If you're not into blatant, shameless fanservice being tossed around every episode of an anime, then Onimai is for SURE not for you.
In Onimai there's literally fanservice in every crevice of the show, and it gets super uncomfortable. I was taken aback when I suddenly saw Mahiro's ass thrust into my face in the opening song when I first saw it, and the more it happened the more desensitized I got to it. There's just a bit too much fanservice, and the fact that all of the characters ESPECIALLY Mahiro look like 9 year olds doesn't really make it any better. Although, I feel like
...
if you can (somehow) look past the tits and ass and strange loli bait, then Onimai is for darn sure an enjoyable series to watch.
As a girl myself, I found it so entertaining to watch Mahiro go through the woes and wonders of being one, and I found it pretty entertaining! Seeing girlhood being shown (in a pretty stereotypical way, mind you) in such a fun way was nice to watch. The whole shopping, chatting, prettying yourself up elements were so relatable to me specifically that I found it even more appealing. I feel like the majority of the reason why I think Onimai is pretty neat is because of the "girly" elements, I love girly things...
Not only that but the visuals in this anime are right up my alley, the smooth animation and bright pastel colours are just so aesthetically pleasing... It's like every scene in each episode could be used as a desktop wallpaper.
I love me a light-hearted anime that you don't need to think too hard about to watch, and Onimai is just a big goop of anime girls and pretty colours that I can just consume through my eyes without any second thought... minus the fanservice, which I always find myself raising an eyebrow at. Not a big fan of it.
Also the ending and opening songs are bangers. Pretty cool!

It was a nice read, I'll definitely remember it!
The characters were pretty nice too, I liked how goofy Kyouji was and how it contrasted with how emo Satomi acted. Although, the manga was a little bit strange... I'm sure it's not BL, but it sure does have some BL undertones... It was also strangely convenient how Satomi was just barely 18 during the time that they reunited, but I'll just pretend like I never suspected anything.
The art is nice as well, it has a retro feel to it which I like. The humour was pretty enjoyable too.
8/10! Nice!

It was so funny, I was giggling throughout the whole thing and I'm so happy there's other seasons.
The anime is really entertaining, and it makes me wish I could also have the same obnoxious sibling relationship... There are no boring parts in my opinion, and some shows being "boring" is a big reason as to why people dislike some series, so there's none of those here lol.
The art is really cute in my opinion, it doesn't really give off the sort of Japanese anime feel and it still keeps it's own donghua aesthetic to it. The characters aren't all that special looking, but they still
...
have their charm and I think Shi Fen is really cute.
If you want something to laugh at this should be your go-to, because I was pissing myself throughout the entirety of the episodes.
The opening is done by Brian The Sun, that's literally a huge W right there, and as for the OST I really do not remember anything that stuck out so I have nothing to say about it sadly.
Twas good. 8/10.

The anime was boring as balls, the animation was poor as balls, the creators were probably broke as balls, and there was a severe lack of balls themselves if you compare this to the game.
I'm a big fan of DMMD, as in the game, I hate the anime.
While watching this, I was literally so bored and I did not know what was going on whatsoever. The storyline was jumbled, it barely even made any of the characters seem interesting at all, and I was so lost I genuinely didn't want to finish it but I pushed through and it was not worth it.
I'll keep this
...
review short, but holy shit if you don't mind a bit of porn I really recommend you play the VN instead of watching this garbage. The main reason why I think this is garbage is because I HATE shows that make you feel like you don't know what the fuck is going on, I could not grasp anything that was happening and it just seemed so weird and obnoxious I was trying to grip something, anything, just to try and get a smidgen of an idea what this was about but it was just useless. I couldn't even grab Aoba's ass it was so flat. (Joking, that's not a serious reason why this anime sucks balls, but I'm sure Aoba does.) Although this was my opinion when I watched this, not after I played the visual novel.
Well okay I guess if you sort of paid a bit more attention you'd know what was happening, but I feel like the DMMD visual novel just doesn't translate well into anime form, like one of the whole reasons why I love DMMD is because of the colourful and futuristic themes but when it's an anime it makes it seem so cheesy and ugly. Aoba is cute in the game, EVERYONE is cute in the game, but when they're anime-fied they're literally SO UGLY I can't stand watching it.
The characters were literally ROBBED of any notable characteristics, I would not be attached to any character in this series if I watched the anime only, but thankfully I have played the game and I love Noiz, my sweet pierced emo boy.
