[SPOILERS AHEAD]

What can I say, I had unbelievably high hopes for Toradora. I just looked at this show and I immediately wanted to watch this because it looked and seemed like a fresh and fun romance, that has its needed drama elements to keep it entertaining; yet it ended up being one of the biggest chores that I had ever had to watch. This ain't just gonna be a review my guy, this is gonna be a whole ass rant, so clench your butt-cheeks and prepare for this crappy lesson about how to mess up a ... great show.

PLOT (simplified as hell):

Toradora bout Taiga and Ryuuji. They have crushes on the others best friend, so they try to set the other up wit they best friend and you can prob predict what happens next yadda, yadda, yadda-- sounds cool right? Next.

EPISODES 1-10 (estimate):

Toradora was everything I thought it was gonna be and more during the first 10 or so episodes. It was funny, entertaining, had intriguing and enjoyable characters (Taiga being my favorite, Ryuuji close 2nd).

Yeah, my complaint is not about Taiga as a character and how I think she's "annoying and basic", I throughly enjoyed her character and she was legitimately fun to watch. Adding on top of that, Ryuuji was also a character I throughly enjoyed, and Minori was a fun character with some of the best writing in the show.

I thoroughly enjoyed the hell out of all of this. I was telling my friends, family, and probably your uncle bout this show. My only wish was that Taiga and Ryuuji would have at least more than just like one good moment wit each other and thas it. How could you mess this up?

PROBLEM #1: PLOTHOLES

No one really seems to point this out, but WHAT THE HELL IS THIS WRITING? There is just too much stuff in the 2nd half of the show that just flat out make zero sense. Stuff like introducing characters and placing them into an important role in the story, then the next second forgetting them completely, to randomly saying Taiga is moving, and then it doesn't happen, but then PLOT TWIST, she moves at that worse, most inconvenient, confusing part of the show called the ending. And people are praising this show for it's excellent writing? Either I'm braindead or there is some extra explaining that needs to be done.

PROBLEM #2: PACING

Arguably the most important thing to keeping a show entertaining is good pacing. When do we learn? When do we learn to not mess this shit up? Like man, how do you even compare the pacing to something? Hmmmm... lemme try putting it this way:

The pacing is slower than Shaq running (and not Lakers Shaq, I'm talkin present Shaq after a couple of donuts). Yeah, I said it. If you don't know how slow that is, let's say a turtle with a brick taped to its back is about as fast as Shaq running.

When the show goes from a great comedy with a excellent premise to a absolute disaster of a melodrama, the pacing takes a swan dive off Mt. Everest into the Earth's core. Just thinking about the pacing buts a bad taste in my mouth. I should say that yes, I am quite an impatient person, but this is just ridiculous. In a anime that focuses on the romance aspect, why the hell would you not focus on giving the characters more moments to let the watcher know: "Hey, things are actually progressing!". Of course, too much of this just makes the show annoying as well, but all they needed to do was put something on the table to keep the shitty melodrama watchable, and they just couldn't for some reason.

PROBLEM #3 (and the biggest): SUDDEN TONE SHIFT

Remember like 10 seconds ago when I was talking about the sudden switch to comedy to melodrama? Yeah, it's a pretty big problem.

It's not easy to describe the tone shift other than just saying it's sudden and makes the show just feel like filler in the 2nd half. And what does filler do? Make great shows less great It's just bad. I thought everyone knew that sudden changes are quite often one of the worst things you can do to a series. Getting an audience familiar to one thing and then just saying "Scratch that, let's just start a whole new show with the same title" (talkin to you SAO). It's not as bad as Sword Art Online's abysmal sudden tone/storyline shifts, but it's undoubtedly bad.

PROBLEM #4: THE ENDING

The ending is one of the worst and most confusing I've ever seen, without a doubt.

You know that feeling of working on something with a passion for a long period of time, just to lose all your progress and have to start it all over? That's how the ending to Toraboring is. Yep, you just watched 20+ episodes just to have it utterly ruined (for me even further ruined) in the last two episodes.

