I have been following MHA since the start and have been loving it. However, after that, they started to slow things down at an alarming pace, which made us wait forever for some actual content. Now, obviously, everyone would hope that this season should've been an absolute banger. Moreover, I can pretty much say that everyone hoped to see the MC not be a side character. However, he is still a side character.
I am also kinda getting annoyed at the whole plot buildup. I don't think this is a spoiler since everyone would know this (I am still marking this comment as a spoiler warning),
...
but the same villain just returned. They kept him in prison after he might've killed thousands of people, and he still escaped after about all the seasons and became the villain again? It honestly really feels like MHA was literally out of ideas, so they have just brought him back. It would pretty much sum up the whole MHA that heros and the agency believe not to kill off the villains, just so that villains can come back and kill other thousands of people. Whether it be shigaraki or all for one, the whole plot is basically based on how they caught them or got a chance to kill them but didn't kill them, so they came back and killed thousands of other people.
The MHA community has always been known to be one of the most toxic communities, maybe after FMA haha (no offense to anyone). And looking at the defense of people on literally anything MHA has been doing is literally showing that they will be fine with whatever MHA gives to them, so MHA has been showing shitshow at the pace slower than a turtle for years now. I do think the first season is a must-watch, however, do not keep many hopes from MHA apart from that.
I really feel like quitting the show, but the only reason I am still watching is that I have been following it for so long that it feels weird to leave now. Maybe I'll change my views after watching this whole season since a few episodes are left, but I hardly think they can do anything to make all that slow-paced seasons worth while.
