TL;DR (im putting it in the beginning so its easier to see) Guy gets truck kun'ed to isekai land and is hot shit cuz hes good at magic and goes to magic school. Very generic. Much better than isekai smartphone, tho cuz that was easily the worst show i have even considered watching. id say in quality probably between Highschool dxd and isekai smartphone. so it can be enjoyed thouroughly, but only if you want to watch a shitty generic isekai.

so to preface this review, this was one of the first anime i watched and the first isekai ive watched and it holds a special place in my heart (as in i have rewatched and enjoyed it at least 4 times now) so if i start gushing about it midway through, just know its coming from my excited baby weeb part of my brain and im probably fucking lying cuz this shit was as generic as generic isekai gets.
as generic as isekai gets, mc gets bricked by a truck and reincarnated in a new world. he gets promptly promoted to orphan by a large bear with naturally magically induced anger issues. He gets picked up by like merlin or something and he grows up training magic. The magic system is based on visualization, so he is really OP because he knows about chemical reactions since he wrote science text books in his past life or something.
he then goes to school and gets a girl friend, shows up a bunch of guys with his magic and beats a bunch of demons invading a small nation. after that the rest is part of the LN/Manga
Overall its very okay. not a lot going on but the animation is alright. the plot and characters have essentially no significance when it comes to the value of the show, but that is how most shitty isekai are.
I would reccomend this to people who feel like watching another 12 episode brainrot isekai. now please excuse me while i go to watch this again.

Art is great, story is great, the characters are pretty good, and the fights are good. The underlying theme of the story is really interesting and isn't just some one off thing they bring up a few times to check some boxes to get reviews up.
I would give it a 10 out of 10 except the beginning is weird because the MC takes a fast 180 when he gets his powers, but even that part is still pretty good.
When the next season comes out I might update my rating to a 10/10 but we will see what its like.

in my opinion the recent chapters make everything about the manhwa most definitely worth reading, especially if you liked the tokyo ghoul manga or other action heavy media pieces that are more focused on the psychological aspects of the characters and ideals portrayed by the story.
It starts off kinda slow and jumps around at first writing and quality wise, but one thing that is consistent through the majority of the manhwa are the fights. The visuals in the fights are really gritty and raw and you can feel the emotions of the characters a lot better through the fights.
everything after chapter 85-90ish is amazing

story picks up and it especially takes off after chapter 94 when you really start to understand and see the themes being portrayed by the characters. a lot of things that were portrayed earlier on start to make more sense.
in the beginning of the manwha, while there were some interesting moments, it was pretty slow and not great aside from the art in the fights, but now the characters and story are compelling and show a new side that really makes it worth reading for anyone who is not easily put off by more aggressive violence.

so
keep in mind i am a fan of those power trip fantasy manhwas so if that is something you dislike then we will likely have some disagreement in opinion
also
i happen to be of the exact same opinion about solo leveling as a certain youtuber by the name of Yiman, so if you have watched his videos and disagree (or agree for that matter), no need to continue reading
overall i liked it a lot
there were points when i was not sure about it, since the fights kind of lost suspense up until a certain point, and the mc seemed to have no emotions at all what
...
so ever.
but then, all of a sudden its like the writer got replaced or he hit his head and had a sudden change in personality
the main character was originally kind of dynamic since he went from weakest to strongest but then he kind of stagnated for a while, until the point i mentioned above and he started having those smiling kuudere moments and the battles got unboring again
overall the art was pretty good and the other parts were good, so i will say this is not the image of perfection some fans were saying it was, but it also wasn't the hot garbage the people who hate it were saying it was.

I read the most recent chapter of Tougen Anki a few days ago.
The plot is pretty generic, but it is still decent. Some people have stated that the "pacing sucks," but at this point i couldn't even tell you what that means because of how many people have said that about various manga that were either picking up pace after an introductory stage or had a lot of details to talk about in one of the more action packed parts of the story.
As others have said, the main trio are pretty similar to the Naruto trio, and the characters exemplify a lot of the traits

the main thing that i really liked about this manga was the way characters emotions were displayed when they interacted with each other. One scene i had in mind was the...

...part recently where shiki ichinose (the mc) went berserk while fighting momodera mikado (his friend (not the sasuke guy)) and they were having a heart to heart while trying to blow up shiki w/o killing him.
there are scenes like this in many other anime and mangas, but this one specifically was kind of different. usually what happens is that the mc goes crazy because of whatever special power he has (in the case of naruto it would have been the nine tailed fox) but instead it was used to exemplify the mc's character traits. also it displayed the power balance of the characters and how dangerous the enki powers are actually.

another thing that i liked was that the different characters were all explored to an extent unlike how the only thing we know about half the characters in other shows is that they are not the mc so they will not amount to half a shit.
