Great anime. short and sweet self contained story. Good characters, solid story, very high end animation of characters and backgrounds. solid music. It has a good, if a bit rushed romance aspect, but you will mostly be coming for crazy flashy action and unchecked vulgarity, and if that is something you like, you will get it.
I personally knock a point off as it felt like the runtime didn't allow them to fully show the story they wanted to show despite wasting very little of what they had. We are left with a minor timeskip and some missing character depth/growth that just feels like it was
...
supposed to be there, but is only implied instead.
Another aspect that holds it back from being a masterpiece is not it's own fault, but the world it occurs in. This interpretation of cyberpunk is, in some ways, dated. missed opportunities to parody contemporary concepts like crypto.

You need to watch the anime to fully follow this, and it may not be fore everyone due to the issues leading into that. However it really delivers on spectacle, and gives you allot to chew on repeated viewings. It's a unique movie and a classic for good reason.
Story:
Pacing picks up, and it gives you the tools to tie up many loose ends while being mysterious enough to be interesting. It does however raise a bunch of questions with answers and hints left in secondary material. It's a thinker but their are a few things that could have used some additional hints in the show
...
to make it more complete.
Art:
Lots of symbolism, many well used colors, allot of details and action in much of the run time. Not the most technical achievement but very creative and interesting visuals thru most of the film, though surpassed by the higher budget and less time constrained sequels.
Sound:
solid effects and a few classic songs used very well. Just a few moments that felt lacking to nit pick at.
Characters:
Not the deepest or most revolutionary characters ever, but fairly well executed and memorable, with good designs. Some feel a bit unrealistic/alien though in unintentional ways.
Enjoyment:
just a totally different experience. everything feels important even if you don't fully grasp what is going on. Feels like there is more depth beyond the surface level with a high level or rewatchability that is hard to find for me.
In the end it just has a few issues, rushed/mediocre bits holding it back from being a true 10/10. Absolutly not for everyone but it is a classic for good reason.

Their is allot you can speak of for this movie but immediately I noticed the animation. I generally don't consider myself a snob when it comes to CGI or sensitive to framerates, but this animation was UNNACEPTABLY choppy. This was not something i got used to, and if they where truly unable to render more smooth animation in time, they should have simplified the models! It is no exaggeration to say the cut scenes in the 1999 Dreamcast game where easier to watch than this, if only cause they worked within their limits. Even if it's not, this felt like a rushed job, not
...
just a low budget one. Regardless of the rest of what i say here, this alone makes it something I cannot recommend while the manga and other anime exist.
-The story is very cutdown, leaving much to be desired. it does have good bones but is ultimately an unsatisfying movie if you take it in isolation despite the strengths.
-Aside from the previous points, the models are mostly ok at representing the good designs they have. Griffith looks off to me personally, but nothing here even starts to overcome the weaknesses.
-Sound mostly falls into the background doing it's job, nothing spectacular or memorable sets it apart for me.
-Characters are good, though the scope of the movie means allot of what makes them good gets cut, or put off to another movie meaning they can only be described a serviceable in this film.
-My personal enjoyment as someone who watched this coming right off the back of the original and before starting the anime, was quite low. I never adjusted to the animation, and this is coming from someone who was able to do so for Kemono Friends among others. An inexcusable injustice to the stellar source material in my mind.
-I feel like I am as unbiased as one can be watching this back to back with the original for the first time, and i simply can't see what this has to offer other than better pacing in a couple of areas (at a cost). I might say stick it out if there was no better option, but that is not the case.
This is simply mediocre as an adaption or standalone movie, but made borderline unwatchable to me by misallocation of an already tight budget on the animation.

