERS. They are super powerful and don't feel like they belong in danganronpa, they are very unidimensional which doesn't help at all.
For the rest of characters from future they well......... one is a mary sue, one is makoto naegi and the other is a pretty good support to makoto naegi and will indeed support makoto naegi, yea she does nothing else. The other 3 are well doing things i guess , the only one having an excuse being toko who is with Komaru and does something, they alredy got their own game so its normal they only appear once.
From dispair I find those are fine, not good , not bad just fine , i like the way they develop some subplots and i find other a complete disaster such as anything involving komaeda in this anime.

For the hope ending ( SPOILERS COMING)
Im going to tell the truth this is not the ending i wanted to see to the class of 77, and the plot twist of the animator is just retarded. The thing with this ending is i don't think the 77 class belonged in this ending either, they appearing is almost as random as whatever the animator guy pretended. Also they forgot what komaedad did and i feel so weird about it, like Komaeda didn't kill anybody but still... the things he did aren't something i would forget so easily, i know komaeda has no bad intentions but he made teruteru kill that guy and he wanted to kill someone else, and the entire bomb things. AND THEN THEY REVIVE KIRIGIRI and the end. Yeah its just that 77 class appear and saves the day, which i find unnecesary, and then they revive kirigiri.

In the end would i recommend this anime as a whole? NO I WON'T, but if you want to see the 77- class yea that part could be fun its not terrible i guess.

if you are searching something with short chapters you may like this one.

characters aren't really that great but they do extremly well their function wich is making you laugh and have a good time wich for me is enough.

The story is average even for a slice of life not bad not good, but a good read for those times were you can't just watch a full episode thanks to it being a 4-koma format, but due to that it losses a lot of potential for a better development.

Art is also average, better that i expected tho and its very catchy to the eye even ... in full black and white

finally i would say it was extremly enjoyable even with the lack of own character and development but unlike something like beastars it won't provide you of a story you will read 60 chapters in a row without getting a bit bored.
