Story: 5/10
Koe no Katachi began smoothly. The exposition properly "exposed" the main characters, themes and foreshadows of the future plot. Every chapter and every page had its value in the overall story. Unfortunately, this did not last. As the plot progressed, it deteriorated. Its pacing greatly slowed down, nearly useless events were shown (a.k.a. fillers) and the character relationships decreased in growth.
Art: 4/10
The art is barely decent. In fact, it looks more like an American comic than Japanese manga. The intricate art that Japanese manga is known for is nowhere in the manga. The facial features seem like they are drawn without any effort.
...
In fact, most characters have nearly identical faces. The hair also lacks shading and depth.
Character: 8/10
The characters of Koe no Katachi are its best aspect. From the first chapter, you can already tell that most of the characters have depth. Their personalities are realistic but likable. How they change due to different occurrences in their lives shows that their characters are truly well constructed. Being a slice-of-life manga, each character gives you a different "slice of life".
Enjoyment: 5/10
I began Koe no Katachi because of its praise on Tumblr. In the beginning, I loved it. However, as I read further, my passion for it went no farther. Each chapter released is barely even 20 pages long and often, nothing important would happen. Rather than enjoyment, I felt great impatience and annoyance.
Overall: 6/10
Koe no Katachi had great potential. Unfortunately, its potential was not flourished. It is, by far, the most overrated manga I've encountered.

Everybody in life possesses a dream. To obtain this, people push themselves extensively. However, the process of striving to grasp his or her dream is never an easy feat. Due to this fact of reality, people make friends to ease the process. Unfortunately, things change, and friendships become hard to maintain. Nevertheless, the desire for one's dream remains and even merges with the desire of friendship or love. Our dreams cannot exist without our loved ones, but our dreams connect us to our loved ones.
Chihayafuru revolves around this and one more element–karuta. Karuta is a Japanese cultural sport regarding poetry. A game consists of 2
...
players. Each draws 25 cards from a pile of 100, each one containing the 2nd verse of a poem. The player is given time to place his or her cards and memorize his/her placement as well as his/her opponent's. The poems are then read one by one and the players must touch the second verse of the poem being read. When taking a card from the opponent's side, the player sends a card of his/her choice. The player that empties his/her side wins. By watching the anime, you will learn that this is a beautiful sport.
Story: 9/10
The story is rather simple yet meaningful. As seen in the introduction of this review, it shows how ambition bridges relationships. Furthermore, the plot is relatable. Ayase Chihaya (the protagonist) and her friends don't always win nor constantly fail. The balance of triumph defeat is something anyone can relate to, in spite of it being about karuta. Moreover, the plot moves at a steady (but not too slow) pace with just a small quantity of fillers.
Art: 8/10
Chihayafuru has beautiful and unique art, particularly for most of the important characters (Chihaya, Taichi, Arata, Shinobu, etc.). However, the other characters have eyes which are duplicates of one another. Nevertheless, the art is still nicely done.
Sound: 10/10
The opening song of Chihayafuru (YOUTHFUL by 99RadioService) is wonderful in all aspects. The closing song (Soshite Ima) isn't as nice as YOUTHFUL, but it definitely suits the show. The karuta poems are also beautifully sung/read, much better than many readers in actual karuta games.
Character: 9/10
What makes Chihayafuru truly special are its characters. Each one has a story which we can relate to our own lives. Furthermore, the relationships between these characters feel so real that one would literally run across a room screaming over.
Enjoyment: 10/10
Chihayafuru is one of the most enjoyable anime out there. It has hilarious jokes but gets serious when necessary. Cute romantic moments perfect to fangirl over happen often as well. Especially during the suspenseful karuta matches, one would feel desperate to watch nonstop. It is certainly a show that engages the viewer well.
Overall: 9/10
Chihayafuru is a wonderful anime. It is certainly a rare gem that blows one's heart and one's mind away. It is one of the best anime out there.

When I watched Clannad, I thought it was merely an ordinary slice-of-life anime. Upon watching the After Story, however, my disposition changed. Clannad: After Story is a unique work of art and one of the best anime ever.
Story: 10/10
To be frank, the plot is nothing particularly special. It simply is about the life of an ordinary man whose joy in life is washed away by tragedies. What makes it truly distinctive is the execution (which I have integrated with the rating of the story). The way this simple story is told makes it perceived as something very beautiful. With no fillers, each episode greatly impacts
...
and affects the storyline, each one executed smoothly.
Art: 9/10
Personally, I find the art of Clannad: After Story cute. The big eyes possessed by the female characters are what intrigue me. The forest scenes look like they were painted which compel me as well. Several people I know, however, think otherwise, but I don't think not-so nice art should prevent you from watching this anime.
Sound: 7/10
The opening song of Clannad: After Story (unfortunately I am unaware of its title) is very compatible with the storyline. *SPOILER (sort of): Actually, by analyzing the lyrics and footage, I was able to figure out the outcome of the plot before it was revealed (if you don't want to know, I suggest you don't read the lyrics). SPOILER* And once my hypothesis had been verified, the next time I had heard and seen the opening, I cried. On the other hand, the closing song does the opposite of what the opening song does. Instead of sustaining the emotions you feel after each episode, it destroys them due to the very upbeat and jolly feel. I recommend that you stop the episode immediately after.
Character: 10/10
The characters of Clannad: After Story are what make it what it is. The characters are relatable and realistic––they reflect human characteristics (which I won't mention as doing so would reveal some events in the story). Furthermore, the bonds between the characters feel real and shown ever so explicitly.
Enjoyment: 10/10
In my opinion, crying over an anime is proof whether or not it was enjoyed. Clannad: After Story made me cry at least thrice–-the most I've ever cried over an anime or manga. Moreover, after each episode, I couldn't wait for the next one, so much so that I finished the season in 2 days even repeating several episodes.
Overall: 9/10
Clannad: After Story is really something that should be watched. If you opt not to watch it, you're missing a rare gem. All the vital elements of this anime are top-notch. Boy or girl, I suggest you watch it soon.