Wait, you're telling me there's people that actually like the ending to this show? I get it, like we all have our opinions, and that's fine, but for this? Man, I just don't know. It has been a minute since I've watched this show, but I still to this day have never understood why the hell the ending is the way it is.

CONCLUSION:

I don't like this show if you couldn't tell. My personal rating for it is a 2.5/10, but for the review, my rating is a bit higher, but I can't go much further than that. I really liked the characters, I thought the art was good, the soundtrack was aight, but the show? No. I can't say I liked it much at all.

I would reccomend this show to some people I guess? It might be for some people but I just can't see why people like the 2nd half and the ending of this show, and if anyone wants to point anything out to me that I may have missed, go right ahead.

Weathering With You is a solid movie. Yeah, that's about it.

This was my 2nd time watching an anime movie in a theater, I paid a ridiculous amount of $18 for the ticket, and I can't say I was majorly disappointed, but I felt like there was so much that it could have done better.

Weathering With You is a near carbon copy of Your Name, with the only thing being different is this time its rain...

and its raining...

a lot.

Though unlike its predecessor, Weathering With You lacks the "I'm takin' ya to Flavor Town" flavor of Your Name; though to be fair, it is near impossible to ... match Your Name's flavor levels.

It's like drinking a cup of water when you're REALLY thirsty, and it's just not enough to quench your thirst, and then you realize you have nothing else to drink.

Also the first 20-30 minutes of the movie was pretty damn boring. It was so strangely boring that I can't think of a metaphor for it.

So, is Weathering With You a bad movie? Of course not chief.

There wasn't much humor, but when it was there it hit well. Clever jokes, great timing, and non-repetitive. Honestly, I was impressed with the amount of times it made me laugh.

The animation was-- well I mean c'mon, this is CoMix Wave Films we talkin bout here; the main characters were really damn memorable, as well as some of the supporting cast, and the music wasn't anything crazy special, but it was still nicely timed and most of the soundtrack fit really well with the constant changing of moods in the story.

Overall, Weathering With You is a movie I'd watch once and I'd maybe think about watching again another time. It's a solid movie, it's worth the watch, just don't come in with the expectations of it being "The Next Your Name".

Solid movie, give it a watch.

You can make something groundbreaking by doing nothing groundbreaking and everything else really damn good.

Just a quick heads up for anyone who may want to watch this movie: DON'T WATCH THE TRAILER. The trailer for some damn reason spoils the entire movie and makes it not near as intriguing to watch. I'm glad I didn't watch the trailer until after the movie.

I am just blown away about how surprisingly spectacular this movie was. Looking at the score and the reviews, I thought this would either be a disappointing, boring ass movie like Shikioriori or a real solid, heartwarming movie like Summer Wars; and it was ... none of the above.

I deeply ADORE this movie and Science SARU has become one of my all-time favorite studios.

Yes in fact, the reviews do speak the truth; the movie does nothing groundbreaking, but DAMN IS IT AMAZING. The writing is maybe slightly above average, the plot has been done a million times before, the execution was exquisite, the character design is simple, but beautiful, the characters themselves are memorable, the animation is so clean it puts Mr. Clean himself to shame, and I still can't get the soundtrack out of my head.

Does this movie deserve the score it has? In my opinion, hell no.

Ride Your Wave is one of those movies that does nothing different, but absolutely everything extremely well.

Do not sleep on this emotional, heartwarming mastapiece of a film. You may not love it as much as I do, but I can assure that you are in for a tasty-ass treat.

Welcome to Domestic Girlfriend, where every plot point is a question and every plot point is never answered.

Domestic Girlfriend was written by a horny prepubescent doofus who snorted a little too much nequick chocolate milk powder and got such a high that it can only be described as "exotic", and decided to make this absolute catastrophe. Honestly, if you've seen the show and didn't know who made it, you probably wouldn't be surprised if that was true.

How in the actual hell did someone come up with this? No seriously, this is some impressive garbage. Garbage, but it's so garbage that I can't even begin to comprehend how this man/woman thinks. This dumpster fire makes Naruto filler and Orange Is the New Black look like modern masterpieces.

