I stumbled on this manga when someone posted a screenshot from it. Since it's pretty short, I figured, 'Why not give it a try?'
The story is... predictable. I'm not talking about the typical 'everyone knows exactly what's going to happen' type of predictable, but more on 'since this happened, this will probably happen next' sort of thing. But that's not entirely bad, since it makes the characters' actions and reactions to the scenarios that much more realistic. Seeing as this manga is only 8 chapters long, it did enough.
The art is typical slice of life shoujo style, but that's what makes it pleasing to the
...
eyes. The characters' movements and expressions aren't exaggerated, but enough to let the reader know what is happening.
The characters are your typical girl that falls in love with the really cool, smart, handsome guy. As cliche as the characters seem, the entire manga is focused on their development, from following their dreams to breaking away from their pasts. Without this development in mind, this would just be any plain old shoujo. The only thing that bothered be about the characters is that they introduced quite a few minor character, but only went up to shallow waters to give them a better background. Since this manga is not that long, I understand that, but I would have preferred it if the author at least paid more attention to the little guys.
For only 8 chapters, this manga was a nice time waster. Not too complicated, not too boring, just right for a quick read.

With only four chapters, it does it's job well for a shoujo manga.
The story is pretty typical for a shoujo manga, in the way that it is also predictable. It's the setting that's very unique, as this is the first time I've encountered a story based in a pawnshop. The sad part is that there is a somewhat major plot line that is left open, and although you can figure out what happened through context, it doesn't change that it was left alone.
The art is nice and clean, but nothing too special. Typical shoujo manga art.
The characters are the better part. I love
...
stories with well made character development, but I don't really expect much from mangas this short. But for only 4 chapters, it does enough to feel that the main character has grown.
This is a short and sweet manga and it's a nice read. If you're in for a small break, this is a good story to warm you up.

This is an epic story that I have been following for years now, and I can't believe it has finally ended. *cries*
The story is a very VERY intense chess match that isn't filled with cheesy stuff like the power of friendship, but is more on actual logic. It's really unique, and it feels like every move, action, and reaction of the characters has been researched beforehand to make everything that more realistic. The games are probably the best part, and it's probably because of them that I finished this manga.
The art is not that pretty, and the reactions seem very exaggerated, but the story definitely
...
makes up for it. Don't give up on this manga just because you can't stand the art.
The characters are very diverse, with each and every character having a reason for being there. Even the minor characters feel important enough to take note of, which is quite a feat for a manga that has A LOT of minor characters. The character development is also very well done, especially in the main character, Kanzaki Nao. She is very annoying at the beginning, but just bare with her for a while. She gets better as the story progresses. The other main character, Akiyama Shinichi, is somehow the opposite. As Kanzaki improves herself, Akiyama starts to step back from the spotlight to let her get in on the action. They balance each other out, not overshadowing one another.
Now for a *spoiler* that isn't really a spoiler. (Just skip this paragraph if you want to go in completely in the black):
The ending is very rushed, making it quite disappointing. It leaves too many loose ends for me to completely accept it. I personally suggest reading only up to the second to the last game, unless this manga comes with a sequel or an epilogue. I honestly changed my rating from 9 to 8 just because of the ending. Again, that is just my opinion, but consider yourself warned.
-end of pseudo spoiler-
Overall, this manga is an amazing read, and I don't regret rereading it while I was waiting for updates. Very enjoyable read that makes you want to jump in and join in the games (if it wasn't for the incredible risks you would have to take).

I'm not that big of a fan when it comes to supernatural manga, so take this review with a grain of salt. With that out of the way, let's get this review started.
The story seems pretty unique, but that may be the case because I usually only read slice of life manga. The synopsis pretty much says everything you need to know, but the ending is a nice twist to it all.
The art is alright, showing enough of the aura of the characters. The only problem is the characters aren't that well made out. The main girl is just a plain hopeless romantic that goes
...
for the easy way out (although the situation calls for some leeway as to how she reacts to the events), while the "main guy" is as characterless as possible. The only character really worth mentioning is the guy that works at the rental place. He always has a smug feel around him, making him have more depth. He gives off the feeling of being the man behind it all.
Overall, this is a pretty good one shot that makes you wonder what you would do if you were in their situation. I don't feel that it truly earns the right to be called a 'horror' manga, but it is quite creepy in its own sense.

This is my first time writing a review, so please bear with me.
The story is pretty short and straight to the point, so it's a quick read. It's also kind of cliche since it uses the 'opposites attract' plot to justify the characters' feelings, and that in itself makes it feel sort of lacking. I sort of wish that there was a scene that at least explains the guy's feelings though, since I feel like that would have given the story more depth.
The art was smooth and simple, which was really nice. The main character is really spunky, and it is easily shown by her
...
movements and facial expressions.
The characters were what really grabbed my attention. While the main guy is your average shoujo manga cool type that happens to be really nice and protective on the inside, it's the main girl that I just absolutely love. Her reactions make her so realistic that I could sometimes see myself in her. She is either a hopeless romantic or just a plain pervert, but it is all somehow in the right place. What I really like about her is how she grows to be less selfish by picking up clues along the way.
The manga overall was a really nice find. And the extra chapter at the end, called 'Boyfriend', deserves plus points for being a nice touch to the manga.
