Both are original anime series with similar themes. In both series there's a worldwide hunt for something which will change the world. There's a distinct sense of some greater goal which will be discovered by the travelling ensemble cast by the end of the series. While there are differences in the overall content of each anime, their similarities lie in their themes so if you enjoyed that part I recommend watching the other.

The energy of these anime is remarkable similar, despite their obvious differences. The psychological elements and realism were incorporated into the story; featuring in both quite a lot. After completing Tsurune, I watched Run with the Wind afterwards, and I cannot imagine a better anime to watch after Tsurune. Personally, I think that Kaze ga Tsuyoku Fuiteiru is the better anime, but Tsurune is by no means bad; is is a lovely anime if you're looking for a quick watch.
