Best Isekai Story before Isekai Trend

Isekai Stories have been repeatedly rising and sinking in this 3 decades

In the 90s we had El Hazard and Rayearth

Now we have cliched mass produced Isekai such as Death March and Isekai Smartphone

But in between those eras, there was Isekai no Seikishi Monogatari
One of Tenchi series, and the best along with GXP
...
Even now still the best Isekai Harem Anime

The mecha and mecha battle was amazing

The heroines are more real than most stories, of course vastly eclipsing Isekai Smartphone

We desperately need sequel or a remake of this

Finally, the most important thing is the protagonist
Kenshi Masaki is unlike standard hetare protagonist
He's a strong-willed and brave boy, but not too much to be called Nekketsu
The traits modern harem protagonist should imitated

Easily the worst in Gundam franchise

Gundam was a show that while heavily defined by action sequences, but also displayed various aspects of human emotions.

How scary war is, about how enemy might be an enemy but they can't be considered evil, clash of values between characters, etc. Gundam series portrayed those clearly, so Gundam was always a great show that both risen your adrenaline by awesome actions while at the same time moved your heart.

This latest movie of 00 have no such things...

First, they fight freaking aliens, which was a taboo for Gundam series. The reason is clear, fighting a mindless being like robot or monster ... was always less heart moving than fighting a sentient being and especially of the same race like humans. You can massacre millions of robots and monsters and you won't feel a thing. Maybe for other show is okay, but not Gundam, because it wants to tell you that every fight has a meaning. While watching they fire their beams, rounds, and missiles everywhere and aliens exploding here and there, what I thought was.... this is as fun as me spraying my room with insecticides to kill mosquitoes... which is not fun at all and more like a chore.

Emotionally driven combat is long gone in this one. Simply said, this is so not Gundam.

I still hate the characters from the series as well, especially "discount Hiro Yui" ups I mean Setsuna The Gundam Lover, Insignificant princess, etc. But I still like the series though, but not this movie, this movie is a stain to the franchise.

The latest installment of Code Geass, Boukoku no Akito
The score I've given is strictly for this 1st episode, as a standalone story

At the beginning of the movie, we were shown a rescue attempt by an unit which the protagonist Akito is in. The staffs are all European (as far as we know) but the pilots are all Japanese. Their Knightmare Frame is solely comprised of Alexander, a state of the art KF. In addition of full range of arsenals capable of either melee or long range battles, this KF also has feature to transform from quadrupedal to bipedal to allows mobility in all terrains. This ... amazing KF are entrusted to the hands of "lowly elevens" pilot, so it's safe to assume that they are quite competent or even elite pilots. But then the battle unfolded and somehow rather than fully utilizing their KF abilities, they preferred to suicide bombed themselves one after another. Just when we thought they would lose, the scene shifted to our protagonist Akito, he easily demolished several enemy squads all by himself with other worldly ninja and acrobatic skills.

Going any further would spoil the story, so let's begin scoring

Supposed to be 9 if they didn't CG the KF

- Story : 2
There's nothing important going on (or explained) as far as the Geass universe considered. Plot inconsistencies are numerous. There's racism and discrimination against elevens for no apparent purposes (the enemy of my enemy is my ally logic doesn't work here). These elevens took refuge in a land some 10000 km away (awesome, how did they manage such travel) from their homeland just to receive the same treatments they got under Britania occupation, making it pointless.

One of the most important factor of Geass was the characters. Just throwing random characters and Knightmare Frame won't make it as good as Geass. At this moment I can only score it 2 for characters random behaviors.

- Enjoyment : 4
Honestly speaking, it was a waste of time. I suggest to watch it in batch when more episodes are released.