Overall, the anime sucks and it's ugly, but if you don't mind blood and mild g0re with a large abundance of sex, please play the game.

I originally played the first Sukisho visual novel, and then came to the anime right after, so this review is probably going to be more focused on what I expected rather than the anime itself, my apologies.
The anime isn't really BAD, but I personally don't really think it holds up well to its visual novel counterpart.
The visuals are alright, they're nostalgic and retro and the animation is pretty standard, they made Fujimori's hair extremely pink which shocked me since his hair is a bit of a brownish-red in the eroge, but I got used to it and it doesn't really bother me. It's actually kind
...
of cute! I like male characters with long hair, so I really like the Sukisho series for its selection of bishounen guys with pretty hair.
As for the storyline, uhhhhhh...
The sukisho anime was really not what I was expecting? It was so much more goofy than I thought, and half of the things I was waiting to happen since I thought it was going to be an animated version of the visual novel didn't really happen, but then again I guess some things did... I've only completed the first game after all.
Although I felt so sad because it was like they grabbed the characters from the Sukisho games and turned them into the characters of some goofy cheap comedy anime, they did keep the whole dramatic concept with Aizawa and the two main character's split personalities but still the majority of the anime was set on Matsuri getting Sora and Sunao to do dumb stuff for shits and giggles. I never really found myself laughing at any point while watching this, although I may have opened my mouth in shock at one of the erotic scenes.
OH YEAH SPEAKING OF THE EROTIC SCENES, a lot of the other reviews about this talk about how those scenes seem to be thrown in there for the BL fangirls but honestly they were really tame and there were barely any in the show at all. Like, I swear there were like 3 at most.
The anime just seems like some dumb comedy, and it really disappointed me because I was really expecting it to be a bit darker, which I guess it was in the last few episodes? I just feel like the storyline was a bit jumbled, with all those unnecessary comedy episodes thrown in I barely knew what was going on and I couldn't tell if an episode was serious or not.
Anyway, it's a pretty cute show I guess, although I'm a little unsatisfied because I was expecting so much more. Not only that, the anime doesn't explain SHIT. Literally after finishing it, I have so many questions, in the visual novel since there was no need for censoring they do tell you what those weird scientists were doing to Hashiba and Fujimori, but if I was only watching the Sukisho anime without any knowledge about the franchise prior to picking it up I would be so confused. They left so much out of the anime probably because it wasn't exactly appropriate, but still they left out too much detail for me to have enjoyed the anime for its plotline.
Overall, I like the Sukisho franchise, but the anime was very disappointing. Watch it for sure if you like the retro anime vibe, and if you like boys' love, but I personally couldn't enjoy it just because of how disappointing it is compared to the games.

This is a god awful OVA, and honestly I do recommend it.
It's terrible, the plot is terrible, it's overused and it's a little weird for a father to date his son's best friend in the first place. Heck, Chisato's father literally states himself in episode two that dating a student is wrong, and Chisato literally agrees to it later on. The main couple's whole "I love you secretly, and you love me back, but you just don't know it's me yet!!" situation is really goofy and cliché, but I don't really care about it because it's so common that it's become normal.
The art is like,
...
nothing really special? It's your average old classic yaoi style and I don't see much wrong with it other than the fact that it's a little outdated and goofy, but I don't mind it much.
Honestly, the BGM isn't that bad and I kinda like it.
During the sex scene, the funky music playing in the background was so jazzy and nice that it stood out to me more than how funny it was that Shunsuke was popping in and out of the screen while kissing Chisato's flat disk nipples, so there's that I guess. There isn't an OP or ED song, which is a bit of a letdown but it's alright since it's just a funny little OVA and I don't expect too much.
As much as this is really mediocre and not very special, I was giggling my ass off watching it so I also like it at the same time. It was just so goofy, I couldn't help but piss myself laughing at some of the comedy bits.
It's bad, but it made me laugh a lot so it's worth it.
If you're bored and want something to pass the time, then you can take a look at this! There's only 2 episodes, so it won't be that much time wasted.

This anime should 100% not be taken too seriously, it's light-hearted and doesn't deal with anything serious, which is a positive!
I had read a few chapters of the manga a while back after being recommended it, but I certainly didn't think it would be getting an anime! A friend of mine told me that they were watching it and enjoyed it, but I wanted to wait until all episodes came out before binging it. (I failed to wait.)
