I'm gonna get straight to the point. Fruits Basket is a masterpiece. From the plot to the visuals and music, everything is perfect.
Don't get tricked by the posters, this anime has way more to give. It isn't just some reverse harem romcom anime, there's so much more to it. This series gives so much information it makes you cry. From the first season off, we get Momiji's backstory, Tohru's backstory, Yuki's backstory, Hatori's backstory, Hanajima's backstory, Kyo's backstory and more. This is what makes Fruits Basket so great. We get the story of almost every character, and it helps us understand what went on

in their lives to do the things they do.
I stumbled upon this masterpiece when I was looking for cute romcom animes to watch. I did not watch the original 2001 version, so I jumped in, knowing nothing. The first season was just a tease, learning about the zodiac and Shigure's plan. The second season came in 2020, covering the summer arc. We get introduced to some new characters. After the summer arc is where the angst breaks through. (I won't mention anything from season 3)
I honestly don't get why people hate Tohru so much. She's gone through so much yet she's such an angel.
In the end, this is a beautiful love story and everyone should watch it at least once. (hopefully this didn't end on a strange note)