This anime honestly just moves far to fast for it's own good. Feels like stuff just happens, one thing right after the other, you have at most a quick flashback or line of exposition to give you the barest bones idea of why it is happening, or why you should care.
They have tons of side characters and they try and introduce them all, but they start dying off before you even know who is who yet. along with explaining their magic system, hinting at the nature of the tower, touching on the lore, trying to make Bam interesting, and still trying to push the
...
plot along at a break neck pace, they end up doing pretty poor at all of it in the 13 episode run.
It feel's more like they want to throw up a facade of what the anime could be, rather than laying out a solid foundation for a grand story. that could be a plus but in the absence of any other great traits it makes me wonder if they know themselves.
The main character is boring, the love interest is maybe realistic, but unlikable. the side characters are better but nothing special, and too numerous and seemingly expendable to really get attached to most of them in such a short time. All of their relationships seem rushed and unearned.
World building seems to be whatever they feel like it should be, the tower can be sci-fi, traditional Japanese, empty voids, open fields, under water, a school, cave's and ruins, and more, all in a short span of time. You really get no sense of it being a tower in any meaningful way, but more like a VR Demo of unrelated locations. Anything concrete about the world is only hinted at or implied.
Artisticly, the character designs are good, but the environments are bland, with the rate they change being the only thing that keeps one from being too bored.
All in all, the only saving grace is the fast pace keep it from being boring, i never felt like my time was being wasted. I'd prefer a show cramming to much into too little time than a show padding out it's story with needless fluff any day. Anak is personally the only thing bairly keeping the show over a 4 for me.

You can look at this as an above average hentai or a fairly mediocre anime. It is basically a monster of the week turned sexual. An honestly funny enough premise, but by the end of a full 23 minute run time novelty has worn off and you are left with something not much better than the average hentai.
I normally hate to review something without finishing it, but there is not a shadow of a doubt in my mind the reception of this anime has been inflated by people who are (justifiably) upset and how this anime has been censored. That aside:
Story:
It has an interesting
...
idea, review monster girls in bed. I love me some monster girls and while their depictions here are not my favorites, it is fine enough. however there has been very little substance beyond the basic cycle of sleeping around and reviewing it for money. If there is more to it than that they haven't so much as hinted at it yet. It's good enough for a hentai plot but is boring and stale if you aren't watching it as hentai.
Art:
It is better animated than your average hentai absolutely, but the actual sex scenes themselves could have used more attention and suffers slightly from not being able to show penetration. There are some ecchi shows that do better while admittedly being less explicit. compared to normal anime the style and execution is just passable and nothing more.
Sound:
really not much to say here, it is decently voice acted in both lewd and non lewd moments and the background music does it's job. Nothing stands out as particularly bad or good for me.
Characters:
Being a monster girl fantasy anime you have huge flexibility with character design. So while i would say they actually did an above average job, they had every advantage, but so much wasted potential that i can hardly praise it in the end. unfortunately the actual personalities have little to them. All i can really say about any of them would be generic and many are just outright unlikable. They only exist to facilitate the paper thin premise of the show. To put it in perspective, my favorite character was Meidiri and she would be eye rollingly generic in anything else.
Enjoyment:
well this is when an anime like this should shine, i would love to say the super varied and creative sex scenes and world building behind every species makes it stand out and be a really hot and interesting experience. I'm quite sure that is what most people like about this, along with the spectacle of seeing such a thing animated. However it simply rides the line of being hentai and anime so finely that it fails at both. There is much better and more explicit hentai out there (even if i wish their was more monster girls) and there are countless anime with more to offer that i'd rather be watching. it wasn't awful but it just wasn't good enough at anything to get my attention, and the humor almost always fell flat for me.
Ultimately this anime might fill a niche for some people, and that is perfectly fine. I really just don't think it is comparable to normal anime, it's a hentai that is trying to say it is not so it can skirt around the financial pitfalls hentai normally does.