The visuals are pretty good! No goofy frames, the art seems to match the manga really well, the colours are nice and pretty and most of all, the
...
anime boys are super cute. It's pretty great, if you like anime with ikemen then this should be right up your alley, the plot is LITERALLY cute boys doing goofy things, it's amazing.
While watching Cool Doji Danshi, your mind is generally empty the whole time, no need to think, talk, breathe, get confused or think about funky lore, it's great. I really enjoy anime where I get to think about nothing the whole time so I really enjoyed the episodes that are out at the moment. If you want to watch something funny and get some giggles out of it without using too much brain power, then this should be perfect.
Some may think that the whole plot of this is stupid or dumb, but that really isn't the point and as I said before you should not take it too seriously since it really is just a light comedy with pretty boys in it, there really isn't anything to get mad over as long as you're not looking at it from such a harsh perspective. It's a cute anime, and personally I don't find anything to dislike about it.
The dumb little situations the boys find themselves in make me cringe, but it's the entertaining type of cringe so I don't really mind.
It's good!

Honestly, I don't dislike Sekaiichi Hatsukoi at all, in fact I kind of like it.
The story and characters are cute, the comedy is enjoyable and the smut is palatable, and it gets bonus points for nostalgia as well. ALTHOUGH, this manga has been ongoing for a very long time, and in regards to Ritsu and Takano's relationship, IT'S BEEN FUCKING YEARS AND WE HAVE PROGRESSED NOWHERE.
Bro I swear, like, the rest of the couples have sort of already reached steady relationship statuses, with their chapters generally being about goofy funny couples doing goofy funny things, other than that they're just lore insights into their characters.
...
These aren't really BAD per se, they're really enjoyable and since I like to read things with my brain empty they're generally entertaining and nice to read, the occasional drama is nice too.
BUT FUCKING HELL WHEN IT COMES TO THE MAIN COUPLE IT MAKES ME WANNA CRY
General Complaints:
Out of all the couples, I'll be honest and say that I do prefer Ritsu and Takano over the other two if we're talking about the early chapters and stuff in general. Of course they'd be the favourites since they have the most content too, but like holy shit bro the fact that we are 17 volumes in and this bitch Onodera can't even tell his hot, sexy, high school sweetheart-next door neighbor that he's in love with him is driving me fucking insane bro.
I mean, I do understand that if Shungiku sensei were to just let their relationship be official too quickly then it'd kill any other reason to continue it any further, given this manga has been in the making longer than I have even been alive, and I generally do want it to be ongoing for longer... But at this point the author is milking it bro😭
Every chapter, it ends with "Days until Onodera falls completely in love: [REDACTED]" and it gets MORE FRUSTRATING EACH TIME.
I'm going to be talking about a certain point in the manga that I'm up to, but I'm sort of around the bit where Nao gets thrown in suddenly and becomes a (kind of but not really) rival for Takano, and holy shit at this point I'm starting to get genuinely pissed off at Ritsu because he's delaying this confession shit for TOOOOO long now and Takano is starting to get annoyed. Not only that, but like the two of them had the whole "Are we just fuck buddies!??!" conversation and stuff, and this DUMB BITCH RITSU STILL CAN'T SAY ANYTHING ABOUT HIS DUMBASS FEELINGS😭😭😭😭
I think that Ritsu will probably confess soon, since we're really reaching some sort of climax in the story... at least I hope so...
But all that I can say is that I'm really frustrated with the fact that we keep bumping into these issues that the author throws in, Takano and Ritsu fight, Takano drags Ritsu into his apartment and forces a kiss on him at the front door, Ritsu either gives in and then has sex with him or runs away, it gets awkward at work, they make up, REPEAT. THAT'S LITERALLY THE ONLY THING WE'VE BEEN WORKING WITH FOR AGES NOW.
Generally good things about this manga:
If you're a brain dead yaoi reader, and enjoy these kinds of stories where the seme just forces himself on the uke and the uke cannot let his own feelings be known for shit then you will surely enjoy this.
I enjoy Sekaiichi for the nostalgia, and also because I think Takano is fucking hot, but there are a lot of other things that I like about it too.
Main Characters + Yokozawa:
Onodera Ritsu:
He's annoying, but he's super cute too, but that might just be because I like tsundere guys in manga/anime. Other than that, he's your copy-paste run of the mill uke who doesn't have much special about him other than the fact that he comes from a rich family. Ritsu's trauma from Takano laughing when he asked if they were in a relationship was extremely dumb imo, but this is an old yaoi and I shouldn't take things too literally. Overall, even though Ritsu is annoying as shit, I love him and will give him a solid 8.5/10.
