Literally cannot think of a single complaint about the show. The themes and development of the story was well-paced across 13 episodes, which introduced new characters and their backstories, as well as serving as a stepping stone for Violet to understand people's and her own emotions. All characters felt real and each episode was filled with strong emotions (most melancholy cuz of the war and shit), and it makes you aware that everyone else around can and will feel these in their lives, although sometimes unwillingly/unable to express them such as the writer from episode 7. Thanks to Violet, he managed to resolve ... his writer's block and come to terms with the death of his daughter, and more widely so does basically every one of Violet's clients, including herself in the end. In a single season, Violet 'discovered life', what Gilbert truly felt and meant to her, which was done in such a way which bridged every characters' story to her own. And an extra cherry on top, apart from Violet's journey, the consequences of war were depicted and included the perspectives from both sides, and "Everything I've done so far has sparked a flame that is now burning me up." quote also allows Violet to reflect on all the killing she has done and if she has the right to be someone who writes letters to bring people together. The part where she realises Gilbert is dead and nothing could bring him back was haunting and traumatising, but I'm glad Violet did as Gilbert instructed in their final moments and lived, and meet tons of people, and find fulfillment in life despite the past.

The art was also fucking amazing, like I could literally pause during any wide shot and use that as a wallpaper; and all this was animated by Kyoto Animations who treat their animators well (compared to some OTHER studios, aka MAPPA). The water animations looked so real I stopped thinking it was an anime for a sec and the flower symbolism...

OST went hard as fuck and fit the story perfectly as well!

This anime genuinely blew away all expectations and is one of, if not, the best Chinese anime out there. The unique concept of the show creates interesting storylines and plots that are a breath of fresh air from every other other. A cliche in time travel shows is "don't change the past as it will cause devastating consequences in the future" is also in this anime, however the characters' actions make it very clear you literally CAN'T change the past and important nodes in time are always reached no matter what you try to do to prevent it. I went into this thinking it was ... going to be a typical time travel show, but was not ready for how emotional each episode was. Each client whose past was entered, brought with them a backstory that gave me chills and made me actually care about why they wanted to 'change' the past.

There are also many cliffhangers in the show which were perfect and introduced a little bit of extra information, base upon what had happened in the episode. These twists that are implemented at the end of each episode will make your heart skip a beat and want to know where the story is going next. Trust me, you won't ever be able to predict what is coming.

Overall, Link Click is a great anime which will keep you hooked with its unique time travel mechanics, emotional story telling and characters. 9/10

NO SPOILER REVIEW:

Konosuba Season 2 was much like the first season and you'll enjoy this if you liked the first. The jokes and tropes are pretty much the same and can get repetitive but it still makes you laugh even though you see it coming from a mile away. Characters in Konosuba aren't the most developed and explored as the show is more focused on comedy than actual plot. However, the quirks of each character and how they interact with each other is what carries the humor, so even though the characters don't have much complexity, on a surface level, they work fine as comedic ... devices.

An overdone gag would be Darkness being a masochist which is used in most episodes but was still funny because of how over the top her actions and reactions are. Kazuma is unlike other isekai protagonists as he isn't an 'insert here' generic character with an overpowered ability, and he is not the most moral person. This makes him feel more real of a person, even if you can't relate to him, and is one of the reasons Konosuba is so unique in the swamp of generic isekais, and a must watch for anyone looking for a good laugh.

This season was slightly worse than the first but not by much and it still underpins Konosuba as one of the best isekais out there.

Hot Take: This anime was actually pretty good despite what others say. The music especially the OP and ED were bangers and the visuals had that Cyberpunk feel to it. It definitely felt like Bones put their souls into it for their anniversary project. The biggest complaint thrown around is how bad the writing and plot development is. Keep in mind this is an anime original though and it definitely feels like it should have gone for longer as there was content in the OP not seen in the show. Even though the plot is super confusing at first, the later episodes reveal a lot ... about the characters' motives and how everything links together albeit a bit rushed.

Another common criticism is how the family drama in the second half staled the plot. I personally felt that it served to explain the ambiguity of the story set up by its earlier episodes, sacrificing some action and momentum to clarify what was going on and the context of the world. It wasn't bad but just disappointing as if the anime got 20 or more episodes to flesh out the narrative it could've lived up to everyone's expectations. It felt as thought the writers were bursting with ideas and were trying to squeeze all of them into a 13 episode long season and couldn't elaborate on any of them given the short runtime. This is why it's up to the viewer to piece together theses concepts and try to understand what the characters' motives are and how the state of the world they live in. I found this to be engaging while many thought it was just confusing AF, so take this review with a grain of salt.

In conclusion, Metallic Rouge is a complex sci-fi with a lot of moving parts and unexplained elements which you may find really confusing. It was definitely shortened leading to the viewer needing to infer many things about the story which was later explained at the sacrifice of plot development. With that being said, the music fit the series well, the animation is what you expect of Bones, the fight scenes were engaging and each character is nuanced and multilayered. It is worth a watch but you should give it a couple more episodes than usual before deciding to drop it.
