Safe Again Today is one of the few manhwas i have enjoyed so far. The story revolves around a unique and interesting group of individuals, the human-bodied aliens and their human "manager" Sera. At first, I thought the story would focus on how the protagonists would manage to be "safe again today", that is, conquering every endeavor and keep their identities secret. But the story seemed to bend towards character development. Having said that, the manhwa is character-driven as every chapter presents a growth in both personal and social aspect of the interplanetary visitors (although not all) The manhwa is comprised of 14 chapters (each
...
with 20 to 35 pages), too short to hold a plot that possesses a lot of possibilities. It provides a glimpse of the characters' past life but does not completely unveil the whole story. it leaves the reader imagining so as to compensate for their unanswered questions.
Most of the problems weren't completely resolved, although they made it look like it seemed to be. The reader would notice the aliens' longing for their home and it was quite heart-breaking that they appeared contented when the truth is they are tormented by a past they can never compensate for. The aliens showed an unconditional love for their home planet; that no matter how much hurt the people inflicted on them, they would always accept and want to turn back to the place they were. There were parts that had me confused but i found myself a past time by pronouncing the alien places and names.
The mix of the alien characters seem to have a weird chemistry interesting enought to hold the reader. I liked how they were portrayed in the manhwa, although i did not have the chance to see their real alien forms (which is a disappointment T^T). Their human appearances seemed to justify for their personalities. They had special abilities, although not really conspicuous and used in the story. Sera, on the other hand, is actually the real protagonist in the story, but the aliens seemed to pale her role. She's unjustifiably kind! there was not a single phase in the story that she deviated from the calm, giving person she is. The last chapters hinted on her love interest, which i think could have worked if the manhwa was longer. Her love interest enters the story as a fiend, but bended (i think?). It was mentioned that he had a past lover who, for some reason, he sarcastically says could have been better dead. His side story would have been great as well.
My bliss was short-lived as the manhwa ended suddenly. And I seriously wanted more! D:

okay~ gravitation.
i was buying DVDs one day and stumbled upon this one. seriously, i did NOT know it was shounen ai. it must have been fate that brought us together :)
better that i said it earlier, it was shounen ai, not yaoi. (aww, makes me sad)
plot: 8/10
i found the story cool actually. i mean a writer falls in love with a singer? that isn't one thing you'd see in everyday life. but when the story gets a move i found myself bored because of the love-hate relationship. sort of like taming a dog using the candy and whip. but the latter part was a surprise
...
:)
art: 8/10
the art is good enough for what it's worth, which pretty much means... uhm. if you've seen sukisho, it's kind of like of the same level, only with darker shades and cruder details. but if you haven't, i think it is safe to say that the art is "cute". haha. ugh. words fail me.
sound: 9/10
since the main character is a singer, then expect songs! but not too much amount of songs. haha. yeah. just right. i didn't placed much attention to the seiyuus so, sorry about that. but the bg music doesn't affect much.
characters: 9/10
i don't have anything much to say about the characters. i didn't like yuki's (seme) temper =__= i found myself shocked whenever he turns cold towards shuuichi. but i couldn't bring myself to hate him because he says too much pick up lines. haha. shuuichi is your average clingy uke.
enjoyment: 8/10
well, it kept me pretty well entertained for the time being. i wanted more action actually. =__= but it provided more fluff. haha. i think it's good for those who cannot handle yaoi but likes shounen ai.
overall: 8/10
compared to other shounen ai anime i've seen, this is probably one of the best. there are only a handful of such anime, so i'd recommend it to those who likes shounen ai. i'm influenced heavily by the art and story so no surprise about that :)

hmm. be-boy.
i thought this was yaoi, but it's just shounen ai. makes me sad D: anyhow, this is pretty old and i didn't know why i watched it. perhaps out of boredom? haha. okay, on to the story.
from the title, you'd pretty much know what the plot is about. right! kidnapping an idol! nothing surpising about that. art is meh. i don't know what to say =__= considering the year it was made, i think it would have been good but then, i have a lot of bias for this so.. if you're too picky, then i think you wouldn't like it much. sound is
...
*whew!* i felt like i was really going back in time. haha. i enjoyed it for the little part but it was sorely lacking in many faculties. there's no helping it though.
wow. i actually made a pretty long review for such an old anime.

okay.. death note rewrite.
part 1: Visions of a God
from what i gathered from its title, i thought it'd be something different but it was not (see synopsis) but nonetheless, it was nice. i kind of regarded it as an overview of DN. i was kind of interested only because of the new character but there wasn't any development either. the story stops right after L and Watari died.
it's pretty much the same DN, only compressed. which leaves us now to just one question: should you watch it? uhmm... let's just say you wanted to rewatch DN.. then i'd rather watch the rewrite. other than for
...
that reason, i think you'd find yourself disappointed like i was.
oh, but wait! i think there is a part there that you souldn't dare miss! hahahaha. yeah. another face-writhing reaction from Kira. other than that..no more :)
part 2: L's successors:
the second part is definitely better than the first..or so say. haha. i have a personal bias for L. if you like L, you'll like the second part.. or not; he does the narration for the first ten minutes. i watched it english dubbed, and it still is good.
it's the continuation of the first part, nothing changed except for a slight flashback at wammy house. i was expecting more of near's and mello's perspective but there wasn't enough. i think this version was easier to understand compared to the original.
my review doesn't justify for my rating, doesn't it? that's just me. haha.