Takano Masamune:
He's hot, and he's your average cool-guy who gets all the bitches and has no flaws at all, but I really do like how even though he's seen as some sort of Gary Stu, he still has feelings and has gone through a lot of stuff in the past. (Like Ritsu leaving him in high school, his family issues, etc.) I also like his dynamic with Ritsu and how he's clingy with him and stuff since he likes him and isn't afraid to show it, I just think Ritsu is annoying for constantly rejecting him over and over and over again even though he likes him back. Overall, I'd say Takano would be my favourite character, 9/10, although I think he needs to learn what "no" means...
Kisa Shouta:
Honestly I didn't really care much for him, but he's cute and likeable so I don't mind him much and he's a sucker for hot guys so he's relatable. I also liked how him and Ritsu were work bffs. He's great!! 7.5/10 (But, he's also annoying as shit sometimes so that knocks points off.)
Yukina Kou:
He's soo pretty and I love his piercings, so 10/10 for character design! He's sort of like a golden retriever, he's loveable and I really liked him and had no problem with him, even though he's a little bland. Yukina is up there with Takano, 9/10.
Hatori Yoshiyuki:
Well, from what I remember I really did not give a shit about him at all when I consumed this series. He's boring, his story with Chiaki is a little bit cliché but I think it was alright. He's a regular caring seme, and I didn't really dislike how he was a bit like a caregiver to Chiaki and I thought it was pretty cute. Other than that, he's still boring and I don't care much for him, but he's cute in his own way. 6.5/10
Yoshino Chiaki:
A CUTIE, I like his personality and I think he looks cute too. He's your average annoying peppy uke, I really don't have much to say about him but he's good. 7/10
Yokozawa Takafumi:
Honestly I hated him and thought he was annoying at the start, then he got his own love interest and backed off from Takano. I really appreciated that honestly and I thought it was really mature of him as a rival character, after getting with that single father dude whose name I forgot he began to be more cute in my eyes. He's a cute character, with TOOOONNNNNSS and I mean TONS of gap moe to spare. 8/10
Overall Plot/Story:
The plot of Sekaiichi really overlaps with Junjou, but that's not really a problem since the characters from both works reside in the same universe.
The overall story of Ritsu and Takano reuniting after a messy past together as they slowly (REALLY FUCKING SLOWLY) try and mend their relationship again is something that I really like, and I think that the little lovey dovey bits are adorable! It's just so repetitive, and the same shit happens over and over again and gets more irritating each time. But if we're talking about the overall plot, the plot is pretty solid. (Well, not really. Since the whole misunderstanding on Ritsu's part sprouts from Takano giggling at his stupid "A-A-A-A-A-A-ARE WE DATING?🥺" question, which would not be traumatizing enough to make Ritsu fucking move to ENGLAND TO RUN AWAY FROM HIM??😭)
Comments on the other couples:
With Yukina and Kisa, they're alright and I'm not a fan of age gaps but I do prefer that if there IS an age gap that the uke is the older one, and that is the case here, so that's extra points. There isn't much substance when it comes to this couple, and I can't recall much either way, but I think it was alright.
Hatori and Chiaki were cute, I liked the whole childhood friend situation and the drama was tolerable.
Visuals:
The art isn't known to be the BEST, but I personally like it. Especially in the recent volume covers, Shungiku Nakamura's art gets better every time! The style is nostalgic and has an old feel, most don't like the big lips but I think they're alright... Compared to the other newer manga nowadays, it definitely isn't number one, but it's okay! 8/10
Anyway, this review was extremely messy and I'm very sorry if this might have offended. I really love Sekaiichi Hatsukoi as much as I hate it, it's a classic and the parts that I hated I also enjoyed at the same time. 👍👍

[Ultimately spoiler free, with brief descriptions only. Along with other basic information. Also this is my first review, and I don't know how to write them at all.]
Although the premise of this anime may seem off-putting and repulsive, especially when taking into account that frequent saliva swapping takes place, this anime surprisingly takes these otherwise strange and obnoxious points and turns them into something that can be viewed in a less revolting way.
If anything, it makes these respective weird aspects enjoyable and entertaining, if you try to overlook the spit sharing and focus on the rest of the show. (Which may seem just as
...
weird and obnoxious, yet I find those parts of the show to play into the whole mysterious and out of the ordinary feel of Nazo No Kanojo.)