Shingeki no Kyojin was an anime recommended to me by my older sister. For days, she had been pestering me to watch it and now, after watching the entire series I understand her infatuation.
Shingeki no Kyojin has a typical shounen plot, a group of warriors fighting against a certain unbeatable foe. Due to this, many characters die in battle even before you can connect with that character. However, 2 aspects of SnK's plot greatly intrigue me. The first aspect is how the story reminds me of our world today. At some point in our lives, we feel confined within the gates of our homes or
...
our lives. We always yearn for freedom amidst its grave consequences. The second aspect is how Shingeki no Kyojin sparks inquisitiveness not only about its fictional dystopian world but also about our world today. Each time a new secret of how the SnK world was created, I stop and think to myself, "How was our world created?". In retrospect, the relatability of Shinegki no Kyojin's plot covered up its flaws.
Amidst the plot, the art of this anime is something to love. The artists make us of bold lines around the focus of each character which helps you truly experience the emotions of the characters. The tragedies are tragic, the fighting is gruesome and the laughter is full of elation.
Like everything and everyone, Shingeki no Kyojin is not perfect. Its protagonists, Eren, Mikasa and Armin aren't the most likable or unique characters. Eren is an ordinary protagonist with revenge as his motive. Mikasa is too perfect or unrealistic. Armin is not well developed.
All in all, Shingeki no Kyojin is an enjoyable anime. It will make you laugh, cry and got through deep cogitation about its symbolic aspects. I highly recommend you to watch it.

Dokidoki Precure is a typical shoujo anime, involving a young girl who transforms and fights evil. Full of predictable outcomes, fillers and frustrating transformations, this show certainly just floats with the rest of the like.
Story (4)
Like previously stated, this story is too typical. It concerns a young girl who discovers her ability to become a PreCure. With her newfound ability, she influences her friends to join her as they fight the evil Selfish. Nothing really struck me nor was it awful, but it has just been done too many times before, and like mentioned above, it consists of way too many fillers. Actually, it's basically
...
a replica of all the other Precures.
Art (9)
I think the only pro of this series would be the art. Each detail is drawn skillfully and intricately.
Sound (7)
The music from this anime isn't at all bad, especially considering that it's catered to little girls. However, its rating isn't too optimistic because generally, the music is rather ordinary.
Characters (8)
In the beginning, each character is terribly common but PERFECT (negatively). The main character is the student council president that FINDS PLEASURE in helping people, her best friend is a studious girl and her close friend is an extremely polite rich girl. Though these 3 characters are rather unrealistic, there is 1 character that intrigues me, especially taking into account that this is a rather childish anime. Regina, the daughter of the leading villain befriends these legendary heroic PreCures. This intrigued me for it somehow symbolized how children aren't always like their parents.
Enjoyment (6)
I personally didn't quite breathe in entertainment while watching this anime. Perhaps it's because of my age that the colorful transformations bore me or that the predictable triumphs of the PreCures occurred during practically every episode. Maybe a little girl aged 10 and below would love this, but for a teenager, not so much.
Overall (5)
Dokidoki Precure is a medicore anime. The reason I yearn for anime is the deep and mysterious plot it supposedly possesses (in general) and the tragic and dramatic plot twists that greatly relate to present day adolescence. DokiDoki, however took these away. For a 10-year-old, this would be great, but for teenagers, this show is unfortunately a waste of time, that I had dropped it.

Full Moon wo Sagashite seems like one of those animes for a little girl. However, this is one among a handful of anime wherein there is more than what meets the eye.
STORY (10)
Full Moon has a rather typical and simple shoujo anime plot line that just blends in with the thousands of other anime; a 12-year-old girl with throat cancer dreams of becoming a singer because of a guy gets turned into a 16-year-old by a Shinigmai, so she may achieve her dream before her cancer escalates. However, the details and hints of suicide and death towards the ending of the series bind together with
...
the beginning story line and create something unique and new; it opens up your eyes to the pain, sorrow and terrors faced by many people in this world that we don't realize. Certainly this plot will make you cringe.
ART (7)
I believe Full Moon has great art, but nothing that sticks to your head; it isn't memorable.
SOUND (8)
Myco has stunning vocals. Every song she sang truly took control of my emotions, though I am not fluent in Japanese. However, the opening song in the second half (Rock n'Roll Princess?) didn't quite complement my taste.
CHARACTER (10)
What I like best about Full Moon are the characters. Whether in movies, books, manga or anime, I've had difficulty finding a good story with great characters, but Full Moon blew me away. Meroko is the best character in all manga and anime. I believe Meroko is the heroine of the story. I would have preferred that they include her back story in the manga in the anime as well as it would've made her even better, but even without the back story, she is still amazing. I also enjoy the chemistry between each and every character.
ENJOYMENT (10)
If you want something to cause you to sob, this anime should be on top of your list. Among the countless anime I've seen, Full Moon made me cry the most, especially in the latter part of the series.
OVERALL (9)
Full Moon wo Sagashite is a great anime. Though childish and perhaps full of "fillers" at first, this series develops into something beautiful, sorrowful and impactive.