In as short as I can possibly summarize the "plot" of this show, it's about this scumbag named Nastuo who has "deep feelings" for his teacher named Hina (for what reason; I have no clue), and then sleeps with this chick named Rui (who is the only slightly tolerable character in this show yet gets treated like garbage on a stick). Then Natsuo's dad announces that he is getting remarried to a woman named Tsukiko. Why specifically these three names? Well let's see the last names' of all three of these characters.

OHHHHHHHH NOOOOOOOOOOOO...

Yep, this show is about stone-cold incest and parents so clueless that it should win them both an Oscar. And if that wasn't bad enough, let's get into the flaws of this nuclear wasteland that some people actually call "entertainment".

Other than the god awful plot, there is really just three main problems.

Natsuo
Lopsidedness
Hina

Natsuo Fujii is the worst main character I have ever seen. This man is an utter piece of garbage, he knows that, he doesn't careabout that, his character design is as generic as can be, and his personality is so bad words can't even describe it. Let's see, Natsuo is boring, clueless, lustful, annoying, bitchy, a dumbass, and an asshole. That's all I gotta say bout him, there are literally no pros to this scumbag. It should be obvious why he's my personal least favorite character of all-time.

Lopsidedness may be an understatement. As if this show couldn't get any worse, it does. Even though Rui is a complete suck-up (calling her a simp would be an understatement) to Natsuo in every manner and is the most loyal chick on the planet (who also has the worst taste), Natsuo treats her like a tool and a sandwich maker, and nothing else. Rui is literally one of the only reasons this show was slightly tolerable, yet she gets used like a maid without pay. INSTEAD, scumbag sucks-up to his TEACHER, yes, TEACHER, Hina, even though there is literally nothing special about her and he has zero reason to what actually makes her so special other than "he he, she's hot". Due to this lackluster decision by Natsuo, Rui get's treated like a punching bag for the rest of show (I mean ALL OF IT), while Natsuo continues to show off to the world why he is the scumiest man alive, and continues to simp like a loyal Pokimane donor after his, again, T E A C H E R (and stepsister I should add again). Natsuo would literally cut off his pp with a saw and sell his liver to the black market just to be with this uninspired slut (which she actually is, I'm not just trying to be offensive).

Hina. Man, Hina. Not only is Natsuo my least favorite character of all-time, Hina is one of my least favorite female characters of all-time. Yes, Hina is the textbook definition of a slut. Not only does she scold Rui for trying to make moves on Natsuo, while also making advances on him herself, she is also HAVING AN AFFAIR WITH A MARRIED MAN. Yeah, I rest my case.

Now period, Natsuo should just move on and find someone outside his family to date like a normal human being, but remember this was written by a even bigger lust-filled idiot than Natsuo himself, so that option has been off the table for a while because in the words of Rui Tachibana, herself:

"It's not like we're related by blood or anything".

This show isn't just appalling because of the plot, it's also just a horrible romance, drama, and comedy. Even if you removed the god awful incest element, you would still get a horrid show that doesn't know what it is and strives off it's shock factor-filled plot.

Mom, Dad, I am so sorry I watched this, please forgive my year younger self. I've learned not to watch stuff like this anymore.

Should you watch this? Absolutely not.

Utsu Musume Sayuri is the greatest mastapiece ever to have been constructed by mankind.

I can't believe that this show was actually made in the Stone Age. I mean seriously, we have popular anime like Full Metal Alchemist: Brotherhood, Naruto, and Kick Buttowski: Suburban Daredevil that were all made in 2000's, and none even come close to Utsu Musume Sayuri's utter brilliance.

There are even shows like Sword Art Online, Domestic Girlfriend, and The Office pretty much ripping off this show, and that's why they are the worst shows ever all time.

"So why does this show have a 1/10 rating?", you may ask.

Well the answer is quite ... simple, you see.

This show was actually made by rap/hip hop legend Papa John, but it was completely stolen by the show's "director", Takashi Kimura.