Personally, I might be slightly biased towards this anime as it holds a special place in my heart. (Nostalgia from watching it at a young age, and/or my affinity with the soundtrack featured in it.) I personally adore the characters, although Akira Tsubaki may seem like your average romance anime protagonist, and although he might be quite bland, and boring, and all the other traits that you might expect in a romcom anime protagonist, his character ultimately makes following along with the whole story a fun journey to partake in as the viewer.
When it comes to these sorts of anime, a lovable and attractive female lead is a must have for it to be enjoyable. Nazo No Kanojo X is not short of attractive anime girls, with characters like Mikoto Urabe and a small assortment of other side characters for the viewer to enjoy.
Mikoto Urabe is one of the main reasons why I love Nazo No Kanojo X so much, these kinds of quirky emo looking anime characters are not necessarily RARE per se in anime, but it's just the way that Mikoto Urabe doesn't fit a certain category that I love so much. She's weird, she's mysterious, she looks cool (opinionated) and I enjoy her character. She doesn't lean towards any sort of type to a T, and I enjoy how unique she is because of that. One of my favourite characters in all honesty. (Then again, this is all opinionated and she COULD fit some sort of label but I just can't think of any at the moment, although I still do view her as unique when compared to other characters.)
When looking at the romance aspect of Nazo No Kanojo X, I especially enjoy how the two main characters mingle with each other and how their relationship progresses through the show. With the perfect balance of ecchi and romance, the pairing create an entertaining play for the viewer.
From what I remember, there are some ecchi scenes present, but judging and looking at Nazo No Kanojo X as a whole, I wouldn't really describe the anime as 'ecchi' as the ecchi scenes are not the main focus of the series.
With extreme ecchi anime-like situations here and there, I would regard this anime as ecchi to a degree. When compared with other anime, Nazo No Kanojo's ecchi aspect does not really affect how one may view the show, although those who are not ecchi fans may find these scenes uncomfortable to watch. This series really crosses a lot of boundaries in terms of social norms and other things like basic common sense, although I won't name which specific things I am talking about... Nazo No Kanojo X expresses these ecchi scenes in a sublime way, but in the end it really all boils down to personal preference.
I think that the ecchi scenes are quite uncomfortable at some points of the show, but I still enjoy it nonetheless as I choose to overlook the things that might be a bit strange to watch. (Either that or I just have a high tolerance for these sorts of things.) But in the end, the romance sort of overpowers the ecchi sense and helps it balance out the series in a great way which helps the show become more palatable for the faint-hearted.
Nazo No Kanojo X fills you with nothing but questions, with certain things seeming unexplainable, and some things just seeming downright weird. These aspects of the anime are things that can be found quite loveable in a strange sense. The weirdness is something that can't be found in many places, as these sorts of obscure seeming anime are things that never sort of land in the anime industry. (Seeing that Nazo No Kanojo X never really became mainstream.) But this strangeness gives a unique touch to the anime anyway, not only that but the nostalgic 90s anime art style and beautiful soundtrack are things that can't really be found anywhere else. Or, well, what I mean by that is that there isn't really anything that captures the same vibe as Nazo No Kanojo X. I'm sure many can agree on that one.
The soundtrack is also another thing that makes Nazo No Kanojo X so amazing, the memorable and gorgeous ost that plays during each episode just amplifies the experience. The opening and ending songs both sung by Ayako Yoshitani (voice of Mikoto Urabe) are both favourites of mine, most wouldn't see the opening and ending songs of an anime as important, but in this case they just add so much to the anime. The ending and opening songs are songs that I would never skip, both are great in my opinion.
The art style is also another thing that I have an affinity with, the 90s like style (slightly) similar to manga artist Rumiko Takahashi's artstyle is nostalgic and easy on the eyes. Although it's not for everyone, and it's not as modern and spunky as some might prefer, the old school art style adds to the overall vibe and aesthetic of Nazo No Kanojo X.
To bring this messy review to an end, Nazo No Kanojo X isn't for everyone, but it can be enjoyed by those who take a liking to it. It's definitely worth watching, but it all depends on what the viewer prefers. If you're looking for something out of the ordinary and strange, but also looking for cheesy high school romance and awkward teenage relationships, then this is the show for you ! Nazo No Kanojo is a one of a kind anime, with unique characters and storyline, gorgeous art and ost, and interesting plot paired with a fun little journey to follow along with.
Overall, Nazo No Kanojo is a hard 9/10 from me ! (∩^o^)⊃━☆
