Pretty mid arc in all honesty. Introduces Hanekawa's dynamic with her parents only to end up forgetting about it, the idea of a real family having to live with the "perfect class president" character archetype as their daughter is a pretty neat idea in concept but it just doesn't go anywhere. At least we got to a little bit of Senjougahara's relationship with her father in the Bake, but here it seems that Nisio just didn't feel like developing core parts of Hanekawa's character. This arc would've really benefitted from a perspective shift, cutting the downtime due to long & mostly unnecessary scenes, instead giving
...
us Araragi's perspective of the main events in the arc first, then Hanekawa's later; I honestly think this would've been a much better approach that would've effectively fleshed out the entire arc as well as introduced the audience to the perspective switches SS is about to start doing.
As for the visuals, the whole thing feels like a bit of a step down from Nise's consistently great animation quality as a lot of the visuals feel a little too stiff and the style just isn't as creative nor inventive as it was in either Bake or Nise, and the color pallet isn't as diverse as the arcs that came before this. The music is... Monogatari music. It's good shit but it doesn't try anything too bold in terms of switching up the sounds we'd heard on the previous two seasons. The voice acting's great as usual and I love Yui Horie's versatility and ability to play two different characters that sound somewhat similar. The overall story progression and pacing is a bit off in my opinion, a few scenes in the last two episodes drag on for far too long and the overall point of this arc just seems to be setting up Second Season's first arc, which as previously mentioned could've been done much better. Another issue I have would the be my overall enjoyment of this arc, though it is a good arc and properly deserves an 7/10 from me the whole thing just isn't terribly enjoyable nor particularly memorable, and that's honestly just because of the lack of side characters. The reason why Kizu can get away with it's lack of side characters is because every technical aspect is leagues better than this, not to mention Shinobu is one of the best characters in the series whereas Hanekawa has always struck me as the most underdeveloped out of the main cast. Without Hachikuji, Senjougahara, Nadeko, Kanbaru or Karen, an arc that focuses mainly on the dynamic between Hanekawa and Araragi with no almost no characters to speak besides Oshino and Tsukihi can't stay entertaining without Kizu quality technical aspects.
Overall this arc's pretty decent but doesn't really do too much to stay entertaining the whole way through. Looking forward to my rewatch of Second Season with Callie when she feels better.

A friend told me to watch it, so I did. Honestly wasn't a huge fan of this, it's a pretty neat short that felt very much inspired by the works of Alejandro Jodorowsky; as the film contains plenty of surrealist visuals and abstract metaphorical storytelling, and there is indeed plenty of depth to the themes it explores, but I really wasn't a fan of the story structure. Things kind of just happen in this film, there's no real sense of plot progression which makes the symbolic aspects feel all but random, and the whole thing felt as though it lacked proper direction, but at least

it wasn't obvious nor annoying.

Cipher is an anomaly. I have no fucking what this is supposed to be or why this was made, but regardless I can’t help but say I liked it. It’s a film that feels like it either came from a brilliant mind or an idiot who had no idea what they were doing. It summarizes several chapters of a story in a 20 minute music video, and then provides information on how it was made, and even though the hilariously awful dubbing for the first 20 minutes is in english, the interviews in the second half are entirely in japanese with no english subs. I

Kite is a film that can only be described as instant gratification, it's a film that sets up nothing, develops nothing, but manages to deliver some nice action and a stylish color pallet. This is one of the few films that I wished had a longer runtime, Kite clocks in at a measly 50 minutes, crippling itself by being much too plot and character driven, with developments and payoffs that lack any sort of emotional potency due to the lack of depth in every character. Some plot points kind of just happen without much build up and a few of the "twists" just made me
...
feel like the film straight up lied to me. Most of the action's pretty cool, there's some nice over-the-top fights but it suffers from the annoying 90s anime cliché where every character is just a balloon filled with cool aid and nobody has any internal organs for some reason. I went into this expecting over the top gore and all I got was a bunch of blood, no guts only papercuts. I fucking hated the music in this I have no fucking clue why they decided it was a good idea to play the most amateurly composed jazz songs I have heard in my life over high octane fight scenes where people's limbs explode.
Overall I had a good time with this, if you wanna see some stupid action that makes little sense from a logical standpoint then check it out, but if you're looking for a story that actually sets things up before delivering payoffs and doesn't feel super random then avoid this shit like the fucking plague.

An Enjoyably mediocre series that tries nothing new but remains moderately entertaining. Most of Sono Bisque’s qualities don’t really exceed expectations, the music, animation, characters, episode format as well as plot are all pretty average and inoffensive, though that still isn’t a bad thing, just disappointing considering I couldn’t escape this fucking show; everywhere I went whether it be twitter, instagram, discord wherever I was someone was talking about this goddamn show. I guess I kind of get the hype? Marin’s pretty cute and all but the way she’s written makes me feel as though the show is pandering reeaaally hard with the whole “I’m
...
a hot girl but I also like anime and video games” thing. As I said previously this is in no way a bad show just a throughly unimpressive and standard one, however it had enough substance throughout most of it’s runtime to keep someone as stubborn as myself at least semi- invested.

tsui no sora is what happens when you try to make hentai in mario paint.
i swear, this hentai is funnier than 90% os comedy anime solely due to how horrendous the animation, line delivery and screenplay are.
i genuinely think this is the first time i couldn't stop laughing while watching anime.
i dont know how to write reviews, so if this is unorganized as fuck, im sorry.
the plot is fairly simple. girl gets fucked by 40 year old highschool kid then commits suicide, then 40 year old hs kid kidnaps girls and takes them to his sex dungeon (?) to prevent the end of
...
the world, which isn't actually real and it was just a lie? idk it gets super weird towards the end.
the animation as previously mentioned, was most likely made in paint, with a mouse. the characters go really off model sometimes, the proportions are fucked up, i remember one time the main character's mouth just disappeared halfway through his line.
so why did i give it a 10? simple. i have never been this amused by a hentai in a long time.

not a very lengthy review, but i just couldn't enjoy this show. i understand that it's supposed to have a message along the lines of: "what if humans are the real monsters due to how they treat others who are different" but fuck man this shit was hard for me to watch. the story was alright, and the sound design was pretty good, and the opening set the tone for the show in a great way. The art style was basic, probably so there would be more shock value in watching moe anime girls get blown to shit. My main problem is the characters, im
...
the kind of person who enjoys good characters, and imo uninteresting/unappealing characters can completely ruin my enjoyment of any anime, this show is one of them. I just couldn't find one likable character out of this cast, I don't like Lucy because of the super forced bullying, stupid romance, and yandere shit. I didn't like the main character guy, since he quite literally made out with his cousin, said he was going to have a kid with her and stay with her forever, (I think he said that i cant remember its been like two years since I saw this) but then immediately pushes her away to get close to Lucy without telling her anything about why he should be remotely interested in Lucy, leaving her all sad for no reason. I didn't like the loli girl who wasn't crippled because she was annoying as hell, and i didn't like the crippled one because she was also annoying. and the puppy scene was fucked up, like it was intended to be, but it was another instance of forced bullying to make the audience sympathize with the character. Like seriously, what group of children would beat a orphan puppy to death? It's only there so the audience knows that people think Lucy is a freak, even though WE ALREADY KNOW THAT.
