Preliminary (6/14 eps)
Disclosure: I have not read the manga.

After hundreds of episodes and years of watching Bleach, to see the final arc get animated was an exciting moment of nostalgia from my teen years. Sadly the end result has been incredibly disappointing.

The first "new" season was really exciting, no holds barred throw downs, in every episode, bringing back characters and settings that rang all the nostalgia bells, but then the story and character development really started falling off the rails.

In this recent season, ENTIRE EPISODES are just monologuing and grand standing about "You're the bad guy!" and "No you're the bad guy!" , between a ...

Preliminary (5/12 eps)
The second half of Mushoku Tensei Season 2 continues its march towards mediocrity. Absolute filler episode vibes, with the main character not learning anything new about himself, and no dynamics changing in the story line. The world building set up in the first season, with a journey spanning CONTINENTS and diverse cultures has been focused down to a single magic university where fundamentally nothing is learned, and where the main character just visits a library every day to read books of no value.

They appear to be fabricating intense emotional conflicts out of pure air and then designing an episode to diffuse the ...

Genuinely disappointing second season to what was at least a fun, animation explosion of a first season. The first season didn't win any awards for its pervy protagonist's behavior, but I figured the second season would give our troublesome isekai hero some character development.

WRONG

More of the same idiotic, dick centric, behavior that was had in the first season, but this time around there aren't any cool fight scenes or interesting plot developments. The motivations of our incredibly overpowered main character are purely selfish. He goes about fully ignoring slave markets, inequality, magic disasters, wars, rescuing his own family, political intrigue... all for ...

Preliminary (3/4 eps)
I enjoyed the light hearted nature of the first season quite a bit. Characters had some slow (and basic) development, but the antics kept thing going at a good pace. The entire story ended in a classic show down, which was completed with an open ended implication that the bad guy "died" but something appeared to have escaped the field of battle just afterwards. Good set up for another season right?

Wrong. This season is just four episodes of blurry, low quality filler.

The character's behaviors have been changed to fit into the stupid side story, and everything just seems ...

How is this not in the top ten list? And I'm not a fanboy (well maybe just a little because it's THAT GOOD), this was just an amazing series that deserves some recognition. Seriously Eureka Seven is #101 while Gurren Lagann is #1?!?! That's just nauseating...

AMAZING animation, great characters, epic story line, unique development... also doesn't ever do anything really stupid like a lot of animes toward the end of the series...

Conclusion: You owe yourself some time, to just sit back and watch some Eureka. You don't know me, but trust me, you won't regret it.

Given a calm, stable mind (one not overwrought with the hyper adrenaline provided by Gurren Lagann battles) I honestly don't understand how you can rate this anime any higher than a 7. I watched the whole series, and yes it had me watching episode after episode (finished in three days), but really? People are saying it is the BEST anime out there?

The honest truth is that Gurren Lagann is purely of high entertainment value, but that is about it. Under closer scrutiny the series just plays to our most basic emotions which makes you THINK it is the most amazing anime ...
