...then you might like Kimi ni Todoke add

Love and friendship is the focus of both. If you can't get around much in love, you can focus on your girlfriends instead. The difference is comedy. Lovely complex used comedy as an approach to love, while Kimi ni Todoke is more of a melodrama. But both are really effective. Both heroines are strong and independent. They have really good friends to back them up. And the guys are also really cool. Koizumi (LoveCom) talks a lot in person, but Kuronuma (Kimi ni Todoke) talks a lot in her head. Way too much monologue for me and kind of irritating and repetitive at times. But ignoring that, they do everything they can in love. Kuronuma is way more reserved in person, but when she speaks her mind, she can really make her guy want to find a hole and hide himself out of embarrassment, while Koizumi always kind of forces herself onto his man. Way too funny and cute. The guys are also cutely and oddly similar. Both are kind of shy in terms of love in the Japanese man way, but they're manly enough to show them and do what a man's gotta do. There are a lot of heart throbbing moments, so do watch it. The original manga counterparts are also pretty much the same, so don't also miss it.

These are both character-driven stories and are kind of melodramatic. The source of drama is totally different hence these two manga are also completely different, but they are both really good and really amazing. Both have really strong heroines and really cool male protagonists. Kazehaya (Kimi ni Todoke) and Yano (Bokura ga Ita) are both popular among girls but their approach was totally different. While Kazehaza always holds himself back in order to wait for his girl, Yano kind of forces his ways onto his girl. The guys are also very mature, kind of, in a way, which makes the two stories a whole lot more interesting. The heroines, in spite of being strong character themselves, can also be annoying at times, but still they add a bit of spice to the story. In Kimi ni Todoke, it was more of Kuronuma understanding herself while it was more of Takahashi understanding Yano on the other. Girl friendships is the secondary point of Kimi ni Todoke although there are also times when Ryuu and Kazehaza have their guy moments. But it was more like the usual I-can-tell-what-you're-thinking-even-though-you-don't-tell-me-anything boy friendship. I though it was so Japanese! On the other hand, Yano's friendship with Takeuchi is more open, and kind of borders to rivalry as well. Sometimes, it's also good to hear what guys usually talk about so this style is also refreshing. Takahashi's side on the other hand, doesn't really show much girl friendship. In terms of art, silence is used really well too. Although I like Bokura ga Ita better if we talk about that. Overall art however goes to Kimi ni Todoke. Overall story? These two are romance stories that are really worth it. In this matter, there is nothing more to say, but just go read it.

If you liked Ouran Koukou Host Club add

...then you might like Special A add

The only similarity maybe is that the setting was in a special school. Ouran is for the rich, while Special A is for the geniuses. However, Ouran Host Club is so much, a whole lot better than the latter. It was a lot more fun, the heroine wasn't so weak-willed, doesn't care much, and she wasn't annoying. The confused Tamaki (male protagonist) was also very fun to watch. Romance and comedy scenes were well-timed giving so much more effect. Although it's a bit disappointing that Ouran didn't have a solid ending. If you've seen Ouran though but not Special A, I don't particularly recommend it. You can watch it at the risk of your own time. The only thing I can say is, there was an ending so do as you please.
