Taeko is unmarried, and Chi is unhappily married; both of them are not completely satisfied with their careers. They both take a trip away from the big city, with Taeko going to the countryside and Chi returning to her hometown. They often recall their childhood and formative events, and these memories drive their quest to discover what it means to be happy.

These shows share a pretty similar mood: light-hearted comedy series with a cast of quirky characters and a slapstick humour. The main character of 'Himesama Goyoujin', Himeko, resembles Milfeulle from 'Galaxy Angel'. Shintani Ryouko voiced both of these kind and naive girls. Takayanagi Shigehito, the director of 'Himesama Goyoujin', also directed the 3rd and 4th series of 'Galaxy Angel', and some of the staff worked on both series.
