Art:
The art in Gosick is actually pretty good
Rating: 9
Sound:
Gosick's opening song "Destine Histoire" is pretty memorable. It has a nice beat to it and if you understand the lyrics, you can get some idea of what Gosick is about (or going to for that matter). The ed song is "Resuscitated Hope" which also has an interesting beat to it although the lyrics are quite a bit darker than the op. The voice acting is pretty good with Victoria's voice actress being the same as Sakura from Kino no Tabi who was the girl Kino met in the 12th episode.
Rating: 9
...
Characters:
Kujo: Known as the Dark or Spring-time reaper, isn't the brightest Bulb on the Christmas tree for sure but that's ok, Victoria pretty much is. He's Victoria's gopher for finding new and hopefully interesting crimes to solve. Gets his nickname from one of the many fairy tales scattered throughout the books in the library. Like Ryuji from Toradora, he isn't anything like the rumors about him floating around the school.
Victoria (Victorique): The legendary golden fairy detective girl at the top of the library. Bored from being stuck at the top of the library all this time, she found Kujo and has him find a mystery for her to solve. Eventually these two become friends or as not so subtly hinted at, probably more. She is known by two nicknames so far, both from fairy tales that are at the time fairly relevant to the current plot arc.
Grevil: Takes all the credit for solving crimes that Victoria actually solved. Plays the role of a "detective" that can't actually solve crimes on his own to save his life.
Rating: 8
Story:
Victoria and Kujo go an adventures together solving mysteries mainly to entertain Victoria but also partly because they like spending time together.
Rating: 8
Enjoyment:
So far I like watching Gosick. Depending on how things go in the next few episodes, I may even upgrade it to a 9. There are already a few arcs that are up and coming that we can see from what has already aired and it will be interesting to see where it goes.
Rating: 8-9
Overall:
A pretty decent op/ed, good voice acting, a fairly interesting story and the mystery aspect of it make Gosick probably the best anime running this season.

Story: 6
It's a story of a cross-dressing zombie, a near mute necromancer, a ninja vampire (that's new) and the original masou shoujo as well as a few other characters which will be introduced later in the series. The anime did spend quite a bit of time in the first half cramming in its share of ecchi however, it did mature a bit near the second half of the series. There are a few things left unfinished in the end but overall, things went much better than I thought they would judging by the first 5 or 6 episodes. The first half mainly
...
dealt with fighting various monsters of the week but there was actual tension and various vampire related complications in the last few episodes which did help thigns quite a bit.
art: 7
Petty typical art of an ecchi/comedy anime. it isn't the best art in the world but it isn't bad either.
sound: 8
The opening theme is pretty good, the ed is no where near what the op is but that's not too uncommon. The voice acting is pretty decent, the voices fit the characters so it gets an 8.
characters: 7
Aikawa Ayumu: The cross-dressing (not by choice) zombie, the male lead voiced by Junji Majima who was also Ryuuji from Toradora's Japanese voice actor.
Haruna: The original Masou Shoujo female lead. Highly intelligent but also similarly arrogant, her very first meeting with the male lead resulted in her cutting him in half with a chainsaw; I guess she says "hello" a bit differently.
Eucliwood Hellscythe (Yuu): The quiet necromancer. There is a good reason why she doesn't talk much or show too much emotion, she's not just a Yuki/Tabitha/Rei clone. She's probably the character that is most easy to sympathize with especially in the 11th and 12th episodes.
Seraphim: The ninja Vampire... yes you read that right. She hates the male lead... a lot. Responsible for the other 1% of ecchi/yuri in the series. There is a legit reason for this strangely enough which is revealed along with Yuki's introduction.
Dai Sensie: Haruna's teacher Ariel. Dragged Haruna down to Earth for tofu apparently. She is mostly on the sidelines as she never really gets entangled into any of the scoobie scrapes that occur in the series; it may also be that she's pretty much the most powerful character outside of Yuu.
Yoshida Yuki: she isn't introduced until ep 7 and uses soup as a weapon of war. Serephim doesn't get along with her but Serephim seems to "hate" Ayumu slightly more. Between herself and Serephim, the two of them have pretty much the same problems as far as their clans are concerned.
Yoru no Ou: The other zombie created by Yuu only introduced near the end of the anime.
It's kind of hard to say anything about this guy without spiling things but I'll try anyway: Yuu and Yoru know each other from way back in the past. This of course, eventually causes problems for pretty much everyone.
overall: 6
Although the series did improve considerably in the last few episodes, I don't think it outweighed the scchi from the first 5 or 6 episodes and there were a few clear weaknesses in the plot that didn't help.