Overlord has an interesting take on on the Isekai genre, but for me it is sub par in execution through out.
Most central of all my issues with the anime, I found it extremely hard to reconcile Ainz's actions with his supposed motivation. Simply he doesn't behave like a person trapped in a game, he behaves like an actual evil undead overlord.
Additionally most of the character interactions, especially earlier on, simply boil down to repetitive and unquestioning praise of the main character. The only saving grace for the characters in this anime is the rare occasions when they aren't flattering Ainz, some of the side
...
characters can be somewhat charming.
For the story, the pacing seem's to move at a snails pace, with a minimal amount of "stuff" happening for the entire season. That being said, it is an interesting enough premise that the slow pace could be tolerated while they set it up.
The art was sub-par, main due to occasional jarring CGI taking me out of the world that the well designed characters started to being me into.
Taken as a whole the soundtrack may have been the best element of overlord, especially the opening theme, but taken all together it is nothing exceptional.
There are certainly enough little things that kept me interested here and there, along with a promise for things to pick up in a big way later on that it is (maybe) worth trying. However there are anime that tell a much more compelling story with much better characters in the same number of episodes of just this first season that would make a better watch.

This anime's strength is really in its cast and their interactions. they have great designs that are a joy to watch, and they play off of each other very well. Satania steals the show of course, but the others could all be standouts in another show.
The comedy can also be pretty good and well timed, and would be another solid point of this show, however they come with some that are not quite up to par mixed in. It strikes me as something that would have been better off as a series of shorts or OVA's as the plot that holds it together is
...
pretty uninteresting.
While well done in many ways, there are simply better anime's out there, and Gabreil Dropout doesn't really break any new ground or do anything better than has been done before.
For anyone considering watching this, I do recommend it for some good laughs. However I don't think you would be missing out too much by watching the first episode to grasp the premise, and then just watching the highlight's if you are short on time.

It's hard to separate the two seasons as the flow seamlessly into each other and I cannot imagine anyone getting to the end of season one not being invest enough to finish.
If there was a thing that sets this season apart from the second, it would be the large amount of front loaded exposition, Arguably necessary for anyone not familiar with the franchise to follow along. It does a pretty efficient job at it and makes this a great entry point for new people into the franchise, although the slow start can turn people off (don't let this be you!)
The art is remarkable, movie
...
quality stuff, with even the use of CG being turned into a strength to invoke uneasiness or give things a since of not belonging. Character designs are great as well, and really their is little more you can ask for visually from an anime like this.
The sound track fulfills it's job, and the OP is above average.
Aside from this the characters are perhaps the biggest strength of the anime. Loosely based on historical figures, their huge personalities clash in very entertaining ways, and their fleshed out motivations contrast wonderfully.
Personally i found the mostly generic, but pretty looking Fuyuki City to be a decent enough backdrop to the events of the story, though it doesn't feel very lived in for the most part. That said the various factions and bits of lore we get pick up the slack, providing for a solid setting.
if you can stomach the exposition, and like learning new magic systems, or you just wanted to see historical figures portrayed in an anime, then this is defiantly worth checking out.

Very good movie, it is Konosuba at it's best.
Allot of good comedy wrapped up with a fairly interesting plot, a beautiful new local, and some more fun characters.
The animation was nice movie quality stuff tho not as mind-blowing as it had the potential to be. all of the Explosions where the highlight of course.
Personally i would have actually preferred just a little more time spent on slice of life and character interactions, but what we get is really good.
Kazuma and Megumin's voice acting was perfect really lent itself to one of the best comedy movies I have seen period.
So if you
...
have been waiting for more Konosuba, then it is a must see!

Kemurikusa is a pretty unique anime, with a totally original setting that draws you into it immediately.
The art has amazing direction and use of colors, good character designs, and some very interesting uses of 3D. That being said, there is no denying that at a technical level, there are allot of rough edges and noticeable mistakes that aren't very charming, and can even distract from what is actually being presented at times.
The sound is serviceable to good, and the OP is pretty hype.
There is an interesting cast of characters that are all pretty likable from the start, thought the main character himself is
...
a little weak for most of the run time.
If you can get over the visual shortcomings, you will find a story that is hard to put down, and setting with huge possibilities to get your brain turning.
