What happens when an original show has zero direction with plot points brought up and never touched on again, and one of the main characters makes it abundantly clear that they WILL be leaving at the very end of the show to only go back on all of this in the final few minutes with, Na I want to stay, forget what that past episode setup oh and my mother the queen.

This is a show in which the main character, Miyasaka, is shown to have very few redeeming qualities and is so self-centred that it's honestly impressive. He forgets about knowing another ... character (Aoi) for several episodes until they decided to do a small side episode, which honestly made me wish we had a story all about them.

Several episodes of what felt like filler where I honestly asked myself, "Why am I even still watching this?" nothing is happening and not in the way of a slice-of-life show where you get to know the characters, nothing happens.

It's almost redundant that Mira is even an alien outside of her having a sidekick, the "talking dog." I get the feeling this show was planned for her to be a foreigner, but they decided to spice it up to add more plot points that get dropped as quickly as they are brought up.

It's fine as a show to play in the background to make some noise, but there are countless better shows.

After seeing some TikTok's I decided to dive in and read up in a day. Would I do I again? Probably not.

While the story is very broad and attempts to have several stories, ultimately, for me, many of them fell flat, not that they were terrible. The earlier chapters do a lot of heavy lifting to parts of the story I enjoyed reading, but after chapter 70, we start going in a very dark and unhinged direction which wasn't what I was looking for and might turn others off. For example, over time, the main character into a relentless psychopath, which perhaps was only ... a turn of a leaf away but still caught me off guard.

I grew disinterested in the secondary characters and the story's direction, but the artist has overwhelming talent. They show two sides of totally different art styles and sometimes meld between more than one style in a single chapter; the visuals, as brutal or adorable as they are, are the most substantial parts for me and keep me going between boredom and horror. The fights were beautiful, and even in those moments of horror, I had to see what would happen. Like a car crash, I wanted to look away, but couldn't.

If you enjoy the early chapters, mainly 1-30s/40s, be aware that things go very different later on, the later chapters still have a lot to offer, and things get real different once you hit the later chapters, I hate to stress this but I walked in expecting one story which has gone into something that not everyone will love but if you get deep enough into the story it's worth catching up as there are some great moments, even if for me they started to be come more few and far between the chapters.