I'd heard that Azumanga Daioh was a comedy that no one should miss so I started watching.
Mistake number one. Assuming that 4-5 eps wasn't enough to really "get" this anime for what it was: Mistake number two. Most people fall into one of two groups; those that really really like the series and those people like myself that were not impressed by the series in the slightest. If you don't like the series after 4-5 episodes stop watching.
Art:
The art in Azumanga Daioh is decent, not bad but nothing really ground-breaking either.
Rating: 7
Sound:
The voice acting was just about equivalent to the art of
...
the series. My opinion of the voice acting in this series is probably biased by the fact that the nature of each character was tied to the voice acting so take this with a grain of salt. **The Japanese sub is very much better than the dub btw
Rating: 7
Character:
Where to begin. Tomo was annoying; no let me rephase that: Tomo was half the reason why I couldn't finish this series for as long as I did. Chiyo and Yomi were probably the better of the major characters in that they managed to not be either annoying, have ADHD or leave long unnecessary pauses in their speech.
Rating: 4
Story:
There isn't one. This is a slice of life anime that took the genre to the extreme. The "jokes" used in the series that everyone seems to find funny for some reason get old pretty quickly. Sakaki getting bitten by cats for example; funny the first few times but after a while it makes you wonder why the series kept reusing it... So goes every other bit of humor in the series. Ah yes the awkward pauses... How could I forget... This is the only series I could find that does this and for good reason.
Rating: 4
Enjoyment:
I didn't really enjoy watching the series much. I have a need to finish animes once I start them; so Azumanga Daioh ended up being an anime that I've had to force myself to complete. That's not a good sign.
Rating: 4
Overall:
Azumanga Daioh is probably the most overrated series I have ever seen. There is no plot; you've heard this before from other reviews and even some of the fans themselves but we are so very not kidding about this it isn't even funny. You could start midway in the series and miss absolutely nothing of importance in regard to plot. Yes there were times where the series was funny but much more often than not, the jokes were repetitive and punctuated by awkwardly long pauses. Chiyo and Yomi were the show's major redeeming characters and Tomo, the comic relief of the series, just turned out to be (see above) annoying rather than funny.

Art:
The art in Ergo Proxy is overall very good; the only mistakes that I could notice occured near the end of the series; although these were relatively minor.
Rating: 9
Sound:
Ergo Proxy's musical score is unusual for an anime (in a good way) with the op piece being Kiri by Monoral which is actually a piece that I've continued to listen to long after finishing the series. It was the single piece that mostly carried the series; the sound would have a rating of 10 had the series put more of a focus on the music during various scenes.
Rating: 9
...
Character:
The characters were pretty likable and as the story progressed, their character development became more complex and even side characters had some depth to them which is a welcome surpise.
Rating: 9
Story:
Honestly even now after having seen the series all the way through and watching a few episodes over again I am not entirely sure that I fully understand what all actually went on in Ergo Proxy. The plot is fairly complex and several episodes throughout the series appear at the time you see them, to be oddly placed (which to a degree, they are) however, the story is generally pieced together by the end of the series with a small number of exceptions. Overall, Ergo Proxy's plot is much more intellectual in nature than most animes even attempt which is commendable. The only reason I'm giving the story an 8 is because the series had a few episodes that seemed to be out of place and it hurt the plot to a degree.
Rating: 8
Enjoyment:
I enjoyed watching Ergo Proxy. It was a reasonably dark, post apocolyptic anime with an intellient plot. The series touched on a few futuristic concepts that are worth exploring further and haven't been beated to death by other animes yet. I try to find anime series that are novel in plot, character style and various other things and Ergo Proxy did a fine job of doing exactly that.
Rating: 9
Overall:
Ergo Proxy is a complex if not indeciferable series unless you watch the whole thing all the way through which is probably only meant for anime fans that are into that sort of thing. The plot takes some getting used to but is very much worth it.

This is an anime that our local anime club introduced me to and I am very glad they did. At first, I only watched to keep up with club when I was not on campus; although it didn't take very long to get hooked on watching Clannad.
Art:
The art in Clannad is very well done. Probably in the top 5 of anime I've watched.
Rating: 10
Sound:
The voice acting of the series was superb. The music was well timed and complimented the mood of certain key scenes.
...
Rating: 10
Character:
One word: Fuko. Fuko's character alone was enough to keep me watching through the entire series. Clannad did a very good job of making the characters in the series likeable. Sonohara's character development is worth noting as well. He starts out as a complete comic relief character that always gets into trouble that later shows that he actually does care about others a lot more than you would think from first meeting him in the earlier episodes. All in all, the character development was very well thought out and executed in a near perfect fashion.
Rating: 10
Story:
There are three major story arcs that are ~completed in the first Clannad series: Fuko's initial arc which dealt with Fuko's condition and everything that revolved around Fuko's relationship with the school; Kotomi's arc which is for the most part comedic especially when it comes to violins also gets fairly emotional near the end of it and Nagami/Tomoya's arc develops all the way throughout the series along side the others and as a result of Fuko's first arc ending. Clannad After Story starts where Clannad's last arc (Fuko's second arc) leaves off. The three major arcs are well done and a few are tied closer together during Clannad After Story.
Rating: 10
Enjoyment:
Very rarely has a series managed to pull off a combination of humor and very well done sad emotional moments like Clannad has managed to do. I believe that on more than one occasion I've managed to nearly choke myself to death laughing at one thing or another from the series and honestly, this series was also the first I've seen that had a scene or two that made it hard not to cry. The music did a wonderful job of amplifying the emotion of the scenes.
Rating: 10
Overall:
This series is probably one of the best animes I have ever seen. I would recommend the anime to pretty much anyone; especially those that still need to be brainwashed into the anime watching otaku community. It is one of two anime series that I have not had to do any convincing to get my mother to watch. That is a feat in of its self.
