I am not a huge fan of manhwa, but after finishing The Horizon, I felt like looking into some more Korean works out of curiosity. Naturally, I checked to see if author JH had any other works, and mosquito war immediately grabbed my attention.
This is an absolutely amazing read. You may think it's a reach, but whilst reading this I felt heavy influences from Japanese manga and anime, particularly Fire Punch, Evangelion, and a little bit of OPM. Asper Kanojo is an absolute gem of a manga.
Asper Kanojo is in my opinion the best romance manga out there. Not only does it give us a believable and warm look at a relationship between two people who don't quite fit in, it masterfully represents neurodivergency in both of the main characters. Megumi is especially important to me. As someone who struggles with similar issues, and who has always known and loved people with these issues, her character brings me tears with how realistic and non offensive she is.
