(2018) For an anime movie made in 2009, it has aged well. Both the art and sound gave an immersive experience. However, half-way through I found it hard to continue watching the movie because both main characters are unlikeable.

The female MC, Tula, made a very poor and thoughtless decision with overreaching consequences. For someone who is supposedly from the past and has an educated background, she neglected asking important questions. Meanwhile the male MC, Agito, seems to be motivated by infatuation throughout the movie and the life-changing decisions he made were not his own and were made for him by others.

The ending spoiled it for me >_< and it felt rushed. Although I did enjoy watching until the last several episodes.
The character's background stories were good, but the delivery lacked depth. I couldn't connect with any of the characters. The supporting especially: what were their motives? What drives them? And it felt like the main's lacked these aspects as well--at least, not enough to move me. The 2 male characters obsession with their fetishes should've received less attention. The time spent on those things would've been better spent in character development, etc. The main premise of the story was very good. I loved all the implications of ... |