okay..seitokaichou.
well, i don't know how to start. haha. there are so many things i want to say, let alone the spoilers i want to place but that'd be unfair :p
please be aware that this is YAOI we are talking about, so if you don't like yaoi then please head on to your next selection :)
plot: the story is quite typical actually. school setting. what makes it special is, let's see.. there's a.. *beep* that *beep* his *beep* haha. okay. so technically, there's no surprise to anything (oh is there? *smirks*) i just like to overrate okay? no harm in doing that.
art: ooh~ art is good!
...
if you watched kirepapa, then that'd give you a concrete idea since the anime was produced by the same company. yeah. i like men long and slender. i watched a censored version of this one so i don't know much about those *cough* scenes :) (can you believe i watched it CENSORED and there was actually such version?) haha. but better watch it uncensored if you want full satisfaction! (what the hell am i saying?!)
sound: *cough, cough* SOUND?! =__= this is the least i would want to talk about. haha. close your eyes and you'll definitely imagine what they're doing. haha! no. i was kind of irritated because one of the characters was saying things syllable per syllable.. and you can actually hear the seiyuu's breathing. i don't know, maybe that was intended? yeah. everyone sounded seductive :p
character: nothing special actually. just your usual student council pres and v pres. i like how they look so.. don't mind my rating :)
enjoyment: GAH! who wouldn't enjoy this? the humor's light so i think it's good. haha.
this is the longest review i've done so far so does that mean it's good? well see for yourself! :)

okay.. death note.
this is a first time i've given a ten-sweep although overrating is a hobby of mine. ehe ^__^ but that's just how i think highly of it.
death note is not your ordinary anime program. i mean, who would have thought of world domination using a notebook (refer to synopsis)? although the plot may sound simple as that, the series is entirely NOT simple! haha. to put it into understable terms, it's a work of a genius! my words cannot fully capture the extent of its majesty! you have to read and more importantly, undestand the dialogue if you want to hold onto the
...
story.
the art is far from conventional. haha. i didn't know how the characters writhe their faces into those funny (yet scary) reaction. haha.
this has also been one of the rarest anime that made me aware of the background music and other small details. very fitting.
(my supposedly review turned out to be a fan letter! haha :D)

'mkay.. darker than black.
to be honest, i wasn't at all excited when i started watching this. but when i finished the first episode, i had to see the next, then the next then the next... okay, to cut it short, i didn't notice i was done with the whole season. yeah, it was that interesting. i can't think of an anime similar to it right now, but i think there is... BUT Hei is so cool! haha. i like to patronize weird but strong characters. Hei reminds me of L Lawliet from DN because of their eyes... okay, they're both cool but Hei is supernatural..
...
wait, L is supernatural too, right? i mean, his mind is... okay, enough of that.
if you like action and supernatural (and astronomy), you really should view this! it goes a bit gore-y but compared to others, it's bearable. i just got a little caught up by the plot. @__@ but i think, you'll eventually understand. i'm slow to pick up so i think understanding wouldn't be a problem for you. ehe. i think that'd be all for now.

okay.. code geass r2.
ahh.. the sequel of code geass *dazed* the plot is still as magnificent as ever!truly unpredictable :) things were going too fast, my mind wasn't able to catch up. haha! i kid. it's difficult to make a review without spoiling but that's the way things work. *sighs*
art is still of good quality, and music as well. OST has just got better. yeah. i guess it really did. i don't know what more to say.. it's just really fantastic and mind boggling. haha! so watch this if your mind isn't as stressed out as mine. tehe~! :) that is all.

okay.. angel sanctuary.
story: 10/10
when i first read about it, i was turned off by the idea it was incest BUT nonetheless interested. it deviates from the norms of society, you might get a little shocked about it. i'm a traditional person so it was difficult to ingest it to my system. ehe. but the supernatural side is also another noteable feature. it is one that attracts most of its viewers.
art: 9/10
art is actually good too! considering the time it was produced, i'd say it was one of the best. even now, the art isn't as far from what we're seeing. although you'd see some
...
slight errors in animation, it still is acceptable, if you ask me.
sound: 8/10
the seiyuus were able to deliver their roles well. there weren't much music to this but it's fine for a passive listener like me :p
enjoyment: 9/10
being it a 3-episode OVA, it must not waste even a second and it really optimized the time given to it. when i got to finish it, i was satisfied although i know there should be a sequel to this. but it was fine as it is since they ended the season well.
overall: 9/10
i wouldn't say it is at its best. i wish they're going to remake it. (of course, that stays as a wish for the time being) but if one day, you're bored and you want to escape from reality, you should watch this :)
ugh. sorry, that was too long. i'm emotionally unstable right now. haha!

okay.. code geass.
who wouldn't know this? it's the best thing that has happened to me! haha. okay, too much for that.
code geass is probably the best mecha anime i've ever seen. the anime is high budget, so quality is remarkable. story is awesome! there is nothing you could complain about it. (i'm a dunce so there were instances when i had to replay the parts i didn't understand. haha!) all hail lelouch! XD (but i like suzaku better. haha!)
art is wonderful but their bodies are ugh. too sexy for me *nosebleeds* haha. seriously! i do not approve of some panels when their legs & arms
...
were too thin! but i know the difficulty of animation, so i let it pass :) the only thing i didn't like was nina. haha. sorry about that.
music was great as well! i couldn't complain anything. (that's because i'm passive, okay? lol~) i really enjoyed the whole season! it's good that they made the sequel fast. i didn't have to wait eternity for it.