You absolute scum, you. How could you steal this absolute masterpiece from greatest wraper in the world? Disgusting.

This is probably not new knowledge to anybody, as this show has a rating just over 2 on MAL, but I feel like people have began to forget who really composed this achievement not just in anime, but in entertainment. Anyone who rates this higher than a 1, either didn't know that Takashi ripped off Papa John, or is just a plain stupid doo doo head.

It's only been a little over a week since I watched this. Yes, it took that long for me put into words how much I love this movie. Yes, I've heard the complaints about this movie being a bit unrealistic, along with its realistic themes, but seriously, I can't see how anyone can complain about this film.

Shouko gets a little hate for being used as a "damsel in distress" in most situations, which I think is plain stupid to be blatant. In a way, I saw similarities between her and I, because we both just kinda deal with getting picked on and keep moving forward. ... I really felt that, as in a way, as I can be quite a pacifist as well. Even though I'm definitely more assertive than Shouko is portrayed, I felt that connection deeply.

Ishida is seriously a blessing too. I was able to relate (and I think a lot of people could to at least one of these characters) in how we both made dumbass decisions that seriously affected other people, and it started to affect us in return. Of course, I have never done some of the stuff Ishida has done and I'm sure most haven't, but I surely saw this as a completely accurate portrayal of how your decisions really affect people. Easily one of my favorite main characters of all-time.

Seriously, think about it. One decision, no matter how small or insignificant it may seem, can seriously affect someone's life, no matter how small of an affect that is.

The turnaround of Ishida's character is seriously inspirational. Just seeing the burdens put on him, how he almost gave it all up, and how he fought through it all to fix what he had destroyed, just left me speechless.

I feel like the people who rated this movie lower than a 9/10, didn't see what this is all about in a way. The people that did, know they did.

I haven't even begun on the visuals and imagery used in this film.

Utterly. Damn. Fantastic.

You just need to see this mastapiece to really grasp it. Seriously, it adds a unique and perfect touch to a already beautiful one-of-a-kind movie.

In summary, this movie can seriously change people's lives, no matter if they love anime or hate it. I may have not cried like I did watching Your Name (another fantastic movie), but I can definitely say now after I doubted it for awhile, A Silent Voice is better than Your Name, and it is undoubtedly my favorite film of all time.

Watch this. It can change your life, and I can speak from experience.

The thing people seem to hate about this show, is that it's different.

Yuuta and Rikka's relationship is such a breath of fresh air. You see romances rush things like you're taking a dump and you got to catch a bus in 2 minutes, while Chuunibyou S2 comes in here and says "Yeah buddy, you gonna have to get that dumbass bs outta here. We know how to make good show. You lose, I win, bye."

And hear me out, I DESPISE slow pacing. Seriously, hate it. Naruto is a great show, but the pacing stops me from binge-watching it for more than 4-5 episodes. Toradora started ... off great, but I realized about 18+ out of the 25 episodes felt like filler for a rushed ending.

And usually, most romances will end once the characters finally get in a relationship, and the most they add to it after that is maybe an OVA or special.

Like I said, Kyoto Animations and Chuunibyou are different breeds.

They use the awkwardness between the two and of course, Rikka's eigth-grade syndrome holding her back from progressing in her relationship with Yuuta, as major plot points. Yuuta may be the one who pushes the relationship forward the most, but when Rikka has her moments, Rikka HAS her moments and they fill you up with hype like your ass is on Man v. Food when they happen.

I seriously feel like the pacing of this show, is it's biggest pro, not it's biggest con. I don't feel like it's extremely slowly paced, but yes it is slow, and for a reason too. Even in the show they express that most relationships that are rushed, end poorly, while being patient and taking it slow blossom the best relationships. And this show does excellently in that premise.

This may be one of the most hated sequels I have ever witnessed, yet even with some of romances typical clichés, this show feels like a breath of fresh air.

I will say it one more time, this show is a different breed, a breed not many people are used to.

And people probably hate that it's a little too realistic, who knows anymore.
