-Both series start in a very cute way and get darker later on. -Both series deal with the price of wishes and wanting to overcome death. -Both series have unexpected yet cleverly foreshadowed plot twists. -Both series include time travel and logic paradoxes. -Both series have a great cast of touching characters you will love, and all of them get serious character development. -Both series are likely to make you cry. -Both series have very nice drawings. -Both series have an anime that includes a Yuki Kajiura OST (although the TRC anime is not really worth it save for the OAVs. The MadoMagi anime on the other hand is a masterpiece, especially the third movie Rebellion).

It is not the anime but the manga that I recommence to all MadoMagi fans. Tsubasa RESERVoir CHRoNiCLE starts off as a cute shonen with a love story between Syaoran and Sakura (cf Cardcaptor Sakura). But at the very half of the manga (which corresponds to the Tokyo Revelation OAVs), things take a really darker tone. Both series have similar themes (the price of wishes, trying to bring the dead back to life, temporal paradoxes due to travels back time, sacrifice, justice...), both series feature a lot of suffering, both series have great characters, both series surprise you with excellent plot twists. And both series have an OST by Yuki Kajiura x)
