WARNING CONTAINS A SLIGHTLY SPOILERS.
My first review for MAL please don't be offended by my review i believe that all people have different opinions i also respect everyone's opinion about this anime.:)
when i watched the first episode of the show, i was mesmerized by its art and animation, i already knew it is worth watching. after the end of the first episode i thought RE:ZERO would be a matured psychological anime that would have a sensible character development in the story, this is where i kinda get upset.
Characters score-7.5/10
it is a really good start, all the characters are interesting they have their own unique characteristics, but
...
there will be a point where a character development would be needed so that the main character could overcome the problems in the series,
this is where i was slightly upset, it feels like the way that they develop the main character is very unrealistic for a psychological type of anime and it feels like it was forced so that the story could be kinda interesting and progress conveniently, there was a point that he need to overcome his fear and manage to do it easily, but at the later part of the story he still had the same problem and still struggle it with horribly.
Sound score-9/10
The ost in this anime is great it makes the scene more intense than how it should be,also it is perfectly timed in every scene.
Art/Animation-9/10
The art is beautiful it makes me feel that the environment portrayed the fantasy part of the story perfectly, the animation is also superb i cannot really say anything more.
Story-6/10
I am aware that the story is about how will the main character help and protect someone that is important to him and overcome the struggles in the process.
Like i said, my reaction of the first episode " i thought RE:ZERO would be a matured psychological anime that would have a sensible character development in the story" it has even a thriller tag.
and what i did got is your typical shounen anime where the main character is trying overcome the struggles and the female characters would cheer him and suddenly without even a good character built up or convincing explanation he easily solved it all.
it feels so cheap and forced how the main character solved the problem every time, its not like i hate the story, but i just don't like that even tho he almost submitted to the struggle, he easily solve them after a rushed/poor character build up and poor explanation.
i even felt that the drama was forced in most of the situations.
Enjoyment-7/10
I still enjoy the story overall, i really like the relationship development and also i don't have problems with harem (i wasn't just expecting this to be one of that)
art/animation is great, i mean as long as the anime has great art and animation i would pretty much watch it.
Overall-7/10
i thought it would be a serious type of anime with amazing character development and drama scene that would portrayed main character's struggle and overcomes it realistically while presenting every little detailed how he manage to come up to that conclusion.
But to be honest i would have given it a better score if i was expecting it to be a harem, character that unrealistically solved the problem to make the plot convenient, plot armor.forced drama.
its not like i hate those kinds of things, i actually enjoy them as long as i am expecting it to be like that.
i also dont know why this anime has thriller genre,
this anime is more like a harem, romance, drama, shounen, fantasy.
also please no more harem+psychological it just don't mix well together.
